An intensive outpatient program in Tennessee is scheduled treatment for a substance use disorder that meets for several hours on several days each week while the person keeps living at home. In the ASAM Criteria, the national placement standard published by the American Society of Addiction Medicine, intensive outpatient (IOP) care is level 2.1.
