Why Trust RehabSeekers.com?

RehabSeekers is an independent behavioral health directory covering drug and alcohol addiction and mental health treatment providers.

Every listing has a source: an official register, a licensing record, or details the facility sent us.

Credentials shown honestly. Accreditation, licensing and registration listed separately.

Reviews shown exactly as written. Never edited, never removed because a facility asked.

No commission, no referral fees. Nothing a facility pays for changes where it appears.

Contact details always go direct. Calls reach the facility itself, never a call centre.

Common questions

Answered from what is listed here.

Does Cox HealthPlans cover rehab?

Yes, Cox HealthPlans covers addiction treatment. Its individual EPO policy treats substance use disorder the same as any other illness, covering detox, residential programs, hospital inpatient care and outpatient services, subject to utilization management. Short-Term Plus Medical plans are the exception, since they may limit or exclude substance use benefits.

Employer group benefits vary by plan, so check the plan name on your card and call Member Services at (800) 205-7665 before admission.

Private Insurance Acceptedhttps://rehabseekers.com/insurance-accepted/private-insurance-accepted/
Does Cox HealthPlans cover detox?

Yes, detoxification in either a medical or a social setting is a listed covered service on the Cox HealthPlans individual EPO policy, paid like any other illness. Coverage depends on medical necessity and the plan's utilization management guidelines rather than a fixed number of days.

Inpatient admissions need plan approval first, and for an emergency admission the plan must be contacted within 48 hours or as soon as possible.

Detox Centershttps://rehabseekers.com/programs/detox-centers/
Does Cox HealthPlans cover inpatient or residential rehab?

Yes, both levels are covered. The individual EPO policy lists hospital inpatient substance use treatment and residential treatment programs as covered services, paid to the same extent as any other illness, with the level of care decided by the in-house Medical Management team.

Residential mental health care must be given in a psychiatric residential treatment center licensed by the Missouri Department of Mental Health.

Cox HealthPlans is the insurance arm of CoxHealth, the not-for-profit six-hospital system based in Springfield, Missouri, and it sells Medicare Advantage, employer group, off-exchange individual and short-term medical plans in the southwest corner of the state. For anyone looking at addiction treatment, that local footprint is the whole story: the plan pays at full benefit inside the CoxHealth network and tightens sharply outside it.

The company has been reshaping what it sells. Marketplace plans were withdrawn from Greene and Webster counties for plan year 2026, affecting about 4,300 members, and on August 7, 2026 Cox HealthPlans announced it will stop selling ACA Marketplace plans altogether from the 2027 plan year, with Oscar Health selling exchange plans built on the CoxHealth network instead. Off-exchange individual plans continue in Greene, Christian, Webster, Stone, Taney, Barry and Lawrence counties, and the Medicare Advantage, group and short-term lines carry on under the Cox HealthPlans name.

This guide sets out which levels of addiction care the plan documents list as covered, where authorization applies, what the published figures say a stay costs, how medication is paid for, and how to work out whether a program in Missouri sits inside the network you actually hold.
