Apex saved my life. The staff and people are like a family. I was met with love, understanding and compassion. I would like to give a special shout-out to Kayla Sharp. Without her I honestly don't know where I would be… today.. Thank u Kayla! I love u like a sister..

It is my hope that nobody else has to experience what I did with this business. I do not give consent for Apex Recovery to reply publicly to this review or on any public forum regarding my care. Public response… regarding details of my care from Apex Recovery would be done so in violation of HIPAA. The night of my arrival to Apex Recovery, the only nurse on my wing left mid-shift because they were upset with management. They did not simply just leave, they left with the key to the medical cart which contained all of the patients’ medications on my wing of the building. As a result, there was no medical staff available that night on the wing that I was on. This nurse was not fired for this inexcusable behavior, as I saw her back at work before I left Apex. The “medical care” I received at Apex was by far the worst I have experienced in my entire life. The nurse practitioner overseeing my case would not submit her notes prior to leaving for the day. When I would go to the nursing station for medication, the nurses would ask me what drugs I wanted. I would reply with asking them to please refer to the medical notes from the nurse practitioner that I spent 30 minutes talking to earlier in the day. There would be no notes available. When I questioned why, I was told that they are short staffed and that the nurse practitioner is very busy. Overall, I felt unsafe in this facility and I echo the other people who have left reviews stating that they felt like their case was not being managed appropriately. In addition to the experiences stated above, I was discharged from Apex prematurely. I was told to pack my bags and arrange to be picked up immediately. I was picked up and was given around 8 bags of different medications because I was very sick but Apex was discharging me without a legitimate explanation. My family received a call a couple hours later from vice president of Apex, Branch Atkisson. He stated that I was discharged by mistake. Being discharged "by mistake" is incredibly unprofessional and disappointing. I had to go to the emergency room as a result of all the medications I was put on at Apex and being discharged prematurely. The emergency room doctor was extremely concerned with the medications that Apex sent me home with and he gave me a plan to get off of them. If you are considering Apex, please do not trust your health with this establishment. There are several other options in the middle Tennessee area that appear reputable. My experience with them demonstrated that they are not equipped to provide safe or effective care and are reckless in their management of care.

This is the absolute worst place to go for mental health. Their solution to every problem is pills and whenever you bring up a concern they will label you as depressive, angry, or bipolar. Using that they will then go… lie to you and tour family trying to make you seem crazy so you cant leave. This place is not safe in any way shape or form for women, they have men sleeping on the women's hall, men going into women's rooms at night and men doing whatever they want on those couches. The clients were great and i got more out of speaking with them than any counsler or therapist in that building. Long story short do not come here for anything mental related.

Apex recovery is an amazing treatment facility. Melissa Golden is an amazing connection and is willing to help any and everybody, 24/7. I work with VBH as their walk in coordinator and she is always so helpful and… willing to help even if she can’t accept them :)

The services provided are exceptional, the food is delectable, and the energy is invigorating. Hayley stands out as the most proficient therapist, Sean as the most dedicated Resident Supervisor, and Josh as the most… skilled instructor. The principle of “you get what you put in” holds true here. I invested significant effort and received outcomes that surpassed my expectations. There are no substantial complaints, the only feedback I can give is overwhelmingly positive and complimentary. Upon reviewing the negative reviews, I found it challenging to relate to the sentiments expressed. The tone and content of these reviews alone lead me to approach them with skepticism.

Jessica was the case manager at Apex that my sister was assigned to while was she was there. she has been great and on top of her job while working with my sister Alexis. She was always ready to answer questions and she… kept me well informed i pray that God will continue to bless her and this facility while ministering to those awhile are in need of whatever kind of recovery

I checked myself in and was met with many people to say hello. I was told by admitting people that I ewould meet with a doctor and a therapist the next day. Had to do intake 4 times.i did not get my medications that… night and had to plead for them. Finally met doctor day 4 or 5 met therapist on the day I decided to leave. Classes kept me busy and they all were good. I did not get to have my glucose monitor or my BP med until my BP was higher than ever been. I will say bed was okay but Bathroom did not have fan or heat but showering was fine. I have IBS so I was uncomfortable using the bathroom and smelling it up for my roommate. Inpatients were very friendly and the staff were great. I just didn’t feel priority coming in with my situation and not getting the doctor next day and he took meds a way with no explanation and I could not get my meds on the schedule I always had which throw me off with everything. Nurses were great and tried to help but they didn’t always get responses from doctors etc after 5. The classes did help me I learned a lot about why I got to that lowest point and how to resolve my triggers myself. For those who have Alcohol and drug problems this center is very good. I had acute grief for the loss of my husband of 51 yrs that was everything to me. Most all the staff were kind and understanding. New patients need to be prioritized specially with medications when drs have put you on thing you have taken for long period you can’t just stop with no explanation why and another suggestion made. For example a sleep medication your used to having.

My experience at Apex in October truly changed my life. I’m proud to say that I’m still sober today, and my life is so much better because of the support I received there. My therapist, Eleanor, was absolutely amazing… and made my stay so much more enjoyable. Her arts and crafts groups always had deeper meaning behind them and really helped me open up and heal in ways I didn’t expect. Hailey wasn’t my therapist, but she was always there whenever I needed someone, and I loved when she and Eleanor did groups together. Their energy and support made such a difference during my time there. I also want to recognize the RS staff — Tim, Val, Herb, and Jaycee — who were all incredible and always available whenever I needed help or support. Every nurse I interacted with was kind and caring as well. A special thank you to the nurse practitioner, Deressa, who was the absolute best. Anytime I needed medication adjustments, she handled it quickly, and she also took the time to listen whenever I just needed to vent. Everyone at Apex taught me things that I still use in my daily life. I’m beyond grateful for the care, compassion, and support I received there. Sorry if I left anyone off — I can honestly say I didn’t have a bad experience with anyone there, so if I didn’t name you, charge it to my head and not my heart. ❤️

I just want to say thank you to all the staff at Apex in Columbia for helping my son to recover. Thank you to Jess and Braxton for advocating for my son and a very special thank you to Kimberly who has gone above and… beyond to help him in every way. My son was injured and at a very young age while working as a landscaper through high School and he has struggled with addiction for many years because of the injury to his back. He had surgery at the age of 21 and he was traumatized. He lost his father in a car wreck when he was 9 years old and recently lost his grandmother who was the love of his life and he missed a lot of time with her before she passed away because of his addiction and it is because of the special people from Apex that helped him to move forward with hope for his future. I know without a shadow of a doubt that these special people from Apex along with their staff, Michael, Kenny, and Tristan where God sent to him during a very difficult time in his life and I cannot possibly thank them enough. Also thank you very much to Alex at Sheeps to Shepherd's for giving my son the guidance that he's so desperately needed.

Kayla Shank, Elenore Hancock, Haley Holt, and Casey Campbell were all such a great help during my time here. They made me more comfortable, taught me ways to handle by anxiety, and how to become an overall better… person. Also the RS staff were amazing; Sean, Tony, Jonnie, and Tim, and Alicia Were instrumental in my recovery. Also thanks to all the hardworking nurse staff.

I work closely with Melissa Golden helping people get into treatment and find appropriate placement for their needs. The way she operates from a place of compassion and always advocates for the person seeking treatment… is a beautiful thing!

I went to Apex in April of 2025 and it really did change my life. I have been to treatment a ridiculous amount of times and this place truly is the best place I have ever been to. If it wasn't for all of the staff being… so caring, encouraging and just engaging with you the way they do I wouldn't have made it this time. Just to name a few of the wonderful staff - Eleanor the best counselor, Kayla head RS, Brexton case manager, Mason Sharp VIOP Counselor and all the rest of the RS staff because not one of them were ever rude, negative or unpleasant to be around. After I completed inpatient treatment I did virtual IOP and that also had a major impact on my sobriety after treatment. On April 16th 2026, I celebrated my first year ever of sobriety!! If you are looking for treatment but don't know which pace to go to, try this place because they really are all life-changers. I couldn't have done this without them.

Going to Apex Recovery is one of the best decisions I have ever made. The staff there are all truly caring and quite knowledgeable about recovery. From the minute I stepped foot in the door, I felt like I was seen and… genuinely cared for. I left there with a new lease on life, a toolbox to help me stay clean, and lots of new friends also in recovery. My counselors were outstanding! (Shout out to Jess, Mason, Cortlan, Herb, Val, and Swope, to name a few!) If you are in need of recovery, Apex is the place to go!

We are close with someone who received treatment at Apex and had a wonderful experience. A counselor there named Jess was especially helpful. Very thankful!
