My daughter was in this place for 2 weeks, she was released delusional without any medication to control this. I give all credit to her Social Worker’s Who I will not comment their names The Doctor who works there… didn’t do anything to help her mental health. I’m definitely not happy
I can say that I came here and didnt want to. By the time I left, I felt like more myself. The staff here really wanted to help and make sure I was better.
My wife was placed there on July 16th ,2026. I was never told she was there and when I called they said I couldn't be told anything unless I had a code . I was finally contacted on July 27th by Kim a social worker who… called to tell me they were in the process of releasing my wife. No explanation of what was wrong and when I tried to explain she acted like she knew no details of the problems my wife was having. My wife came home on July 30th and immediately threw away her paper work which I took out of the garbage. Looking at her paperwork I saw that my wife signed her release papers with a different last name. I'm guessing their baseline accepted wrong names. Once home my wife is continuing her delusional behavior believing she is married to someone else, writing love notes on the family couch and talking to herself.
The Dr is very very unprofessional and appears to be a liar he informed my family member that I threatened to sue him which never happened. I had him on speaker phone with people around. He asked me a question I gave… him the answer he laughed about it like it was funny. He literally told the patient what was said to him from some of the family. This Dr is horrible. I truly don’t believe he cares anything about the patients, especially since he was laughing about personal issues. If you are going there for help I would think twice about looking for a different hospital. Some nurses are nice some are very uncaring. . They promise to call family back for updates but they don’t. They rush you off the phone then repeat what was said to them instead of helping the patient almost like trying to cause chaos or confusion to a patient who is already in distress and the last thing they need is more stress. I hope they get a better Dr one who is honest. And doesn’t laugh at peoples personal pain.
mike is the most caring nurse he went out of his way multiple times inside and out of pinewood along with the other nurses. if you need mental health and around Colombia TN highly don't hesitate to go to pinewood… springs 🙂
Best psych hospital I've ever been too. They actually care and help u after u leave!
Wouldn’t recommend this place for a dead rat … it’s like prison ! They’ve held my family member , taken away access completely from the outside world .. Take your services elsewhere …
This facility is very helpful with recovery. Thanks to the staff who helped me so much!
My stay here was nice. The nurses and the assistants and the chefs were really accommodating to my needs. Thank You, Colleen, Kim, Kristina, Terika, Alton, and everyone else. 💖 They will help stabilize your medication… and what works for you, help you find rehab if you need, and provide a social worker to help you with the process. They did just open in 2025 and seem to be struggling to stay afloat, at least the staff. Techs do rounds every 15 minutes or so and will interact with you the MOST, they are your go-to people for anything you may need, if it is not medication, which is a nurses responsibility alone.
I was involuntary put here but this place is amazing
I wish I can put a zero here because I went through hell there I was sent there and they didn't give me my medications until the next day, which made me dizzy. When I wanted to talk to someone because of how I was… feeling, I was pushed away by every nurse until I had my meltdown because I was at the last straw. I was harassed by one patient who touched me every time she saw me and no one did anything about it. The only thing I was able to be vulnerable or talk about was talking to those two nurses at night because they made me feel important and that I was not alone. Other than that, I would never come back to this place and like I told my therapist, I rather do something stupid before I step foot in that hellhole.
Do not waste your time. They are no help to you. Just like other places they just pass the buck and try to send you else where. I had high hopes for this place but they were no help
I loved my experience at pinewood springs. Lots of local people come here when they just need a break! The staff is amazing, the food is good, they all treat you like family. I would give more stars if possible.
I was just released from Pinewood Springs, being involuntarily hospitalized from the 10th to the 14th, I feel as though I should make a true statement about this place in a neutral manner. To begin, the techs wear plum… colored scrubs. They are very sweet and are definitely more hands on than nurses, but they do have more contact with patients than the nurses themselves. Jaime and Olivia were the BEST and SWEETEST people I have ever met, and I could not have been happier when they were working and on shift. Second, the nurses are great, but definitely do need to be more kind. They seemed to be annoyed alot of time and just wanted to go ahead, and give you your medicine. People did mistake them for being like our resources and being really able to help in that department, but they were definitely not. I would say they are overworked and desperately understaffed. Third, I would agree with some reviews that they are unorganized and kind of chaotic, but I did get there on a weekend, which means most of the main staff will be out. You will absolutely get the help you need, but not right away and do not expect to see a therapist 1 on 1, because I did not experience that. They will help provide you resources while admitted and upon discharge, but it is not like some may think a mental health hospital is. They will help stabilize your medication and what works for you, help you find rehab if you need, and provide a social worker to help you with the process. They did just open in 2025 and seem to be struggling to stay afloat, at least the staff. Now the functions: you do share a room with one other person, but they will put you with someone similar in either age, or experience so you can bond. Friends will help you stay happy and maintain your sanity here, but do expect all different types of people with different needs and circumstances. Techs do rounds every 15 minutes or so and will interact with you the MOST, they are your go-to people for anything you may need, if it is not medication, which is a nurses responsibility alone. They do activities with you and have times set for phones, which are actually very often and meals are set times, and very well made. You do have limited options, but they will work with you as long as you are honest with them! Wake up time is usually 7:30 and breakfast will happen immediately, but it runs for an hour. Unit 1 will usually go first, unit 2 secondly. Lunch is unit 2, then unit 1 and DINNER is unit 1, then unit 2. They give you a red folder that will contain a packet upon admission or very shortly after, usually a day. You can also ask for one. As im nearing the end of this review, I will explain my rating and why. The only reason that I gave 4 stars is because it was lack luster and definitely does need some improvement, but I will say that it is better than most! I didn’t have a horrible experience, but I do understand experiences are different. My case was low, so they really only kept me for the legal 72 hour hold and then watched me for two more days for my medication. Thank you for reading and this isnt all the works and info, but does give a brief look into about how it works! It is not as bad as some may say.
Don’t EVER go here. You will be told you will be evaluated by a doctor and a SW. I never saw a single one. I was only released after threatening legal action. They will monitor your phone calls. It’s basically prison. I… was admitted here because of a call that was made by someone else which was false information. I have a heart condition and when given SSRI’s it could put me into cardiac arrest, yet they kept insisting I take them. So they proceeded to give me an antipsychotic when I have no dx of any sorts of that. This is the closest thing to prison you could possibly find. Please do not send any loved ones here. You will not be helping them. I wake up nightly now with night terrors and my mental health has never been worse.
Doesn’t deserve 1 Star. It’s sad how undereducated the hospital staff is at Hendersonville Medical Center is with handling duo diagnosis patients withdrawing from Kratom. I was never contacted about my loved one being… transferred to this cuckoo’s nest. The loved one only had the clothes on their back & wasn’t seen by a provider after 48 hours & suffered uncontrollable diarrhea & discomfort. I recorded the loved one saying “feeling unsafe” & patients screaming in the background. I felt unsafe as it is being in the waiting area. The psychiatrist Dewari (probably misspelled) is TERRIBLE!! I had to threaten legal action in order for him to be aware of patient rights. I had a counselor from another well equipped facility processing the transfer.
This the worst place my son was there and the doctor were very rude and hung up on me they called for me to come get my son which was a hour away I get there they act like they couldn’t find his belongings I called back… to see if they found his personal property they said yes so I called to see how will he receive his belongings and no one is telling me anything so at this point I’m about to take legal action
Family member was there. Very wonderful staff and knowledgeable!
This is the worst Mental Hospital in Middle Tennessee. The psychiatrist do not work with the family of the mental ill patient. Even though they were the patience Conservator . No visits with the patient while they were… a patient at the hospital.. Poor communication with the family from the nurses and the Social Worker. Discharged the patient too soon, still very unstable. Then they discharged the patient without notifying the family or the Conservator. When they discharge the patient, They lost the patient for 5 hours and had the family in a panic. We have been dealing with different mental hospitals for the last 34 years, this is the worst. I would not ever recommend this mental hospital.
I just recently spent a week here this place really helped me the food was wonderful and the people were wonderful I appreciate all the hard work they all put into the care thank you so much
I only give them one star because I can make a comment. I would not send my dog to this place or any of my enemies. they let my friend lie for five hours with a broke femur. Then when she got to the hospital, they still… had control over until they admitted her to the hospital. Thank God they did that or she would’ve got the help that she needed.
Whoever answers the phones could use an attitude adjustment from management. Very rude and disrespectful. Arguing and raising thier voice at me about my questions just to transfer me to someone that politely and… respectfully answered my question right away. Getting info on loved ones will be very difficult and frustrating. Everyone seems to be to busy to talk to patient family and we got not one call returned all week. Just kept calling till we get the person we needed to talk to to get answers.
At first, this facility appeared to be caring during the intake appointment. However, things changed quickly afterward. They didn’t take the time to thoroughly explore the root cause of my son’s issues. When I requested… that he stay a bit longer, they discharged him anyway. The discharge process was troubling. The nurse assisting us had visibly dirty fingernails and was trembling, which raised serious concerns. She rushed through the paperwork, provided minimal explanation, and sent us on our way. Later, when I called the facility with a question about a follow-up appointment, the staff member simply told me to “just read the paperwork.” Additionally, they failed to send my son’s records to his primary care provider and didn’t explain the outpatient program they enrolled him in. Thankfully, we found another facility that took the time to understand my son’s situation. He’s now receiving the care he truly needs, and we finally have answers.
The day shift staff and most of the night shift was nice. The one nurse cursed at me and raised her voice when I asked her if I could have an alternative snack as I have dietary restrictions. This *hospital* will not… meet your dietary requirements if you have GI issues/limitations and require alternative foods and supplements (me), or have other health issues. I knew of 3 other people on my unit, two who definitely had more serious requirements, and they weren’t getting those health needs met. Staff just kept saying no, but they hardly explain why they can’t accommodate dietary restrictions that any other hospital could the second you arrive as a patient. My doctor at one point heard that some of the staff were giving me trouble with my dietary requirements so she snuck a handful of snacks to me and had me hide them in my room. You know how big of a deal that is? That’s considered contraband. Even the doctor was willing to do that for me. Only mentioning this because they did at least find out about the snacks. I wasn’t allowed to have an Ensure until the day before my discharge. I lost 10 pounds while I was there. Avoid at all costs and go to Vanderbilt if you have a diet restriction, or think you’ll go crazy not being allowed visitors. At least it’s not Rolling Hills. I could say more about what we as patients considered elder abuse with two of our elderly friends there, but I wouldn’t want to share their information or experience of course. Just throwing in that hint. Still would like to thank my nurses even though they contributed to the elderly patients’ lack of care…? I still don’t know how to feel about our experiences there. I made great friends and all of the patients were absolutely incredible, lovely people
