I was a patient for many years. Almost a decade. When my dr left (as he should have covenant is awful to work for) I had nothing but issues, one of my meds made me stop breathing while sleeping. I called for over 3… weeks. I spoke to a lady name Jessica who told me she was an RN and could help me. As I explained what was happening to me and how many times I had called she informed me of just kidding I’m not an RN but you’re telling me you’ve called for weeks?! That’s not my problem and I don’t like how you talk… I’m disconnecting this call. This happened for a week. I always got her and as soon as I said my name she would say IM DISCONNECTING THIS CALL!! I am unsure if she personally knows me and just dislikes me, or if she treats everyone this way. I had no choice but to file a grievance against them and her specifically, if she is a licensed anything, it needs board review! I would advise everyone to do a grievance if you too have endured this, I had to switch practices since Jessica wouldn’t even allow me to make an appt. I went NO meds for 10 weeks. My new dr would never, his staff also wouldn’t disconnect calls after posing as a RN when your not. I am unsure on who Jessica is but she needs pennisula’s therapy services desperately. I’ll let you know outcome of my grievnece! Everyone needs to file one! Name the people you’ve dealt with and every issue you’ve had, they do legally have to investigate the facility. This one needs investigating.

Since end of December, early January I seen a new nurse practitioner every 3 months and each time they had their own opinion and would change my meds. By late July, and being so confused on what's I was supposed to… take, keep taking, and stop taking I ran out and ended going cold turkey for the first time ever .called them to see if could see supposedly new appointed actual doctor. Nope, explained out of medicine. Nope. Went 3 1/2 weeks with medication. Finally see her, her opinion and mind on my diagnosis (which is different than all the other's I had seen so far in 2026). She wouldn't listen to what I would like to do or be on that has worked. She pushed meds I've never heard but we're new to the market. Started med she wanted and now I will be back at square one since it's not working and forming a bad side effect from it.

I've been a patient here for years now and have had NOTHING but trouble out of this place. I was called 4 weeks in a row and rescheduled by an employee there, only to be told the appointment they scheduled was NOT going… to work for my provider. I've been placed on hold with this facility several times for more than 15 mins at a time as well. 10 out of 10 would NOT recommend. This place is terrible for anyone's mental health.

If I could give this place negative 20 stars I would. They cancel your appointments and then reschedule them and then you go without meds for so long because they can’t get their crap together. Unorganized.… Unprofessional. Sloppy. Irresponsible. And simply do not care. This place is what you call a joke. That’s why it has a 2.2. The only thing good about it is the Dr. my children see.

As of 2/13/2026, Covenant Health implemented a system-wide policy change that eliminated all long‑term therapy at Peninsula Behavioral Health in Knoxville, TN. Peninsula is a division of Covenant Health, and this… directive came from Covenant’s corporate leadership not from the clinicians providing care. Under this new policy, every existing long‑term therapy client was abruptly shifted into short‑term therapy with a strict 20‑session limit, followed by a mandatory one‑year ban from returning. This change was made without advance notice, transparency, or any plan to ensure continuity of care for people who depend on stable, ongoing support. Therapists were not given the authority to make exceptions based on clinical need, and clients were left to manage the consequences of a corporate decision that directly disrupted their treatment. The rollout has been poorly handled and has caused significant destabilization for many in the community. If you are seeking consistent, long‑term therapy, be aware that Covenant Health no longer allows Peninsula to provide it. This policy represents a major reduction in available mental health services in the region and has left many clients feeling abruptly cut off and unsupported.

Peninsula has a bad habit of dumping those with mental health at KARM which is severely limited on all resources. Relapse is guaranteed!

If i could vote lower i would, every single time i get a new appointment afterwards im given a new psychiatrist very shortly because even their staff wants OUT. They never have openings for my insurance which admittedly… isnt their fault, but they have not provided any resources for me to get treatment at a better facility.

If i could give a minus 5 stars i would. Their facility and I call it that because there is no medical or mental health care that occurs at that place. All the doctor and nurse practitioners have left and care has… totally disappeared. The big beautiful healthcare bill or not you still have a service to provide to your patients or former patients because we are all without. Words will not express how I really feel but my son is the one that has to suffer. The pharmacy on the other hand is excellent.

Be warned there's an "indefinite wait list" for certain specialties due to the lack of funding and therefore lack of physicians. Staff are trying their best but the need is overwhelming their resources.

I would just like to give recognition to the nurse Mikayla for always going above and beyond to make sure medications are refilled, messages are taken and delivered properly. Especially if there is a mistake or issue,… she always gets to the bottom of it and gets corrected promptly. My step mother is a patient and just like today, there was a miscommunication with the pharmacy and her refill. Mikayla found the issue, and is having it called in this afternoon. The issue was a confusing one but Mikayla is smart, multitasked, and able to find and fix issues even if they appear there be correct on paper! It was a simple fix and she got the job done. Nothing is more frustrating than trying to figure out things on the phone when two or more parties are concerned. The doctor, the patient, the caregiver, the pharmacist, the call center message taker, etc.... Having access to a nurse line is wonderful and cuts out a lot of miscommunication especially with a wonderful nurse like Mikayla! This lady needs special recognition and a raise (hint hint) she has helped our family with several issues! A nurse like her should be acknowledged in a world full of complaints and bad reviews, it's nice to think to take time to give a good one! Well deserved, now they just need several more just like her especially in the call center (no comment) to be more effective in messaging and communication and/or the one(s) receiving them for prep to review..... I just told her that staff like her makes lives easier! When dealing with a mental health patient, there's no room for errors. A small issue can turn into a big one real quick without fast and efficient solutions! Thank you Mikayla!

Main doctor was on vacay so my relative was stuck there for 3 days before the main doctor returned for evaluation. Staff has zero autism spectrum training. Changed meds & didn’t talk to the patient’s psychiatrist.… Increased wrong medicine. Patient didn’t eat for 2 days, dietician doesn’t work on week-ends. Workers flirted with each other and ignored patients. Actual therapists were a little helpful. Go here as a last resort.

I have adhd and I went there and they tortured me with all this inappropriate medicine which ended up making me worse. The computer system got corrupted while I was going there and the hackers changed my diagnosis to… Schizoaffective Disorder and my doctor had just retired. The new Doctor didn't know what to do. To him, everything was a delusion or hallucinations. He finally came around and was fixing things, when the people who hacked the computers started harassing me at home online. These things really happen in this world. People aren't hallucinating or delusional when they experience harassment and espionage and terrorism. Your in denial and not paying attention if you don't notice that the news says this stuff all the time. Not all news is fake.
