Brooklyn Hospital Center – Brooklyn Detox and Rehab Services

The provision listed at Brooklyn Hospital Center – Brooklyn is detox and residential treatment. Detox runs under medical supervision, and the first three days carry the highest risk with alcohol and benzodiazepines. A proper assessment sets the level rather than leaving it to guesswork, and it is worth asking for one explicitly.

The listing records a single focus rather than combined treatment, so anyone needing both should confirm what is available. Medication and talking treatment run together under clinical oversight. It is worth asking how many hours a week the program runs, because that decides whether it fits around everything else.

Always nasty attitudes. I called in the morning with questions about my prescription refill because my doctor ignores my messages and it’s impossible to get in touch with her. She literally SCREAMED at me that I called… too early. I was in shock. Will be switching to more mentally stable people immediately. Oh yeah and another time, I finished my appointment and went to another area where a woman was sitting behind a computer so I can set up my referral appointments. While we were seeking them up, I asked a follow up question about the new medication I was going to be taking. I simply and kindly asked “by the way where is the pharmacy?” She looked at me in the face in an annoyed expression and said “I’m not done with you” because she thought I was leaving in the middle of setting up the appointments that I REQUESTED?!? Like, it’s common sense I’m not going anywhere. But regardless it was just rude and unprofessional.

Terrible, incompetent staff with terrible attitudes. The lack of urgency and basic professionalism is unacceptable, especially in a healthcare setting. Someone could genuinely die in a place like this because staff fail… to take patients’ concerns seriously.

We took my Aunt to the hospital emergency area in a private senior ambulance on Monday 8/31. Waited about 2 to 3 hours for her to get room in the emergency room area where they have the patients, she finally gets seen… and checked by a nurse. Then after taking xrays in the bed they found she has a pneumonia and that she would have to stay in the hospital for 3-5 days so that she can get antibiotics and IV drip to recover and that the doctor will due some more studies. So now we wait that same day to get a whole entire different room for her while she is admitted so now they tell us that she won't possibly get a room til the next morning she ended up getting a room on Wednesday smh just horrible. They then call me to get information for her throughout the week and want to tell me that they want to release her on Saturday 9/05. They didn't even properly treat her or give any studies or other diagnosis. They said she ended up not have pneumonia and rushed her home that Saturday 9/05 she came back home worse she couldn't stand on her own and froze at some point she couldn't stay alone not even with our help. So we had to call the private ambulance to take her back to the hospital because it was bad and we couldn't leave our aunt like that she is too fragile. Point being made is that Brooklyn Hospital did a horrible job and I didn't think it couldn't be like this but they have no sympathy or compassion for people and will have them waiting for hours and days to get a room or admitted for them to rush and send people home not properly dianosing them, to get rooms and beds or other patients. My Aunt is back in the hospital another at that getting properly treated. Thanks to Brooklyn Hospital for your horrible job. If I can give zero stars I would

Worst healthcare experience in my life. My daughter lives in Brooklyn, she spent 12 hours in sheer agony and we ended up walking out because hours after hours and test after test, we were told nothing and no doctor… showed up. The staff was extremely rude, condescending and nasty...Not to mention they had me holding my daughter's IV in the air because they had no poles to hang the drip. I'm driving through the night to take her upstate where the staff actually give a crap. If you love your family, you will never take them to this dirty hospital.

Angela Grant ( 8-W floor General Surgery) was the embodiment of what a nurse should be. The compassion, patience, and attention she gave my mother were truly exceptional. My mother was in a great deal of pain after her… procedure, and Angela cared for her with such gentleness and genuine concern. She noticed every detail, responded to every need, and did everything possible to keep my mother comfortable and reassured. Angela did not make my mother feel like just another patientshe cared for her as if she were caring for someone close to her. She showed us the true meaning of nursing through both her professional care and her humanity. Our entire experience was made better because of her. Angela is truly the gold standard of nursing care, and we are incredibly grateful to her.

Huge thanks to TBHC's ED staff. Just spent the night there with my wife and even as the condition was very specific and that English is not my primary language, the team was patient, kind and helpful. Sure, it took a… bit of time to get fully processed, but it was a really busy night with a lot of ruckus, and the staff was admirable, with a patience out of this world. Thanks for your hard work. You guys are heroes.
