Rehabs That Take Zelis

Zelis is a health care payments and cost management company that works with health plans and employers. Plans that use Zelis can cover drug and alcohol treatment, with benefits set by the plan.

Centers in Virginia and Wisconsin mention Zelis on their own websites. Zelis is not usually the insurer, so the health plan named on your card decides coverage. Contact the facility and that plan before admission to check your benefits, network status, whether detox, residential or outpatient care needs prior authorization or a referral, and what you may pay out of pocket.

Why Trust RehabSeekers.com?

RehabSeekers is an independent behavioral health directory covering drug and alcohol addiction and mental health treatment providers.

Every listing has a source: an official register, a licensing record, or details the facility sent us.

Credentials shown honestly. Accreditation, licensing and registration listed separately.

Reviews shown exactly as written. Never edited, never removed because a facility asked.

No commission, no referral fees. Nothing a facility pays for changes where it appears.

Contact details always go direct. Calls reach the facility itself, never a call centre.

Common questions

Answered from what is listed here.

Is Zelis an insurance company?

No, Zelis is a healthcare payments and provider network company, not an insurance carrier or third-party administrator. It leases medical, dental and workers' compensation networks to health plans, TPAs and self-funded employers. The plan or administrator named on your ID card is what sets benefits and pays claims.

Zelis states it cannot validate payment policies, verify member benefits or guarantee claim payment, so eligibility questions go to the number printed on your card.

Private Insurance Acceptedhttps://rehabseekers.com/insurance-accepted/private-insurance-accepted/
Does Zelis cover rehab?

No, Zelis does not decide whether rehab is covered; the health plan, TPA or employer plan that leases the Zelis network does. A Zelis logo on a card means the plan uses Zelis contracted rates, while benefits for detox, residential, PHP, IOP and outpatient care come from the plan itself.

Call the member number on your card to confirm which levels of care are covered before admission.

Private Insurance Acceptedhttps://rehabseekers.com/insurance-accepted/private-insurance-accepted/
Does Zelis cover detox?

No, detox benefits are set by your health plan, not by Zelis. Whether medical detox is covered, and for how many days, is decided by the health plan, TPA or self-funded employer plan that uses the Zelis network. Zelis publishes no list of covered levels of substance use care.

A detox center in a Zelis network has contracted rates with participating payers; authorization and day limits still come from the plan.

Zelis is a US healthcare payments and provider network company that leases PPO, wrap and specialty networks to health plans, third-party administrators and self-funded employers. It states plainly that it is the network and not an insurance carrier or third-party administrator. For anyone pricing addiction treatment, that one sentence settles most of the question: Zelis sets the contracted rate on the claim, and the plan named beside it on the card sets the benefit.

The name is newer than the networks behind it. Zelis was formed in June 2016 out of Premier Healthcare Exchange, Pay-Plus Solutions, Stratose and GlobalCare, and the legacy brands still turn up on cards and in directories. Stratose, HFN, PPOPlus, 4Most Health, NPPN/Plan Vista, PlanCare America and eMDnet are all Zelis networks, so a card can carry one of those names, a Zelis logo and the name of the employer plan or administrator that actually pays.

This guide covers what a Zelis network card implies about rehab coverage and what it does not, who answers prior authorization questions for detox and residential care, what treatment costs once a network discount is applied, how medication is handled by a network with no formulary, and how to find a program that participates in the right Zelis network.
