Why Trust RehabSeekers.com?

RehabSeekers is an independent behavioral health directory covering drug and alcohol addiction and mental health treatment providers.

Every listing has a source: an official register, a licensing record, or details the facility sent us.

Credentials shown honestly. Accreditation, licensing and registration listed separately.

Reviews shown exactly as written. Never edited, never removed because a facility asked.

No commission, no referral fees. Nothing a facility pays for changes where it appears.

Contact details always go direct. Calls reach the facility itself, never a call centre.

Common questions

Answered from what is listed here.

Does VillageCareMAX cover rehab?

Yes, on the three Medicare Advantage plans. Medicare Total Advantage, Medicare Health Advantage and Medicare Select Advantage all list substance use care and inpatient substance use rehabilitation as covered. The Medicaid managed long-term care plan does not cover addiction treatment; those members use regular Medicaid or Medicare instead.

Behavioral health benefits on the Medicare plans are administered by Carelon Behavioral Health, which handles authorizations, care management and claims for mental health and substance use services.

Medicare Rehabhttps://rehabseekers.com/insurance-accepted/medicare/
Does VillageCareMAX MLTC cover drug or alcohol rehab?

No. VillageCareMAX Managed Long-Term Care is a partial capitation Medicaid plan built around home care and long-term services, and its benefit grid marks substance use care, inpatient rehabilitation, psychiatry, mental health, hospital and physician services as not covered for the 2026 plan year.

Those services stay with regular Medicaid or Medicare, so you use that card rather than the long-term care plan card when entering treatment.

Medicaid Rehabhttps://rehabseekers.com/insurance-accepted/medicaid/
Does VillageCareMAX cover inpatient rehab?

Yes, inpatient substance use rehabilitation is a covered benefit on Medicare Total Advantage, Medicare Health Advantage and Medicare Select Advantage. In 2026 an in-network inpatient stay is $0 on the two dual-eligible plans, while Select Advantage charges $410 a day for days one through four.

Psychiatric and substance use admissions need prior authorization through Carelon Behavioral Health, though an emergency admission is exempt from that requirement.

VillageCareMAX is a not-for-profit health plan in the New York City area, part of VillageCare, and it sells two very different kinds of coverage: one Medicaid managed long-term care plan and three Medicare Advantage HMOs. Which of those sits on the member card decides whether addiction treatment is a plan benefit at all.

The provider manual settles the question in a single grid. Outpatient and inpatient mental health, psychiatry, substance use care and inpatient rehabilitation are covered under the Medicare Total Advantage, Medicare Health Advantage and Medicare Select Advantage plans, and not covered under the managed long-term care (MLTC) plan. An MLTC member still has a route to treatment, but it runs through regular Medicaid or Medicare rather than through VillageCareMAX.

This guide covers which plan pays for which level of care, where prior authorization applies and who issues it, the 2026 copays and out-of-pocket limits on each Medicare plan, how medication for opioid and alcohol use is handled on the formulary, and how to find a program in the network across the five boroughs, Westchester, Putnam and Nassau.
