Switching from St. E’s to ThedaCare was like night and day. The intake and scheduling staff are always incredibly warm and welcoming, and Dr. B. Is an absolute asset to his profession.

My pcp wrote a referral that they denied. They told me that it was THEIR reccomendation that Iwill be fine just talking to my pcp for my mental health concerns. My pcp literally wrote me the referral… they know nothing… about me or my mental health, and they denied me and told me to go back to my pcp, but that I could go see a randoms person whenever I want at the walk in clinic. I sought out Reach therapy and was treated SOOOOOOOO much better. Shame on thedacare….

Avoid this facility at all costs, especially if you expect consistent medication management or ethical care. For months, this clinic routinely failed to handle basic medication refills properly. When I requested a… transfer to a different provider due to these ongoing clinical errors, the administration ignored my requests for months. When I finally confronted the psychiatrist about the medication negligence, she became defensive, hostile, and hung up on me. Following that call, she engaged in severe retaliatory charting. She completely fabricated answers on a suicide risk screening tool that I never even took that day, and entered false, severe diagnoses into my permanent legal record that directly contradict her own objective Mental Status Exam and my independent neuropsychological testing done my Dr Marin at this same facility. Dr Marin was great and the tester was great. When I escalated this to the Clinic Director, leadership entirely failed to investigate the falsified medical entries. Instead, they weaponized the administrative process to protect the provider and punish me for exposing her negligence. Expressing valid frustration over a clinic’s failure to provide medication is not "abuse"—it is a patient trying to survive under negligent care. The negative reviews here are 100% accurate. This facility is a massive compliance and ethical liability. Go elsewhere. I am afraid of further retaliation from this facility and staff, which is why I posted with a different name.

STAY AWAY. After reading the other 50 1 star reviews, I completely agree with the same sentiment. Failure to provide medication, suggested to not take medication that has been stable and working for multiple years.… Staff is extremely rude and unprofessional. Incorrect information put into my mychart records. It seems like it's all the same problems looking at all the other reviews. I also noticed a comment mentioning that a patient was told by their therapist verbatim, "Why don't you go back?" [to where you came from] to a Latina woman who was expressing concerns to her therapist, and that is deeply concerning. I did not feel safe here and it seems like many others have had the same concerns for many years.

I would give a zero star review if it were possible based on how bad things are here. This is a warning to everyone in Outagamie County. Stay away from ThedaCare Behavioral Health-Menasha. They do not respect patient… privacy, allowing a guardian to intrude on private, one-on-one therapy sessions against consent, even after competency exams were ignored. They value money more than patients. They also made us feel powerless by refusing to let us cancel appointments for legitimate reasons, and then end up blaming us for not showing up. If you don't receive assistance locally and the systems are broken as we experienced, here are the ones to talk to: report this to the Wisconsin Department of Justice, the FBI field office in Green Bay, and connect with journalists at Wisconsin Watch to help raise awareness and investigate this kind of corruption. Know your rights, because you have them and our experience shows they won’t be respected.

Beware, this company will straight up tell you that insurance has pre-authorized your testing. Once the testing is done, they'll say that insurance won't cover it. So now I'm supposed to pay them thousands of dollars… for something that they said was authorized. Edit: they contacted me and continued to tell me the same crap about how they pre-authorized it but not need pre-authorization could be out of network. But not need pre-authorization could also mean it's covered fully. What a scam! Also, the EOB was done weeks ago and they still won't update billing.

I sat in a video call with a psychiatrist. Within 5 min of reading my file, he instantly said bipolar and tried pushing lithium onto me. I said no and he got mad. So I left. Will not be returning and will find a new… psychiatrist.

I know I shouldn't have gone here. My provider Jonathon Marin was awesome. The tester person was awesome. So why 2 stars? Well my primary Dr which is thedacare and in network referred me here, which is also thedacare.… No one warned me that it would be out of network. How is that possible. Now they are billing me full price and blaming me for not checking. I didn't check because they told me that they checked already and my insurance didn't need pre-authorization.......... Thanks for the positive experience with depression, anxiety, ADHD, and getting boned with thousands of dollars after being lied to.

Lisa Braedel, the staff that operates the day treatment program and Dr. Beld literally saved my life! These people are genuinely great people. I've never had any medical professionals care about me more than the my… Thedacare mental health team. In life people usually will invest in you the amount you invest in yourself. If you are ready to heal and become a complete, whole person ....this is the place to begin your journey!!

i aged out of my old psychiatrist and made the horrendous mistake of choosing thedacare. on my first appointment to go over my medical history, the psychiatrist question and belittled me over whether or not my ADHD… diagnosis was legit or not. asking me WHO tested me and WHEN and what that testing was like and the questioning went on for at least 5 minutes (which she had not done with any other diagnosis). she also questioned whether or not i NEED my vyvance and if my ADHD requires that medication and who was perscribing it to me. all in all it sounded like she didnt believe anything i had told her, but it came to a climax when i actually needed a refill on that medication. my prescription was denied and ignored, it is still not refilled after two weeks of trying to convince them i need it. i get that this place is a "drug free clinic" and Adderall/vyvance are controlled substances, but this is a diagnosis and substance ive been taking for YEARS. if you have ADHD do not go here, you'd have better luck getting your Adderall off the black market.

My daughter was aging out of her current provider. Not thinking to ask them who they would refer us to, I contacted Theda to see about transfering. What a mistake. I called to set up an appt. Told the phone rep she… wanted a female Dr and telehealth. Phone rep immediately got snarky. You get who we assign and everything is in person, no exceptions. I got snarky back and told her if thats the case we will go somewhere else. Rep then said she would take my info and her supervisor would call me. Two days later, supervisor calls, I explained what we were looking for and she said ok. I told her about the ordeal with the rep and she kinda blew it off. So, made an appt, being the first one, it was in person. My daughter was almost in tears when she came out. Dr told her she wasn't accepting anything in her records(mind you, these records go back years), she will need to redo everything she has already done, doesn't believe she needs the meds she is on. Basically lectured her and belittled her for an hour. Next day, we did what we should have done in the first place, asked her original provider who she recommended. She gave us a few places. One we chose was near our home and are wonderful people. So, if you are thinking about Theda, don't, they are not there to help you get better. they are there to take your money and your insurance money. Absolutely horrendous place.

If I could give a zero rating, I would. When I first tried to get into this clinic, I called and was told, at least twice, that I would get a call back. No one called back. On the 3rd attempt, I was told that I needed a… referral, which would have been helpful to know on the first call, since waiting to see my primary and then getting an appointment with behavioral health was expected to take quite some time. This delayed my ability to get my medications filled, which my primary refused to fill in the interim. I had a poor experience with Taylor Lackey on my first visit - she was robotic, had no facial expressions, and displayed no compassion or empathy when gathering my history. On my 3rd visit, I did my check in online and was in the waiting room 5 minutes before my appointment time. Twenty minutes later, when I still hadn't been taken back to Taylor's office, I checked to see if there was a problem, and I was told that I hadn't checked in, and that I was late for my appointment, so Taylor would not see me. Other staff had seen me come ahead of my appointment, and I showed them my check in information, and was told that I must have made a mistake with my check-in, and was reminded, again, that I was late. One of the medical assistants was able to talk Taylor into seeing me (it was 20 minutes into a 60-min appointment, so I'm unsure why I could not be seen during the remaining 40 minutes allotted for my visit, particularly since it had been the clinic's error). Taylor was unsympathetic, and also told me that I had probably made a mistake with my check in. Of course, the visit did not go well, and at the end of the visit, Taylor offered that they had been having issues with the online check in process. I was astonished that they continued to say that I had made an error, even though there was a known issue. I told the clinic staff that I did not feel comfortable with Taylor, and that I would like to see another provider. I was told that I had to have a conversation with Taylor about my dissatisfaction, and that she needed to "allow" me to see another provider - that I needed to try to smooth things out with her first. I told Taylor that I was unhappy with her service, and gave her specific supporting examples, and she just said she was "sorry that I felt that way", but claimed no ownership for the direction our relationship had taken. I can see Taylor's office notes on My Thedacare, and they are not accurate, and contain Taylor's judgments, versus only her objective findings, along with my subjective report. These are notes that other providers will inevitably see, which will put me in a defensive position at some point. Taylor also said that she was going to reevaluate one of my diagnoses, even though I had an official diagnosis, after rigorous testing, by a PhD-trained psychiatrist. I believe she just wanted to support taking me off of a medication that is a controlled substance, and which I have never, ever abused. Needless to say, I will be seeking another behavioral health provider, and would even consider going out-of-network and paying entirely out of pocket. Particularly when it comes to mental health care, I expect more compassion and understanding than I have received thus far from the Thedacare providers. I am not sure my experience has ever been so poor.

AODA is a JOKE!!! Laura Paske pretends to care, but if you question her approach or methodology she will immediately remove you from the group. Perfect example: had an individual appointment in which we agreed that IOP… could be an ongoing option considering my level of depression. 1 hour later, during group therapy, Laura asked the group what they thought about the reading and I said it was disappointing. Immediately after the group, she left me a voicemail saying I was no longer welcome. Lol...highly unprofessional, especially in the field of mental health. What's worse....I diligently fill out my "purple sheet" during daily group therapy, and ms. Paske was shocked when I told her about my relapse. She asked if I wrote it on the purple sheet, which I had done the previous day, and her response??? "I must have overlooked it. " as an AODA counselor, I'd expect far more.

If you’re Latino, brown or black do not go here. I received treatment a few years back and when speaking on my struggles the therapist said to me VERBATIM ‘WHY DONT YOU JUST GO BACK?’ Those words NEVER left my mind.… Just right now I’m able to speak on this because I couldn’t even understand how a therapist could be so bad at her job!? I came here as a child so it wasn’t my choice and yet there I was being discriminated against, when all I was doing is seeking help for my mental health! Want to get better? This isn’t the place!
