Syracuse VA – Syracuse Detox and Rehab Services
Syracuse VA – Syracuse is recorded as offering detox, residential treatment and intensive outpatient. Withdrawal is managed under clinical observation before other treatment begins, which matters most in the first seventy-two hours for alcohol and benzodiazepines. The structured element runs during the day and people go home afterwards. A proper assessment sets the level rather than leaving it to guesswork, and it is worth asking for one explicitly.
The record does not show integrated provision, so confirm this if it matters. Medication-assisted treatment combines approved medication with counseling and clinical review. The weekly time commitment varies considerably between providers, so establish it early rather than after admission.

Awful;
Absolutely The Best Behavior Outpatient Care Facility. Great Clinicians and Supportive Staff ‼️
This place is Hell. Do not send your kid here. Medication doctor scheduled regular appointments and did nothing other than waste my time. My one-on-one "therapist" had the personality of a rock and acted like a prison… guard rather than a councilor. Made absolutely no progress with her (Abigail). The group therapy is giving Sunday School at my old church - so many "educational games." There's also homework. Staff is uncaring and deeply, DEEPLY condescending on a level I've never experienced at any other clinic. Or ever, for that matter. If you value your kid's mental health, or your own, do not send them here. They literally GAVE me PTSD.
I loves seeing Dr. O'Connor, he really understands me completely and I really feel heard and respected. I strongly feel he really cares not only health, but for the total well-being as a whole. I really appreciate him.… Highly recommenced! Just trust the process!
This was back during the fake COVID scare. The way they treated the veterans terrible. I hope these people's names who are on this cancellation for a veterans vital health care, are fired and barred from serving ever… again.
My team of Docs are amazing. Always helpful and looking out for my best interest.
I’m still crazy
Syracuse VAMC is the best I've encountered. They have a steady supply of residents from SUNY Upstate Medical University, although some of the specialty clinics have trouble holding down attendings. The community has an… even worse problem with mental health providers. Almost zero difficulty finding appointments, and almost NEVER had them cancelled. Doubtful if the people rating low have even been here. An even chance they reviewed because politics.
I got mental healthcare there because I am NOT OK.
Maybe their just understaffed which is no excuse but the care there is horrible anymore. VA wonders why the suicide rate is so high with vets mabey they should look in the mirror.
They are never avail when you need them.
They helped me.
Ive never had an issue with any Syracuse VA. . Im not big on change but Dr Cerio has been a blessing. Vocational Rehab has gone above and beyond aswell.
Really poor continuum of care. High instance of being cancelled on, especially if its a Friday. It is the VA after all, so, not unexpected.
Absolutely awful bureaucratic system they take a cookie cutter approach to psychological illness mainly PTSD, they trying to medicate heavily everyone who comes through their doors. If anyone's wondering why the number… of Veteran suicides and so staggeringly high it's probably because of all these medications they're shoving down veterans throats that increase the risk of suicide and other mental illnesses. 8 years going here no other option but shove medication down my throat and do psychological therapy that's one-size-fits-all. Billions of dollars of funding to the VA and this is the best we have to offer?
Great place, a quiet room and even snacks most helpful outpaitent clinic I've been too
