Ryther – Seattle Detox and Rehab Services
Ryther – Seattle is listed as running partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient and outpatient care. The structured element runs during the day and people go home afterwards. Which of these is appropriate depends on an assessment, not on what sounds manageable at the time.
The record shows integrated treatment rather than one problem then the other. It is worth asking how many hours a week the program runs, because that decides whether it fits around everything else.

I went here when i was 16. The biggest joke of a treatment center.
Hardworking, dedicated staff in an agency that really cares about kids.
Ryther! What a horrible experience. This place is surreal and not in a good way. On my son's first visit with DBT therapist E O, she gave him two boxes of Narcan because as he put it, she told her about seeing his… friend OD on Xanax. What?!
I went to graduate school with both Alina and Hannah and always appreciated how warm, supportive, and insightful they were with everyone around them. They stood out for their professionalism, empathy, and strong… clinical insight. Ryther is fortunate to have therapists like them providing such thoughtful and compassionate care.
Rachel the psychiatrist is a horrible women I do not recommend coming here to get medication especially ADHD meds !! DO NOT COME HERE FOR HELP !!!
Very dangerous place. My son was put into a chokehold by another person here and the staff refused to let my son call the police.
Center for Human Services uses them as prescribers and after the original gal my grandson saw remotely left, the service there has been frustrating.
My name is hunter i was at ryther in 2013-2015 I was abused by staff held down by 5 plus staff members till I calmed down as I'm in excruciating pain yelling for them to stop then throwing you in a room that's door is… held shut a cover put over the window and can keep you there till they feel like it not to mention while they play on there phones and being only being let out twice maybe three times a day this place was absolutely horrendous I wanted to end my life there and I got no therapy for that got put on suicid watc everything stripped from me had to sit at a desk in a corner with nothing no shoes no nothing the staff would take everything from your room and watch you sleep
EDIT TO ORIGINAL REVIEW and lowered from two stars to ONE: they responded under my review within a couple days, with a contact. I contacted them immediately. It has now been over 2 weeks and STILL NO CALL OR EMAIL BACK… (for the 7th time now, 4 phone calls (4 voicemails), 2 texts to the therapist and 1 email) and still no response! Wild how y’all respond faster to a bad review than your own clients calls & emails. Maybe a priority check is in order? Absolutely pathetic. I’ve reported Ryther to the Better Business Bureau for investigation. Original review: We love Chloe as a therapist, but unfortunately their billing department is incredibly slow, unhelpful and FAR from transparent. I was told the visits were covered and hadn’t heard anything in 3 months. 5-7 ish visits later we learn that it has not been covered at $180 a visit. I cannot get anyone to call me back or respond to me emails. Sucks my kids have developed a relationship with Chloe just to be tossed to the side like an unwanted piece of garbage. When Chloe was asked who we could contact to resolve this, she couldn’t even answer that. We’ve been searching for help from billing for 4 weeks now. Not a single call or email back. I have resorted to asking my caseworker to now start pestering Ryther to see if they can get an answer from someone… Something is seriously disconnected with this office. I do not recommend Ryther, I do however recommend Chloe.
Loved the staff. Amazing place for the help we needed. They are high in demand and there’s a waitlist but it’s great when you get in. Ryther has a lot of different options for help that I haven’t seen in other places.
Terrible staffing. Takes weeks to book an appointment that 80% of the time gets canceled.
I was told they don't see kids after 3pm. To me it's completely unreasonable to expect a working parent to take off half day from work every week, and they were surprised about that. How out-of-touch they are on this… topic makes me question everything else they claim.
I ended up getting placed into ryther In 2012 or 13 by the courts for drug addiction. I spent 39 days there and graduated. Its hard to explain how much this place did for me At a time where everyone was giving up.… Incredible place and staff. I doubt the ones that were there for me are still there but I hope they are all doing great.
The reason I found my reason to live, and the reason I graduated highschool. After a traumatic past of child abuse and toxic environments this was my last resort, and I told myself if it didn’t work I’d honestly end it… all. First of all the therapists are GREAT and genuinely care, they are able to listen to your needs and act on them, and not once did I feel out of place there. My therapist was amazing personally, and she helped me talk through my past and think about my future. She helped me develop emotion regulation skills I never thought Id ever adopt, and I can truly say I wouldn’t be nearly as happy as I am right now if I didn’t go to Ryther. My miracle was finding a reason to go on, I was in a dark place and was very ready to put a stop to it all. It can’t of been easy hearing the weight of my past but my therapist stuck it through WITH me. And was real with me when I made mistakes in the emotion mind. This is the perfect place for treatment of PTSD and depression. Thank you Ryther for everything!
We’ve only seen one of the therapists but our experience has been really lovely. Lichao cares and is very thoughtful about our family needs. I would definitely recommend her.
I'm very grateful for my child's growth in therapy with her provider at Ryther. The scheduling/billing staff could be more organized especially when it comes to follow through. I got pretty fed up with the unclear… communication and weeks of waiting for responses. It's the only issue that would make me hesitate about coming back.
Brandi Harris (ARNP) canceled the same day as my appointment twice. Do not recommend. If your facility is running into scheduling conflicts then don't accept new patients....
I have gone to Ryther since 2016, I’ve had a lot of trial and error. Mostly error. I’ve had 3 therapists through them and while two of them were mostly fine they were insanely unprofessional. For example they encouraged… me (a person with a 10 year history of eds) to lose weight for my mental health. I was also preached to about god when I spoke of religious trauma. I was also told my trans identity was invalid. All three told me with 1 weeks notice they were moving to another office or private practice then I was left to scramble to find another provider. The last time this happened was June and I was told I would get a new therapist within 2 weeks. I have spam called every week and in the entire span was only offered 1 therapist who is still in college????? Ryther is insanely unprofessional and doesn’t care about getting people into treatment. I keep begging to get put into anyone’s waitlist. This is ridiculous.
Hello, I lived at the Ryther Child Center many Years ago. My name was, Richo Brown, now changed. I am now, 70 Years old and I live in Wisconsin. My experience at Ryther Child Center was Terrible. I had Experienced… Terrble Physcial Abuse there. But, I also found my real family with the help of Two Very Good Social Workers: Mr. Hardman and Susan Sodergren. So, it was not All Bad. I would Love to Visit Ryther and see as to the changes but when I attempted several years ago to enquire, I received No Response. Ihave many thoughts, Feelings and Memories of The Ryther Child Center. Thank You
My experience has been truly amazing. I have learned different positive ways parenting. The support groups are amazing. my experience just been extremely wonderful.
horrible place
I hate it
High turnover. I’ve sent emails either slow response or no response. When I’ve gotten a response it’s vague and indifferent. Billing has made more then one mistake and one bill that accidentally came to use was billing… the insurance for over 28k for a few months. Mind you my kid is an out patient. Wise program for the past year has been a great disappointment.
