I began the PHP 4 week program (intimacy disorder) this summer. I was a little nervous at the beginning because I'd be living with 7-8 other guys in recovery and if there would be any systems and organization in place.… Needless to say, this program helped me out so much. It was the safest, most comfortable, most encouraging world I had the privilege to be a part of for 4 weeks. In the PHP house, EVERYTHING is labeled. Everyone has their own space to store items and food. The lunch food is incredible, even for vegetarians (I'm not one but saw other guys who were content). The RA's are professional, accommodating, and very knowledgeable about recovery and what support looks like, even during the weekends. The morning and afternoon therapy sessions are intentional and grounding. There's also so many early morning and evening recovery meetings (AA, SAA, SLAA. ACA, Dharma) 5-15 minutes nearby the ILC location, making recovery even more accessible outside of the normal schedule. I can't thank you all enough for providing me the help I needed to continue recover and repair my marriage. THANK YOU ILC! Huge shout out to Gregory, JD, Emily, Luke, Chase, Caroline, Rachel, Anna, Kit, Steven, Jordan, Ron, Ryan, Tyeler, and Sara!
I completed a 28 day residential program and my time with ILC was deeply healing. Their approach to trauma recovery integrates mind body and spirit. The professionals were capable and caring and the fellowship with… other men in the program was truly special. We stay in touch even after completing the program and moving on our separate ways. Highly recommended for treating trauma and or addiction.
I had a great experience except for Sara the RA. She was horrible, disrespectful, rude, and made me feel repeatedly unsafe. I would recommend this place unless Sara the RA is still working there- I deeply suggest you… ask about her place there before you admit.
I truly cannot say enough good things about Integrative Life Center. Walking through the doors was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made, and leaving, I can honestly say my life has changed for the better. From day… one, every single staff member made me feel seen, supported, and genuinely cared for. The therapists are incredibly knowledgeable, compassionate, and dedicated to helping each person heal. They don’t just treat you like another patient—they take the time to understand your story, meet you where you are, and help you build the tools you need to move forward. The environment is warm, welcoming, and safe, making it possible to be vulnerable and do the hard work that real healing requires. Every group session, individual therapy session, and interaction with the staff contributed to my growth in some way. I learned healthier coping skills, gained a better understanding of myself, and left with so much more hope and confidence than I had when I arrived. What really sets Integrative Life Center apart is the people. Every therapist, tech, nurse, and staff member truly cares about the clients and goes above and beyond to make sure everyone feels supported. Their kindness, patience, encouragement, and genuine compassion made an enormous difference in my recovery. This experience has been genuinely life-changing. I came in feeling lost, overwhelmed, and unsure of what my future would look like. I’m leaving with a renewed sense of purpose, healthier ways to navigate life’s challenges, and a support system that I’ll always be grateful for. Thank you to everyone at Integrative Life Center for believing in me, encouraging me, and helping me become a stronger, healthier version of myself. I will always be grateful for everything you did for me. If you’re considering treatment here, I cannot recommend it enough. It truly has the potential to change your life.
After completing all three levels of care at ILC, my experience was mixed. The positives: William was the best therapist I’ve ever worked with and was the primary reason I stayed as long as I did. Lexie and Michele were… also excellent facilitators. Same goes for Michaela, the food coordinator, who consistently went above and beyond to accommodate my dietary needs. The biggest weakness however was the lack of depth in treatment. There was a heavy focus on psychoeducation and lot of time wasted on check in’s (would often take the bulk of, if not the entirety of the allotted group time!) but very little experiential work or practical guidance on how to apply what was being taught. Furthermore, In PHP and IOP, the time spent on check-ins was insane, with very little time on actual therapy, making groups feel dull and unproductive. But my biggest disappointment was the nurse in PHP/IOP. Britney is impatient, dismissive, and disrespectful toward clients. Downright snarky even. People in treatment deserve to be treated with dignity and respect, and that was not my experience with her. Yes, ILC has some exceptional individuals, but the overall program is sorely lacking and would benefit from stronger group facilitation.
The community is great and some of therapists are great too. so lets start with the positive. being in group therapy has helped me so much and i met amazing girls in the process. I see progress and the schedule was… helpful for discipline. JD you are an amazing RA thank you. Michelle, thank you for letting the group vent on our frustrations with ILC and thank you for your psycho ED. Unfortunatly it is extremely disorganize. on my first day i was send to group and no one told me the schedule or where to go to eat (its another building) or when or where to come back. thats unfortunatly the experience i have heard from every other girls during all my time there. i didnt have a schedule for the first week. no staff talks to each other so you need to ask the same thing over and over again to find out it was never done by the people you talked to. Sometimes i asked more than 10 staff for something and nothing. Therapy that are promised on the web site are very difficult to get and also to an extra cost that is not indicated on the web site. Most of the mornings groups are only check ins for 3 hours, no psycho ed and no somatic work. So if you are IOP, most likely its going to only be check ins 90% of the time. I asked for emdr the first week and only got it week 8 or 9 and thats only because i never stop asking for it otherwise i wouldnt have got any. talking about the weekly session, some week i would not get my one on one appointment with my therapist and nothing was done about it. Hippa was violated many times in my case, by therapist and other staff. nurse : They drew my blood and forgot to order the test, medication error for me and other girls that would push us to be in withdraw from our meds. Cleanliness : Something that i have seen also is the cleanliness of the treatment center and housing is really not good! Windows were broken even during winter. One of the room of the treatment center where we have the group therapy and in one of the bedroom in housing and still not repaired. chairs, walls, the one blanket available and the floor are not clean. picture frame and dust bunnies were there, on the floor when i started and where still there on my last day. Housing : girls coming in the bedrooms would have to clean the room themself and their bathroom, on their first day if they wanted to have a clean place because it was never done before them. no hangers and dirty drawers, just dirty everywhere. In the housing, RA would not be there every day so you only breathlize when they are there which very often means you didnt have to on friday and saturday. The contract says they provide transportation for meeting but all i have heard from the girls was it was not possible to get it 99% of the time. Structure didnt make any sense, they would count even your underwear when you came in (which is INSANE) then people could easily sneak in anything they wanted in the house even alcohol and needles after their initial move in the house. getting urgent help in the housing would be near impossible. i was very lucky that in my case the first time i asked i was able to talk with someone and im eternally grateful for it but the second time i asked i waited all day, for an emergency. i know other girls who had a crisis in the house during the night that were not able to talk with anyone, luckily nothing happend. this place has A LOT of work to do. theres a real disconnect between administration and the center itself. I would always have to talk with the new girls on their first week because they wanted to leave and i would always tell them, its worth it for the community. Please ILC, you have something that can be really good, that can help people. Please invest time to immerse in the enviroment and see what needs to change. Please invest money to provide RA in the house at night and cleaners in between girls, and supply for the house. im grateful for my time there but i wouldnt say it was worth the money at all
I am a Clinical Psychologist and a managing partner at a group practice in Chicago, IL and ILC has been excellent to work with. I had the opportunity to meet with their clinical team and they are committed to providing… personalized care for each of their patients. I highly recommend them for addictions treatment.
I attended ILC’s residential program over the past month. While their framework and ideology of healing is fantastic, their delivery and follow-through is subpar, which is very unfortunate because there is a lot of… value in their services WHEN they are provided. I discharged with no EMDR, which was promised to me in my initial phone call. Unfortunately, the disorganized case management and lack of communication between both the patient and the overall treatment team was a huge interruption in my time here. I would only recommend this place to someone both unfamiliar and new to therapy whose insurance will pay for it, but as an out-of-pocket, seasoned patient, the experience was not worth the money. Huge shoutout to the RA’s, their genuine care and concern was palpable. RA’s like Alexis, T, and Kelby made the experience much more bearable.
Cannot recommend highly enough. Knowledgeable professionals who actually give a shit about making changes at the roots, not trimming bad fruit. The world would be a better place if everyone could have a dose of what is… offered here. Strength from within and through community. Top notch and I am forever grateful.
UPDATE – 11/13/2025 Well, two years out of the program, and I get an alumni survey supposedly from the CEO, Wes Crawford. It was obviously not from him and even offered a gift card for completing it. Best part? I try to… open the link, and the survey has ended. I got the email less than 24 hours ago—how’s that possible? This is the only communication I’ve received from ILC since I left—no follow-up on my original review, no contact after my exit interview with ILC staff—and from what I’m reading in the more current reviews, things haven’t gotten better. I can’t recommend this facility to anyone. Of the few residents I’ve kept in touch with, they all had similar experiences to mine, and it is not worth the $40,000 cost to attend (at my time and without insurance). I recommend finding a good church group and local therapist, as these have helped me far more than ILC ever did. Original Review I was a patient at ILC for their residency program, attending for a full month. During my time there, multiple mistakes were made, causing me to lose tremendous amounts of precious time in both group and one-on-one sessions that were completely avoidable due to clerical and medical errors by the staff. I essentially lost the entire first week I was there due to not having the proper medications that I had been prescribed prior to attending ILC. Additionally, there was no information given to clients about who or what to contact to escalate issues. The interactions and group sessions—especially the off-site ones—were dramatically oversold and under-delivered on their effectiveness. Within four days of leaving the program, I had already relapsed, with no aftercare support available. No local therapists could be found who were accepting new patients, and I was essentially instructed that I would have to do any kind of therapy online. Had I been able to stay another week, I might have been in a good enough position to return home successfully. But due to the first week’s loss and being set back 7 to 10 days out of a 28-day program because of clerical and medical issues, I wouldn’t recommend the facility. It’s poorly organized despite having some amazing therapists and staff members.
I love working with Jaime Gibbons. She is compassionate, energetic, and dedicated to making ILC a great place to refer to.
Therapists at residential were exceptional. Operational staff relatively incompetent. PHP therapists/group staff were hit or miss. Overall; extremely poor case management, but quality treatment from (especially at… residential)
Great staff, good people, strong program.
There are no words to describe my disappointment. The program was disorganized, changing therapists in the middle of my program. Testing results were not reviewed until weeks after their return. ADD testing was… administered, but then told results were skewed be cause of past ECT. There never seemed to be a treatment plan specific to me. After paying close to $30,000, self pay, I most definitely did not receive my money’s worth. I was offered a free week of care to compensate for the issues, mich to my dismay.
This experience saved my life. I have no words how grateful I am to ILC. Thank you so much!
I just got home today from my 28 day mental health program at ILC. It was life changing. From the therapists to the RA’s to the culinary team, I am honored to say I know them. I can’t believe that in only a month I have… gone from wanting to end it all to wanting to hit the refresh button and get this show of life on the road again. Thank you ILC. I won’t ever forget this.
I had the privilege of visiting this treatment center in Nashville, TN, and I cannot say enough about the level of care, professionalism, and dedication I experienced. The staff is incredibly knowledgeable,… compassionate, and truly invested in the well-being of each individual. From the moment I walked in, I felt welcomed and supported by a team that clearly prioritizes healing and long-term success. The facility itself is clean, well-maintained, and designed to foster a sense of safety and serenity. They offer a wide range of healing modalities, including breathwork and Kali sticks, an EMDR-inspired treatment that provides a unique and effective approach to trauma processing. With trained therapists available for both group and individual therapy, I felt that every aspect of treatment was handled with intentionality and expertise. I also saw the individualized treatment planning while fostering group cohesion and autonomy amidst people in program. One of the aspects that stood out most to me was their commitment to continuity of care. Their alumni program ensures that individuals who complete residential treatment continue receiving support, rather than feeling abandoned once they transition out. This ongoing engagement speaks volumes about their dedication to long-term recovery. Many of my current clients who have visited other treatment centers have reported feeling abandoned by other facilities, but this facility is designed with follow-up protocols in place. Additionally, their focus on nutrition and dietary needs is exceptional. Regardless of someone's dietary restrictions or preferences, there is flexibility for them to meet a variety of dietary needs/concerns. With a specialized team addressing eating disorders and co-occurring conditions, they provide a well-rounded approach to healing that considers both physical and mental well-being. Their expertise spans intimacy disorders, substance use disorders, and treatment for depression, anxiety, and trauma. It’s evident that this center operates with great care and intentionality. Every aspect of their program is thoughtfully designed to support healing, and I highly recommend them to anyone seeking a compassionate, professional, and well-rounded treatment experience.
My experience at ILC was life-changing, without a doubt. I attended the in-patient program for 28 days, then transitioned to PHP and ultimately IOP over the following two months. The staff, facilities, and environment… at each level were all top-notch. ILC’s wholistic, trauma-based approach offered a multitude of tools and strategies to live a happier and healthier life moving forward. I don’t have one bad thing to say about ILC, and I would highly recommend their program to anyone looking to transform their life.
What a nightmare this place is. If you’re black I highly recommend looking else where. My first week I experienced lots of bullying. Lots of racists jokes were said by a few clients. During my second week, i got… prescribed a medication that made me so sick to the point I was on the floor in a ball. I went to the ER 3 times and I later found out through few residents and an RA staff member that nobody believed I was sick despite me throwing up non stop and being FORCED to show them my vomit. I was still forced to go to groups despite having 3 Doctors Notes saying I was ill. When I brought that up The Day RA staff said they had no clue what I was talking about when the Night Staff also specifically told them I could sit out. I felt very targeted. I’m sadden to write this review because I was blessed with a grant to come here for my recovery! I highly suggest looking else where. :/
Can’t say enough great things about ILC. A close relative attended Residential and PHP, and it was a game-changer for him. From the very proactive and caring staff (Admissions to Case Managers to Therapists, especially… Greg, Liz, Lindsay, Cheryl, Dave, Declan) to the top-notch experiential therapy to the compassion and caring of fellow patients, my relative gained so much from attending ILC - quite frankly, I believe it saved his life. Thank you so much ILC family - will always remember and be grateful for your compassion, experience, expertise and support.
ILC has employees that truly care about the clients that come here. My experience there was nothing but positive, and it always felt like a place of love and healing. They really know what compassionate care is!
I went to both the residential program and the outpatient program (PHP and IOP) here, and while i personally had a great experience in residential, the moment i got into PHP i saw a VASTLY different experience. In PHP,… there were people overdosing and leaving the house to get drugs, the medication was completely mismanaged, the therapists were really bad and clearly inexperienced (with the exception of maybe 1), and not to mention i had two friends who complained about the horrific mismanagement and malpractice and they got kicked out of the program and essentially tossed on the street with no housing or help in the middle of Nashville where they do not live. Overall PHP was a scary place lol. In terms of residential (the women’s Morningstar houses), I had a much better experience with an amazing therapist (who doesn’t work there anymore lol) and my house was full of people I still talk to today because we bonded so much but there were still lots of cons at residential: medication mismanagement, inexperienced caseworkers, staff changeovers causing people’s treatment to be delayed and messed up, safety issues and staff being unable to handle meltdowns in group settings that were very triggering to the rest of the group, and i could probably think of more. I want to leave a good review because I personally had a good time at residential but I think that was because of the beautiful house and nature, and my friends there. The things I saw other people go through make it so i cannot in good conscience recommend this place to anyone else.
No treatment center will ever be perfect and there will always be things that one can find to criticize or complain about because providing care in a treatment setting that's PERFECTLY tailored for each individual is… literally impossible. But ILC rises to this challenge as best they can. I have been out of treatment for 3 plus years now and I still see the general practitioner I met while under their care and the same therapist (though she now works at NCCC and not ILC). There were many employees of ILC that truly made lasting impressions on me and cracked my heart wide open in the best of ways. When I got to ILC I was really only showing up there because I felt I didn't have any other option....it wasn't because sobriety or healing were things I was actively pursuing or even felt capable of if I am being honest. But somehow over a few months in residential, followed by a couple months in PHP then IOP (which I would HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend to anyone debating whether to go through all stages of the step down process once "graduating" from redidential) sobriety and healing became priorities, goals, and eventually accomplishments/lifestyles I was committed to. I know for me, I will have to continue to trust the process, do the work, continue to adapt and grow when things stall out or I feel myself tempted to slide back into old comfortable patterns, toxic as they may be...probably for the rest of my life. But ILC provided me with the community (both with specific people that have become incredibly dear to me personally or instrumental in my care provider wise) but also with the tools to and contacts to continue walking the path of recovery and never feel like I have to do it alone.
I was in ILC for a few months and I never thought I’d be saying that I had a good experience in treatment. The staff were amazing and created a safe environment for me to open up for the first time ever which then led… into the start of my healing journey (although at the time i didn’t know it). Highly recommended ILC to literally anyone seeking out treatment!
My experience at ILC helped me build a lasting foundation of recovery that has saved my life and allowed me to build a compassionate relationship with myself that continues to grow to this day. I learned here how to… understand and appreciate my thoughts and emotions. I made friendships that, to this day, set the example for what it means to be open and honest with myself and with others. Without the guidance and support I received ILC, I would not be the person I am proud to be today.
ILC is an incredible treatment center for anyone struggling with mental health and/or substance use. I would send a love one here in a heartbeat.
