Lighthouse Recovery Institute – Boynton Beach Reviews and Ratings
A review of Lighthouse Recovery Institute does not need to be long. If you were a patient or a family member, a few plain sentences on what went well, and what you wish you had known beforehand, will help the next reader.
In my view, the program's policies often feel less like a therapeutic recovery environment and more like an unnecessarily restrictive system of control. Clients are granted only a narrow three-hour window from 3:00 PM… to 6:00 PM to exercise any meaningful degree of personal freedom, even on weekends when there are frequently no scheduled clinical obligations occupying their time. What is particularly concerning is that this limited privilege can be revoked with remarkable ease, often for relatively minor infractions. Rather than functioning as a rehabilitation center dedicated to fostering responsibility, autonomy, and personal growth, the environment can at times feel punitive in nature. The removal of a client's only opportunity for recreation, social connection, or independent activity transforms recovery housing from a place of healing into something that resembles confinement. Recovery thrives on dignity, accountability, and the gradual restoration of self-governance. Yet when excessive restrictions are imposed and free time is routinely withheld as punishment, the institution risks cultivating resentment rather than rehabilitation. A treatment center should serve as a bridge back to productive living, not a cage in which clients feel perpetualy monitored and deprived of even the smallet measure of personal agency.
Incredible facility. I am a real client with real experience many times in treatment and this facility really cares and works with you.
I came to Lighthouse last year with nothing—no Social Security card, no driver’s license, and everything I owned fit in a backpack. I went through the full program (PHP and IOP) and left with 9 months sober. Lighthouse… may not be the biggest facility, but that’s actually what made my experience so impactful. I never felt like just a number. The staff genuinely cared, and you can feel that from the moment you walk in. There’s real support and real love there. By the time I completed the program, I was a completely different person. They didn’t just help me get sober—they helped me transition back into real life. Today, I have over a year sober, my own place, and stability I didn’t have before. Lighthouse also helped me take care of important life things like getting my Social Security card, driver’s license, and even setting me up for Hep C treatment. That kind of support goes way beyond what most places offer. Everyone there—from the owner to the techs—is involved and accessible, which says a lot about how the place is run. I highly recommend Lighthouse to anyone serious about getting their life back, especially being located in Delray Beach, the recovery capital.
Yo light house recovery was really helpful helps you get on your feet and they have real people in recovery helping and thats always a plus to have people who understand it’s not just about the check it’s about you and… I like that a lot
Lighthouse changed my life! From the techs to my therapist I wouldn’t be sober today! The truly embrace you and guide through the ups and downs along with realistic expectations. I was set up for success when I… graduated! I’ve never been happier! Thank you Lighthouse love you guys and Thank you
Please beware of this place they are pressed for insurance money the never allow you to leave the program even when you complete everything they try to over medicate you strict rules. This is the worst place and should… be shut down so close to me filing a lawsuit for how they did my daughter
Lighthouse Recovery truly lives up to its name. The staff is caring, supportive, and genuinely invested in each person’s recovery. The environment is welcoming and structured, making it easier to focus on healing and… growth. I’m grateful for the guidance, accountability, and sense of community they provide. Highly recommend for anyone serious about recovery.
Lighthouse Recovery Institute has been a blessing in my life. From day one, I felt welcomed, supported, and respected. My therapist, the upper management, and the techs genuinely care and go above and beyond to make… sure each person feels seen and valued, not just as a client, but as a person. They create an environment that balances accountability with compassion, which made a huge difference in my recovery. The structure, guidance, and encouragement I received helped me grow in ways I didn’t expect. I’m incredibly grateful for Lighthouse Recovery Institute and would highly recommend it to anyone seeking real support and lasting change. Thank you!
Great family owned place, I’ve been here 3 times and every time they’ve been a huge help. As someone who has been to 15 plus treatment centers I can vouch for this one at least in terms of the type of program they run… is one of the best.
Clinical staff as well as techs are amazing they truly give you all the tools needed for long term sobriety the support in second to none Danielle and Scott are truly amazing
Only speaking from iop perspective, there will be no medical or psychiatric assistance even though it will be promised. I had my bloodwork taken day 2 and was there for two months with no doctor and r psych follow up.… Even though I requested medication assistance as I am prescribed medication. They harp on med compliance yes will not budge from f you’re out of refills and need immediate assistance. If you need letters to the court. They are useless and incompetent. Your better retaining counsel. I was told I could complete at any time as I wanted yet when I asked for a completion letter. I was given the option to continue or no letter of completion. My insurance company has so many charges on can even itemize them yet was only going twice a week in the end. Therapist are neutral in therapy but ultra sensitive when it comes to personal power trips. Another reminder to stay sober to avoid sees pools like Light House.
Lighthouse is amazing it’s smaller so the therapist and facilitators really get to know you. Virginia and Treasure are exceptional at what they do, they really care and are priceless here. If you want somewhere to… really concentrate on you getting sober and getting to the root go there. Carissa and Jess are 2 Techs that actually know how to cater and nurture your recovery. If you really care about being at peace while you’re going through recovery definitely come here, Sue is amazing at everything she does and really runs a great program. Christopher was the first tech I met and was kind and patient explaining how everything worked here ,, he also has been one of the techs I can always go to for guidance.
The Alumni Director had shown me much love and respect since day 1, along with the Group facilitators, BHT’s, and Dr. who helped me very much. Compassion was shown toward me since day one.
This facility and it's staff, like Josh, are highly incompetent, let their residents just leave and don't notify there families, and is poorly run. From personal experience do not even consider this place - you are… guaranteed to relapse and they don't care! They are rude, disrespectful, unprofessional - and in my opinion, should be closed down. They have been reported to the state and various other organizations for the reasons stated above. Avoid!
DON'T GO HERE it's absolutely the worst program I've ever been in. Everything they tell you on the phone is a lie! Their groups are absolutely nonsense. You can't leave property except for between 3:00 and 6:00, even on… the Sunday. They have one washer for 25 people. The units have very limited room for food and shelving. Very limited dishes. The units have cockroaches. I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS TO THE DEAD! IF YOU WANT TO RELAPSE THAT'S THE PLACE TO BE!!!!
Great program with excellent staff!! Corey, Marie, and Erik all hold a special place in my heart as they have helped several close friends of mine find meaningful sobriety.
Absolutely wonderful facility! The team is very supportive of your recovery and goes the extra mile to make their clients feel welcome!
There nothing what they say… when you think your sober they will try to drink again…👎 if you go bad choice.
The clinical staff was very helpful and caring. Special mention Heather, Isabel and techs Chris and Tom.
Absolutely amazing facility with the most compassionate and helpful staff! You can tell everyone there truly cares about each individual in their program which creates such a safe and welcoming environment. I highly… recommend reaching out to them if you or someone you know is struggling with substance abuse.
This place has some seriously talented therapists ;)
