Columbus Regional Hospital – Columbus is recorded as offering residential treatment and intensive outpatient. Day programming is scheduled, with evenings spent at home. The right level of care is a clinical judgement rather than a preference, and an assessment should produce a defined answer.

Got me in a d got the stress test done in no time
I live in Illinois and my sister was having a cardiac procedure done. I called to just find out if she was ok because I’ve been worried all day. Whomever I spoke with wouldn’t tell me anything. On the website it says… doctors or recovery nurses can use their professional judgment and could have told me that my sister was ok but I had to wait all day until my other sister, who lives in Seymour, and also wasn’t on her chart as a contact, called and was told the surgery was a success and she’s staying overnight to be monitored. Apparently the person I spoke with was on a power trip and had zero empathy as I was worried and pacing all day. I worked in medical records, I’m aware of Hippa laws, as long as specific medical information is not released they can tell a sister that she is ok. That’s in no way against Hippa laws. I knew her date of birth, address, even her social security number, all I needed to hear were the words she’s ok, is that so hard to do? Shame on the woman, I wish I had gotten her name, who acted like a dictator and refused to tell me anything. But the person my other sister spoke with around 6pm used her judgement and even though her name and number wasn’t on my sisters chart she was able to let her know it was a success and she’s ok. I understand Hippa laws but I was not requesting medical information, I simply wanted to hear that she made it through surgery to put my mind at ease. Have a little compassion for relatives in another state worrying about their loved one.
They have radiologists on staff, but they send out the results to be read by an outside source. I had my annual lung scan (it's supposed to be $25.00, and they don't bill the insurance), but they fail to tell you that… they send them out, so you end up with a surprise bill! I will make sure that this doesn't happen again!
I wouldn't take my worst enemy here. Got questions? Don't bother asking, you will not get answers. I am guessing it is going to take an attorney and depositions.
I am writing to file a formal complaint regarding a highly unprofessional and unlawful incident that occurred today, Monday, August 24, 2026, at approximately 10:30 AM at Information Desk 3.I arrived at the hospital… seeking orientation on how to schedule an appointment or access care for a painful medical issue. I am a Hispanic patient and a mother, and I was accompanied by my baby in her stroller. Because of the language barrier, I politely requested a Spanish interpreter to understand the hospital's procedures. The staff member at the desk, identified as "Yan," refused my request and began shouting at me in public. She loudly exposed my private medical situation in front of everyone in the waiting area, telling me that I did not belong there and had to go to the Emergency Room.As a patient, I felt completely humiliated, exposed, and discriminated against. This employee’s actions constitute a direct violation of:Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, which guarantees my right to language access and interpreter services in any federally funded healthcare facility.HIPAA Privacy Rules, by publicly disclosing and shouting my private health information in front of other visitors.I expect a thorough investigation into this matter and appropriate disciplinary action regarding this staff member. No patient should ever be subjected to public shaming and denied their legal right to an interpreter when seeking medical help.
If I were able to give less than 1 star, I would. My husband surprised me with a getaway for my birthday and brought me to Brown County. He suffered in pain and fever that began the night before the day we were to leave… for the trip. When I was able to convince him the day after our arrival that I felt this warranted a visit to the ER, we went to this hospital. After he was evaluated and diagnosed with diverticulitis that has resulted in one of the pouches bursting and a subsequent perforation of the bowel as well as an abscess in the lower left, he was admitted to the hospital and put on antibiotics. Surgeon would be coming in to further view the CT and speak with him. The PA said he was glad that my husband came as his situation can result in sepsis if not seen soon when this occurs. I drove the 40 mins back to our air b&b to pick up the items my husband had asked me to pick up, drove 40 mins back to the hospital and upon arrival in parking lot, my husband called and said that they had informed him that I would not be allowed to stay in the room with him due to them putting him in a room with another patient and it is against their rules. I went inside and explained that this is awful, unacceptable etc and asked if they could pls assist me in being able to stay with my husband. I was willing to sleep in a chair or whatever need be. The nurse at front desk in the ER was understanding and said she would see what she could do. They were not only not able to do anything to make it to where I could be with my husband if anything happened but I also could not even see him/speak to him face to face for a moment. So, my husband is having an extremely serious medical situation (one that in many cases has lead to death as it did when my husband’s grandfather had the exact same medical issue a few yrs back as my husband did today) and they are saying at this hospital that I can not stay with him. This could possibly be my husband’s last moments on earth if things took a turn. This hospital has less than 3 star reviews out of 385 reviews and I should feel comfortable in leaving my husband here in their care without me to look out for his best interests when he is not in a condition to be making major decisions or perhaps not in the most ideal, coherent state? They wouldn’t even allow me to leave his body pillow with him, his phone charger etc. I have lived in Indiana my entire life and have never heard of it being against rules for me to stay with him at hospitals in Indianapolis, Carmel, Noblesville, Kokomo, etc. If it is a privacy issue with another person being in the room then put him in a room alone. My husband was willing to sign himself out against medical advice until I told him that I learned he would have to sit in the ER waiting room at the other hospital and be evaluated again etc. and he was in pain, tired, not in any condition to have to do that. I told him to ask if they would be willing to initiate a transfer to the other hospital so that he would not have to go through all of that in his delicate condition and in the pain he was in. He did ask while I was on speaker phone and I heard the doctor’s reply which was cold, rude…. Not a good bedside manner for sure. Zero empathy or compassion. If this were his spouse, I am sure he would have wanted to be present especially in the event of his spouse being at a hospital with such poor reviews. Read the reviews. There was a young lady here at this hospital about 3-4 months ago that was leaking amniotic fluid and had been here several times with concerns that were not fully or adequately addressed. Shame on them. I will say the PA that we saw was nice as well as the nurses and I know that it is not their fault for whatever rules they are required to abide by but take my word for it and do not come to this hospital unless u want to be treated as just another number walking through the door rather than being treated with human compassion, kindness and empathy.
Tech Chacey, Dr Vogt. One word: PHENOMENAL. I had an appointment for an X-ray procedure that I was pretty nervous about. Chacey and Dr. Vogt were amazing throughout my entire experience. Both did an amazing job and made… the procedure as painless as possible. They deserve all the recognition!
This place is a sardine can. Rooms that are double rooms that were never meant to be. Don't think you're going to get any sleep as listen and smell your roommate 2 feet away. So much for being stressed free during heart… surgery. Piss poor management. Go to Community North or South but not here.
Thanks to IV therapy staff.
Never had such a difficult time getting an answer out of a simple 2 hour long test. "We can't give results over the phone, look at mychart." Then PUT THE RESULTS ON MYCHART. We paid for it, do your jobs.
Over $800 to show up for a sleep study. I have no idea who my doctor is. The nurse shows me a 5 min video gives me the at home equipment and that was it. All done in less than 10 min and even entering the building i got… looks that said they didn't want me there.
0 out of 10 would not recommend called to get my daughter's result. And the lady on the phone proceeded to laugh at me and told me she couldn't tell me Named key-onna / kianna !
I came in for a scheduled CT scan at 5:00 on a Thursday. Brittany is the lady who did my scan. She was great and listened to my needs in a very professional, respectful way! The contrast usually burns when it goes… through and this time I had minimal burning because she administered it slow. Thank you Brittany for a peaceful experience for getting my CT scan!! Keep up the good work!!
I come in fine out of town looking for where I need to go for my appointment, I was told it’s at suit j by the old mall. It didn’t help me one bit and I’m super lost. Wish the people working the desk that are the face… of the hospital wasn’t so rude
Had a recent surgery and had the best care i could have asked for. Doctors and anesthesialogist answered all my questions, IV was put on the first try, and they explained eveything clearly to my parents who were waiting… for me. They even called me the day afterwards to check in on how I was doing. Surgeon was available to answer any questions post sugery. The hospital was very clean and I was in and put the same day.
Went in just to be checked for a cyst i had near my side a few days ago before heading back home and when I went to be checked in the front desk ladies didn’t even acknowledge that I was waiting there, there was one… lady checking people in but the one next to her didn’t even acknowledge or look me in the eye. If you aren’t gonna help me atleast say something instead of making me feel ignored, just overall disrespectful and uninterested. If you’re gonna work in the medical field or a hospital atleast fake a smile or pretend to like your job
My gf and I went into the hospital last night, after she cut her finger on her chainsaw. This was a total accident, and she wasn’t even going to go to begin with! The nurses we had imo didn’t know what they were talking… about, and 95% of them do not!! I should’ve requested my friend Kay, I seen her behind the desk as soon as we walked into our room. The nurses cleaned off her thumb where she had cut down to the bone and they didn’t even check on this part of her finger. They didn’t even clean it up, or say anything about it. She got stitches on the other finger which was her thumb. I mean, tissue was down to the bone and when we mentioned she might’ve had nerve damage the nurse looked at her, and said, “it’s probably just your body going into shock.” We both looked at each other when she walked away, and were like, “that doesn’t sound right, she just doesn’t want to deal with it and she’s going to do and avoid what she can, to make her job easier. They don’t give a rats ass about you in here, it’s pathetic.” The other nurse, her assistant was coming in to clean it, and she didn’t clean the top of her finger only her thumb. I was just baffled. They took their sweet time, knowing that she had to be up at 4:50 in the morning, and we had to complain 4-5 times saying she was in pain, and the nurse that came in who worked in pharmaceutical was the one who said something to the doctor on call, who took care of her stitches and they should’ve given her more than one pain pill knowing, after the lidocaine worn off she was going to be in pain! They didn’t acknowledge her pointer finger, they were only worried about her thumb. I am not one to complain, ever but this hospital is PATHETIC. I wouldn’t take my dying loved one, here, if that tells you anything! It’s truly sad and sickening. I’m disappointed. Anytime, I walk into that hospital I come out upset, pissed off, angry, or disappointed. Do your job better, take more things serious, and if I ever have to come back in there again, I will be saying something before they even take care of myself, or anyone I love! The nurses were kind, I will say that, but they didn’t take care of her whole entire issue. Do better, be better, and if something happens to her fingers we will take care of that on our own! She is a significant amount of pain, and her pointer finger is pathetic. I don’t understand it. 🥹😡😤
This is specific to the Lab. People are friendly and mean well. They have been good with me. Not so good with my son. That is typical though. He looks really good but I always warn about getting a difficult reaction… from him. They did not listen or were not prepared for the difficulty an autistic 8 yo boy can present. The blood draw was not completed with much agony inflicted on my son. As a father, it is difficult to watch. In summary: good with my draws and have had no problems. With my son, really bad experience.
Never will go here again always show you go get a second opinion this doctor said it was all in my head and there was nothing wrong with me even though the other doctor proved him wrong we need to stay away from these… kind of people and let them go where they belong
MRI Cost 7k with insurance. This it's an insane price. Make sure you shop around for MRI.
Nurse Jess 💜 Hanna💜 Mr Haile Mr.jacob Mrs.jennifer Amy The entire team from morning to night shift was incredibly helpful and attentive, making my hospital stay much smoother than my previous stressful cesarean section.… Columbus, Indiana’s Labor and Delivery department provided exceptional care, addressing my anxiety and encouraging me to ask for help. I am deeply grateful for this experience, which included having my tubes tied during the cesarean section. I was able to move around and have bowel movements the same day. The staff is highly organized and efficient. Despite mixed reviews, I was thoroughly impressed by their professionalism and kindness. Thank you for delivering my second child with genuine care and providing the emotional support I needed.
