Rehabs That Take Allied Insurance

Allied Insurance is a name that treatment centers in California and Pennsylvania use on their websites. Several companies use the Allied name, so the plan behind it may be an employer health plan or benefits administrator. Coverage for drug and alcohol treatment can apply, with benefits that vary by plan, network and level of care, from detox to outpatient counseling.Centers on this page list Allied Insurance on their own sites. Before admission, call the facility and the number on your member card to check your benefits, whether the center is in network, any prior authorization and the costs you may owe.

Why Trust RehabSeekers.com?

RehabSeekers is an independent behavioral health directory covering drug and alcohol addiction and mental health treatment providers.

Every listing has a source: an official register, a licensing record, or details the facility sent us.

Credentials shown honestly. Accreditation, licensing and registration listed separately.

Reviews shown exactly as written. Never edited, never removed because a facility asked.

No commission, no referral fees. Nothing a facility pays for changes where it appears.

Contact details always go direct. Calls reach the facility itself, never a call centre.

Common questions

Answered from what is listed here.

What is Allied insurance?

Allied usually means Allied Benefit Systems, a Chicago-based independent third-party administrator founded in 1980 that runs self-funded health plans for more than 14,500 employers. It is not itself an insurer: the employer funds the claims and sets the benefits, and Allied administers the plan.

A separate company, Allied National of Overland Park, Kansas, administers small-group level-funded plans, so read the company name and payer ID printed on your member card.

Private Insurance Acceptedhttps://rehabseekers.com/insurance-accepted/private-insurance-accepted/
Does Allied cover rehab?

Yes, when the employer's plan covers it. Allied Benefit Systems administers self-funded plans rather than selling coverage, so detox, residential, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient and outpatient benefits are written into the employer's Summary Plan Description, and payment also depends on your eligibility on the date of service.

Allied does not publish a general list of covered addiction levels of care, so call the number on the back of your member ID card before admission.

Inpatient Rehabhttps://rehabseekers.com/programs/inpatient/
Does Allied cover drug and alcohol detox?

Yes, detox is payable where the employer's plan includes substance use benefits. It is handled as a medical admission, and the Summary Plan Description sets the deductible, coinsurance and any precertification. Allied Benefit Systems applies those plan rules when it reviews and pays the claim.

Ask whether the detox center takes part in the PPO network printed on your card, since the network owners, not Allied, maintain those provider lists.

Allied Insurance, as treatment admissions teams use the phrase, almost always means Allied Benefit Systems, LLC, a Chicago third-party administrator that runs self-funded health plans on behalf of employers. Allied is not the insurer. The employer funds the claims and writes the benefit rules; Allied administers eligibility, precertification and payment, which is why two cards reading Allied can lead to two different answers about rehab.

A second company shares the name. Allied National, LLC, an Overland Park, Kansas administrator of small-group level-funded plans, has been majority owned since June 2020 by 90 Degree Benefits, a subsidiary of Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Alabama. There is also an unrelated ALLIED property and casualty brand, which does not pay for health care at all. The card in the wallet settles which one applies.

This guide covers what an Allied-administered plan typically pays toward detox, residential care and outpatient treatment, how precertification runs through Allied Medical Review, what the sums look like before coverage is applied, how addiction medication is handled through the employer’s pharmacy manager, and how to work out which rehab programs sit inside the network printed on the card.
