This place is really bad and the staff there
Compassionate staff, all of whom are recovering addicts. If you stick and stay for the 11 month program, the statistics against you lessen. I'll be graduating in September. I just hope all the Medicaid cuts won't affect… the program
Isaiah house saved me! I was at the Shelley Center during the most difficult times of my life as I had breast cancer. I had a mastectomy on both sides. I hated myself. My appearance seemed awful in my eyes. Shelley… Center staff helped me work on fear and they went above and beyond to make sure I loved myself again. They went as far as to buy me my prosthetics so I could start loving myself again and feeling like a normal human being. They're not just an organization, they're a family. I couldn't have made it through the toughest time in my life without their love and support!
First day of detox they had my mother sign papers they knew she didn’t read and did not explain to her. signed her up for insurance and EBT, and then proceeded to Open her mail on October 21st the day she was supposed… to receive benefits and use those benefits immediately , they set a pin number for her and stole everything that she had in EBT. I was told they chose to take the ebt instead of billing her insurance which again was not spoken over with her or with me. She was not informed that she was even accepted for it let alone that they opened her mail and set her pin. She was not informed that they stole the money. They sent her a paper on November 5 from Isaiah house not from the ebt office with her card with zero dollar balance and expected her to pay for her food in outpatient or she wasn’t able to eat. When I called about the issue I was sent to voicemail multiple times and then when I finally received a call back I was met with a Natasha who rudely told me there was nothing I could do about it. They have been reported for fraud This is not the first time this is happened. Some of her housemates have gone through the same issue where they’ve been threatened to be kicked out of the house if they reported it. someone else I knew received monthly checks in which they took and spent and again did not tell anyone she even received them her mother had to have them write a check and send it back her or she would have taken legal action as well. (she had proof of all of this as well) The screenshot below is the transactions and the date the pin was set and money was taken as well as the most recent pin change my mother did on the 5th so they couldn’t take anymore. If you have loved ones here check EVERYTHING we’ve even had issues with them giving her belongings to other people.
Every single Isaiah house location is a fraud. They use being a “Christian based recovery” to make it seem like they’re honest trust worth people. If you don’t have insurance, that’s no problem to them because they’ll… happily sign you up for passport, which is an issue. Except the also SIGN YOU UP FOR FOOD STAMPS EVEN IF YOU SAY NO! Once they receive your food stamp card, they then use it to purchase items for the canteen. Those items are been sold back to you at a huge mark up. So they’re forcing you to sign up for food stamps that you don’t need they then take your card which you get no access to. They’ve been purchase items and then sell them back to you for cash.. pure fraud. Not to mention there’s about 30 people plus in each room that is about a 25 x 20 x 25 square-foot room These people are correct they’re disgusting and they should be out out of business
I had the opportunity to visit Patricia's place, where I met some outstanding individuals and formed meaningful connections. Although the staff had a few exceptional members, there were some inconsistencies. Michelle,… the lead nurse, was particularly noteworthy for her kindness and professionalism. However, I experienced some difficulties with the other nurses, including a delay in receiving my medication due to a simple oversight. Which lead me to have a miserable couple days. It appeared that some individuals received more favorable treatment based on how much they flirted or behavior. I also had a conversation with a gentleman who expressed concerns about being judged because of his addiction, so he told them he was an alcoholic when he was actually an iv user. They will treat you differently if you’re doing any thing other than alcohol. Furthermore, the facility's location may present challenges for minority groups also.(If you’re black be careful) Some staff members seemed more focused on career advancement than providing quality care.
My friend Harriet hunt graduated from here today and I'm so proud of her and all of the other graduates. This is a beautiful ceremony.
I got picked up from Lawrenceburg and it’s a shame when I try to go get help they say once I get there they are not qualified to take care of me. I’m diabetic and have neither legs but I can get around well and have a… prosthetic. They also mentioned I didn’t need to be there bile cause I was already clean but I went there in the first place because I was thinking about using again. I understand not being able to take care of my diabetic problems but them saying I didn’t need to stay there cause I wasn’t on drugs.
So let's talk about it! So I reached out to this facility for treatment for myself. I have no shame telling you this. I explained to them that I wanted to get help weening off of Kratom. I was in-between jobs so I… didn't have insurance. I went through the entire process of giving all my information and my situation. I was literally asking for help. This facility never called me back not ONE SINGLE TIME! No phone call, no email, no text , no nothing whatsoever! These facilities only care about how much money that they can make from you. That's it! That's absolutely thr truth! It's disgusting and awful that a place like this wouldn't even check on me, call to offer me other options, call to explain things to me! NOTHING WHATSOEVER! Not one phone call. It's awful and it's and insane that they claim they are helping people with issues and then treat a person who is absolutely reaching out by ignoring them !!! If your considering this facility, move on to another. And on top of all that !!!!! They claim to be Christian based and Godly. Lol ...... That that sink in. It's all about money and how much they can make off you. Do your research and move on to another facility.
Because of the love help and support of the staff program and God I am now sober and the woman God has plans for me to be! Great program staff and place of employment! I highly recommend if your seeking treatment this… is the place to come to. God is very much alive and certainly works through the staff
Christian affiliated. LGBT+/- friendly. Great place for recovery! They offer MAT & staff are made up of mostly men and women who also went through the program. It's so awesome, I don't wanna leave.
My son is in this place. I want you to help him rehabilitate. He calls me and says he's doing well. He never gained weight; he was always under 100 pounds, and today he says he weighs 127 pounds. 04/10/25
Great place to receive treatment as well as a great place to work and feel purpose. Def recommend for treatment as well as employment. I couldn't and wouldn't have made it to 2.5yrs sobriety without the love and support… Isaiah House has given me as well as God's grace and mercy.
When I walked into the Shelley Center, I felt like I could breath again! I was out of touch with reality and on an ankle monitor. Even the Judge didn't trust me to go where I was supposed to go. Over 2 years later, here… I am, sober, a genuine smile, not only happy but joyful, a trusted friend, family member and employee!
I've never been there but my brother has and he never said nothing but good things about them. I'm actually thinking of calling them myself.
My reviewing due to a situation that happened with this rehab because honestly I don’t think they seem to have it all together. While my husband is currently staying with them I have gone no contact for many reasons and… removed myself from his contact list and this worked for a few days but it wasn’t long before one of their staff members was messaging me on Facebook for my husband sending letters and pictures of him manipulation on my husbands part absolutely shame on him. However the staff member then attempted to manipulate me and tell me “please don’t call the rehab and tell them if you do I will lose my job I was just trying to help”. As a staff member for one he clearly knew what he was doing could very well cost him his job and from my understanding he’s been through this rehab as well. And while my situation is NOT a domestic violence situation what if it was what if he was messaging someone to convince them to give their husband another chance sending letters and pictures. Very unprofessional in so many different ways! When I reported it to them due to the holiday no one but the unit manager was available to talk to me took the information and said he would pass it along I’m posting this because who knows if this information will actually get to the correct person or if this was someone that would do exactly like this other guy did. This place needs some work and if people working for you have been through the program but still able to manipulate like this cross these kinds of line and work for you I’d be questioning if your doing things right or not. We all make mistakes but if you work in a rehab identifying manipulation especially with addiction should be pretty high on your qualification list. I don’t work at a rehab I’m simply married to an addict and can sure identify it. Do better!
I’m giving 2 stars because I have heard several successful stories about the Isaiah house as a whole. But I’m baffled at a choice of staff that you’ve chosen to represent this facility as well as being a mentor to… residents that are in recovery. I am an alumni of Recovery Kentucky and have 6 years of sobriety so I understand what it’s like to hurt and heal. The level of disrespect and degrading that I witnessed from a staff member is something that I pray isn’t a reflection of how residents are being treated. I also pray this attitude isn’t being condoned or depicted as a healthy form of recovery onto any residents. For me, treatment meant life or death. I know that’s what it means to everyone, so I take it seriously. As I’m sure all senior staff do as well. Feel free to reach out to me about this.
It truly was awful. Like a prison without bars. I was in a room with ppl that were charged with attempted murder, and kidnapping. The food was disgusting, various types of shredded or pressed pork 3 times a day, the… "patients" had to share cups to drink from. They made you take drugs that you didn't want or were not explained to what they did to you. There is no medical detox there. When I figured out what was happening, I told them to get me out of here and the best they could do is take me on a 100 mile trip to Downtown Louisville and drop me off at a homeless shelter, in the hood. I only lived 20 miles away. That was medically and ethically Irresponsible. I hope this fact I have posted doesn't get scrubbed too soon, I needed to express to the public what actually is going on at Isaiah house.
They were very nice and helpful and got my daughter in that day with in a couple hours grateful
Sub standard meals, they will steal your food stamps and sell them back to you in the canteen. Classes are also substandard. You leave how you came.
My Brother went there they charge for recovery thats bogus healing place and AA dont charge a dime this place is whack.
Spent the whole day trying to get admitted. 😞 Never called back said they got. My paperwork. Then they said they didn't. Not very God based for this dying woman who Just wanted to get well.
I’m not sure what they do in the facility but my biggest and only complaint is they are not very helpful to the people who call to check up on a patient. My fiancé has been in there for a few days now and I struggle so… much to get any information when I’m not sent straight to voicemail or if I even stay long enough on the line with somebody. Not very happy with that
