Worst rehab ever!!!!!!!!

After working in the treatment space for a decade, it was hard to find a place where I could heal personally. I know every program with a good website, but few have substance. I’m also a bit strong willed at times.… Everyone met me where I was at and never pushed anything on me. Stephanie - I’ve known you for a long time and admire the team you have put together and your commitment to creating a place where women can heal. Danelle - You are one of those people that just gets me. You know what I’m thinking and I don’t even have to say it. Rev - You helped me find my God and my light again. Christina - You helped me find my voice again. To everyone else, thank you for being part of my healing journey. Each group, each session, each component played a part in my journey. I know the work is not done, AND I honor the work that has been done. I would send a friend or family member here in a second and I truly believe this is the best women’s mental health program in Southern California. ❤️

Amazing staff offering a variety of modalities that address mental health and substance use. I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a reset or ongoing mental health assistance. The staff care tremendously about… each individual and their personal journey.

Wow, this place is truly one of a kind. The staff and ownership really do care and go above and beyond for their clients. You can feel it right as you walk in. This center is so incredibly special in so many ways.

As I sit here going through my notebook and binder from my time at Sun County, I felt compelled to leave a review. My journey with Sun County began in August of last year with a single phone call. I previously worked in… admissions for treatment centers, so I understand how those calls often go. Many times you reach someone in a large office who doesn’t work directly at the facility and simply tells you whatever is needed to get you through the door. My experience with Sun County was completely different. When I called, Stephanie, one of the owners, answered the phone. She happened to be out at the time but still took the time to patiently answer every question I had. For the first time in nearly three years, I felt a real sense of hope. She also spoke with my father and a close friend who were helping me find treatment, and she was always patient and never pushy. I was nervous about traveling across the country and ended up pushing my admission date back more than once, but Stephanie never made me feel pressured or judged. From the moment I was picked up at the airport and brought to sober living, I felt safe and cared for. Stephanie and Danelle worked closely with me to figure out my insurance and how I could make my stay possible. I initially planned to stay for 30–45 days but ended up staying six months. The only reason I left when I did was because I needed to get back home to care for my animals. During my time there it became very clear that both Stephanie and Danelle genuinely care about the women in their program. My therapist, Jen, was incredible. She had an amazing ability to truly understand me and helped me begin to feel like myself again. My case manager, Ashley, was also a huge support, our sessions often felt like additional therapy, and she truly cared about my progress and where I would go next. Group therapy with Shanice also had a big impact on me. Her writing prompts and unique approach helped bring out a side of myself I had never really explored before. I arrived at Sun County feeling completely broken. After losing my husband, I had lost my sense of identity and didn’t know who I was anymore. Over time, I rebuilt my self-worth and learned to love myself again, something I hadn’t felt in years. Leaving was incredibly difficult. Going through my notes tonight made me realize just how much I grew during my time there. Sun County, and the women who work there, truly gave me my life back. I made solid friendships living in Ashland that I will have for the rest of my life. I will always be grateful for that, and I would wholeheartedly recommend this center to any woman who needs help.

I’m leaving this review after watching a close friend go through Sun County Wellness, and what she experienced was honestly disturbing. She did not receive the care or support she needed, and instead was subjected to… constant micromanagement and control by house management. The groups were monotonous, repetitive, and offered little real value. Rather than feeling therapeutic, the environment felt tense and punitive. The women running the program came across as mean-spirited and dismissive, not compassionate or supportive as you’d expect in a treatment setting. Instead of helping my friend heal, the program seemed to break her down. She actually left in worse shape than when she arrived. I would not recommend Sun County Wellness to anyone seeking genuine recovery. There are far better programs out there that actually care about their clients.

I reached out to Sun County wellness as I was struggling with anxiety, anger and mesopause/change of life issues. It was the best decision I made. Stephanie has a staff of people who are kind, talented and caring. All… of your needs are met and the focus on my mental health was top notch Groups are run professionally and I loved being apart of them. Your assigned a counselor and a caseworker. (Both were fantastic) I tiered from 5 days a week to 3 days to 1 They follow you through with care! I highly recommend Sun County Wellness!

If you’re looking for a tailored treatment experience sun county might be for you. Along with their helpful group therapy, the case managers and individual therapists really make this place a wholistic way to recover… from trauma or substance use. Give it a shot!

I went to Sun County Wellness to help me with my mental health. The staff, case manager, and therapist really helped me. Everybody was super nice. Also, I enjoyed yoga, art therapy, wolf therapy, acupuncture, and horse… therapy. I learned a lot about myself. I have definitely changed for the better.

The owner Stephanie actually was mean to me. She told me that I don’t deserve a key out because I made her place seem bad. I just complained about unfair treatment. The staff and owner will not listen to the clients but… they tell the clients they hear them but really gaslight them. If you are a client and like to speak up for yourself you are more likely to get in trouble or be on the watch list so I suggest not doing that. A client will complain about an issue such as being uncomfortable in a situation and they will keep you in that situation and tell you it will make you stronger and is part of your “healing journey” when some situations you should not be in at all. My therapist was great when we were in session but out of session and in group she was rude to me, yelled at me, and kicked me out of group. She was very unprofessional, no one should yell at you at a mental health facility ESPECIALLY YOUR THERAPIST. Like safe space? I think not.

I am extremely satisfied with the level of care I’ve received at Sun County wellness. I am originally from Boston and was in a very scary and dangerous place after a very long and drawn out drawn out divorce. I was… forced into homelessness that caused severe depression and trauma. I did some research and found a great residential center in Laguna Niguel that lead me to Sun County Wellness and this place has truly saved my life. All of the facilitators have been wonderful and I have truly enjoyed working with my therapist Jen. It feels nice to feel so supported and I would highly recommend this place to any woman in need of treatment whether it’s for mental health or substance use or both.

Amazing Staff, Amazing program. If you are a woman struggling, this is the place to help get you back on track. These ladies genuinely care about you. Your best self is their number one priority. With personalized… therapy & groups you will be treated with the utmost respect and importance.

This program is incredible. A very close friend of mine went here and the results were incredible. Immediately the staff was welcoming and it was clear that they care for their clients. She had been to multiple… treatments before but this one truly changed her life. The quality of treatment is second to none, I can’t recommend this program enough.

My time at Sun County Wellness was truly life-changing. The atmosphere was so warm and welcoming. I had a very hard time finding a place that I could feel comfortable opening up about my past and being able to work… through all of that there and in a facility where I truly felt I could trust in the process. I feel I’ve come so far from where I was. It had felt like I had hiked a mountain- made it to the very top- took a deep breath and I was able to walk down without fear. I felt so safe there. From the therapists to the program director, the owner, the case managers, and the staff! Every single person was compassionate, patient, and encouraging. They created such a safe space for me to heal, reflect, and rebuild my confidence. I left feeling stronger, more hopeful, and deeply grateful for the support I received. Everyone really cares about your healing and makes you feel safe and understood. I’m so grateful for everything I learned while I was there and the encouragement I received from the whole team. Sun County Wellness gave me a foundation for my recovery that I couldn’t have attained without them. I graduated from SCW after being there 5 months. I have never felt so at home, understood, and cared for. I felt apart… of a sisterhood for the first time in my life, which includes both the clients and staff. I regularly talk to the other clients I met there and consider them my best friends. The staff still reaches out to me, always asking how I’m doing post-treatment which means so much to me. I know that if I’m ever having trouble in my recovery, they will be there to support me. My therapist, Jen, was so superb I sought out her private practice once I graduated! Whenever I was having an issue or had a concern, I could easily seek out the directors who would go out of their way to make time to see me in their busy schedules. However large or small the issue, I was met with respect, care, and understanding. Even problems I was having in my personal life that were microscopic compared to what other clients were going through, Stephanie and Danelle always handled our conversations with great importance and gravity. I felt seen after these conversations which gave me reassurance I was in a program that prioritized both my well-being as well as the well-being of all their clients. I remember about two months into treatment at SCW I needed to part ways with my sponsor at the time. It was a little nerve wracking considering I was so fresh in my recovery. The same day I mentioned that to SCW, Stephanie got another sponsor lined up for me almost instantly. Without me even asking! I felt so genuinely cared for and I am still with that sponsor today. Even when you don’t ask for help, the staff can recognize when you are in need it. I graduated from this program a completely different person in all the best ways. The confidence, emotional intelligence, and connection I gained from this program has been the greatest gift. My experience here was priceless and I would recommend this program to anyone struggling with mental health and/or addiction. Thank you thank you thank you Sun County Wellness!

Sun County was a supportive, formative experience in my sobriety journey. Being surrounded by an all Women staff was so helpful in feeling comfortable off the bat, and led to rich relationships with fellow clients.… Highly recommend SCW for anyone looking to get help with their mental health or addiction issues.

I would give 10 stars if I could, I can’t say enough good things about this program. I sent a close family member here after years of struggling with addiction, trauma, and mental health challenges, and it’s been… nothing short of life-changing. From the very first phone call, I could tell this wasn’t just another treatment center — the staff truly care. They took the time to understand her story, meet her where she was, and build a treatment plan that actually addressed the root of her struggles. The fact that it’s a women’s-only program made all the difference. She felt safe, understood, and supported by other women who were walking a similar path. The trauma-informed approach and focus on mental health gave her tools to not only stay sober but to start healing from the inside out. The transformation I’ve seen in her — emotionally, mentally, and spiritually — is something I’ll be forever grateful for. If you have a loved one who’s struggling, this is the kind of place that truly changes lives. They don’t just help women recover; they help them rediscover who they are.

I came to Sun County Wellness when I was 12 months sober and looking for a healthy, supportive environment to continue building my life. I can honestly say it gave me everything I needed and more. The structure,… accountability, and positive energy in the houses made a huge difference in my recovery journey. The groups were incredibly helpful and taught me so much about myself, but what really made the experience special were the people — especially the women I lived with and my house manager, who was amazing. She led with compassion, understanding, and consistency, which helped me grow in ways I didn’t expect.

I am so grateful to have found SCW which helped me through a very difficult time in my life. As an all-women community I felt super safe and open to share, and I learned so much and healed so much through their… offerings. They offer different levels of care depending on your needs and I felt supported throughout my time. Thank you to all the amazing staff 💛

At Sun County, you have a voice and more than that, you build real, healing relationships. I’m beyond grateful for my time here; it genuinely saved my life.

Sun county wellness is an amazing program! Our clients at Montare BH who have completed our women’s trauma house have gone here and said that it was exactly what they needed. There is no other female outpatient that… I’ve seen in Southern California that is this caliber, they focus solely on women and make it a safe haven for them to go to, feel supported. They offer all forms of trauma therapy modalities including a self defense class. This is program to empower women and break them free from the chains of which people in the past may have placed them in. I would highly recommend this program to anyone, my family, my friends, anyone in need.
