Rehabs That Take Aither Health

Aither Health is a health benefits company that works with employers that fund their own health plans, helping to administer coverage for employees and their families. Plans it supports can include benefits for drug and alcohol treatment. What a member can use depends on the employer’s plan design, the provider network and the level of care needed.

Louisiana treatment centers on this page name Aither Health on their websites. Since the employer’s plan, not the administrator, sets the rules, it helps to call the member services number on your card and then the facility. Ask whether the program is in network, whether prior authorization applies and what you may pay before admission.

Why Trust RehabSeekers.com?

RehabSeekers is an independent behavioral health directory covering drug and alcohol addiction and mental health treatment providers.

Every listing has a source: an official register, a licensing record, or details the facility sent us.

Credentials shown honestly. Accreditation, licensing and registration listed separately.

Reviews shown exactly as written. Never edited, never removed because a facility asked.

No commission, no referral fees. Nothing a facility pays for changes where it appears.

Contact details always go direct. Calls reach the facility itself, never a call centre.

Common questions

Answered from what is listed here.

What is Aither Health?

Aither Health, LLC is an independent third-party administrator based in Buffalo, New York. It runs self-funded and level-funded employer health plans, handling claims, member service and medical management, and it also sells back-office claims work to other administrators, health plans and providers. It does not underwrite coverage itself.

Cofounders and co-CEOs Laura M. Hirsch and Lisa M. True own the company, which says it turned down private equity investment to stay independent.

Private Insurance Acceptedhttps://rehabseekers.com/insurance-accepted/private-insurance-accepted/
Is Aither Health an insurance company?

No. Aither Health is a third-party administrator rather than an insurer. On a self-funded plan the employer pays the actual claims and writes the benefit rules, while Aither processes claims, answers member calls and handles precertification. Level-funded employers instead pay a fixed monthly amount that includes stop-loss insurance.

That is why two employees carrying Aither cards can have very different addiction treatment benefits: the employer's plan document, not the administrator, sets the terms.

Private Insurance Acceptedhttps://rehabseekers.com/insurance-accepted/private-insurance-accepted/
Does Aither Health cover rehab?

Yes, in most cases, though the benefit comes from the employer's plan rather than from Aither itself. Because Aither administers self-funded and level-funded plans, each employer's plan document decides whether detox, residential treatment, PHP, IOP and outpatient care are paid and what precertification applies.

The member services number on your ID card reaches the Aither Advocate team, which can read the plan's substance use benefit back to you.

Aither Health is a third-party administrator rather than an insurance company. It runs the day-to-day machinery of self-funded and level-funded health plans that employers pay for out of their own money: claims, enrollment, medical management, billing and the phone line on the back of the card. The coverage itself belongs to the employer sponsoring the plan, and Aither administers it.

That distinction decides almost everything about getting into treatment. There is no single Aither benefit for addiction care, no Aither formulary and no Aither network directory published on its site. Each employer’s plan document names the levels of care it pays for, the network arrangement if there is one, and the precertification rules. Aither Health, LLC is based in the Buffalo, New York area, is privately held by cofounders and co-CEOs Laura M. Hirsch and Lisa M. True, who previously worked at Nova Healthcare Administrators and Meritain Health, and it is registered as a third-party administrator with the North Carolina Department of Insurance.

The guide below covers what an Aither-administered plan is likely to pay for at each level of care, how precertification is requested, what a stay costs and which figures are published, how the pharmacy side works, and how to find a program when the card carries an administrator’s name instead of an insurer’s.
