The prairie care in mankato is a joke! They kicked my kid out of the program after a day. Said they couldn't handle him instead of trying other options. I desperately needed my kid to go there and now I have to wait… even longer for him to get help. I will not recommend this place to anyone. I get that some of the stuff he was doing wasn't ok but everyone knew how he was before going into and still accepted him.
Vaughn here been wanting to go to PHP and prairie care made that happen for me and offer medication classes and workers were very nice and made me feel welcomed I know it's going to be great
I am going there currently and it is so good they care about there patients and are always there to help love this place so much if you go have fun in rec it is so fun
My son wasn't doing all right he was having issues with his head shaking his head they caused my son that had issues with his neck
I went here several years ago twice and it only worsened my MH issues and traumatized me. The staff hate their jobs and do not care about anything . Would not recommend to anyone
These people absolutely refuse to work with anyone. I explained I work two jobs, am the primary provider for my household and that taking time off during their "intake" hours just wasn't an option. They do not care. If… you do not fit their timelines, they will tell you to eat dust. Ever hear of telehealth? Evenings? Get with the times! The services must be terrible if they can't even be bothered to accommodate anyone. EDIT: In response to the reply I DID in fact call to speak with an advocate in respect to getting paperwork mailed to me and joining the intake via Zoom last week. As expected, no paperwork came my way during the past week.
I would recommend this as a last resort option facility. Mediocre care in their programs offered, therapist and psychiatrist. Front desk seems inadequate when inquiring about questions. Honestly, better health would be… better and cheaper than this place.
If you or a family member need mental or emotional care this is an amazing facility with faculty, staff, and providers who care about you, your health, and doing whatever they can to help you feel better.
This place was horrible please do not come here
Horrible care and made my depression worse
This is for outpatient adult care. They did not help with diagnosis which was the original reasoning for going there. 6 weeks, 2 individual counseling sessions during the whole time. Never waited to see if med changes… were right as med changes were still being made the week of discharge. No diagnosis was given/made. Was referred back to clinic of origin for further needs which was a problem in the first place.
I love Prairie Care, I started as an out patient and then circumstances changed and it was recommended that I admit to PHP. It was a wonderful Experience. My spouse and I have couples therapy and Individual therapy and… have both been through the PHP program and I am so thankful that Prairie Care is here. We are actually discussing trying to have our daughter evaluated for PHP because we know she needs help. This is the faith and trust we have with the staff and the programming at Prairie Care.
Pete who works the front desk is highly inappropriate. He doesn't do his job. My kid was signed up for therapy and he never let us know that it was cancelled u til we got there. More than once he's gaslit me about… sending links for virtual therapy saying he sent the link when he in fact did not. Waiting 30+ minutes for your therapist to come into your scheduled appointment is ridiculous. Calling the board because they are not kind to their patients or their families concerning the help they seek. So disappointed in this place.
It’s only for the money and that’s all it will ever be. Horrible place and they don’t care about the kids.
Not helpful
PrairieCare provides a well-rounded approach to mental health needs and assessment where my child was able to finally spend quality time with a team of providers to accurately gauge her individual needs and help empower… her to implement those tools. They also work with us as a family to support and empower us to create an environment for our family to succeed. The providers are compassionate, knowledgeable, accessible, and work as a team in a well-organized environment. After years of struggling with our neuro-divergent child, I finally have hope for both her and our family unit, that we can use the tools we've learned to live a more peaceful and mainstream lifestyle.
They are amazing and know exactly how to get a person to open up and feel comfortable in doing so. They help every way possible and if they can't they will find someone or something that will help you.
Our family was intially excited to have the help we needed. Be very careful this is a for profit company. They discharged us before my son was ready and our family had the help we needed. They are in the mental health… business for the MONEY. School staff and front staff were very helpful and kind
