About Serenity Hills Life Center – Wheeling

Serenity Hills Life Center operates from 667 Stone Shannon Road in Wheeling. The site sits in Ohio County, which shapes which public funding routes apply. Nearby communities include Clearview. West Virginia draws people across long distances for treatment, so travel time is worth weighing against waiting time.

Residential treatment is delivered here, alongside medication-assisted treatment, telehealth appointments and care for co-occurring mental health conditions. Which level fits depends on the assessment rather than on what is available, so the useful first question is what that assessment involves.

Treatment Services at Serenity Hills Life Center

Residential treatment runs to a set weekly schedule, with evenings and weekends spent at home. That suits people holding down work or caring responsibilities, though it asks more of someone managing early recovery alone. Ask what the assessment involves before you commit.

Residential runs long-term, which suits people who have tried shorter stays without them holding. Buprenorphine and naltrexone are available and paired with counseling rather than prescribed alone. Co-occurring mental health conditions are treated in the same building rather than split across providers.

Serenity Hills Life Center Address, Location and Contact Information

The address is 667 Stone Shannon Road, Wheeling, WV 26003, in Ohio County. The catchment reaches Clearview. Confirm what a program covers before traveling in, since the level of care listed is not always the level with capacity. Ask what the assessment involves before you commit.

Telehealth appointments cover some contact where travel is difficult, which removes part of the journey for people further out. Ask what a first appointment involves and how long the current wait runs before making the trip. Waiting times vary with capacity, so call ahead rather than arriving unannounced.

I CAN NOT recommend this recovery center. There is something very messed up about Serenity Hills Life Center. My daughter was in active addiction for over 12 years. She has been in & out of jail more times than I can… count. When she finally decided that she wants to get back to a normal life & eventually start a family of her own some day, she looked to Serenity Hills Life Center for direction. As her Mother, I looked into this place to check it out. Seemed great with wonderful reviews. Even gives her the right to religion, which is a ++ for me! I kept in touch with her Case Manager & checked in on her often, but not being over bearing. After the 14 day blackout period, my daughter was able to let me know of things she needed while there. So, I put together an Amazon List for her & shared it with Family & Friends. They purchased tons of things to occupy her, to keep her busy. Also purchased things she needed for therapy & education. My daughter had improved so much! She was doing great! I was ecstatic! Her CM informed me of some trouble my daughter was having with some very jealous, mean girls. They were constantly harassing her. Telling her that her family hates her, and accusing the CM of favoritism. Turns out that they were accusing the Case Manager or buying all the things her family & friends ordered for her. We are not selfish people, & wouldn't mind sharing things with the other girls. If we knew they also needed things, we would help out the best we can. My daughter also has a giving heart. She has always had a big heart & loves people that don't deserve it at times. But they along with the new employee (EB) put together a petition to have my daughter thrown out because they hated her. (Mind you she only had 2 weeks left to finish) But they allowed me to come pick up my daughters things. When I went through it all, none of the things we purchased for her was in there. They took EVERYTHING!!! I am completely shocked that Serenity Hills Life Center would allow for this to happen to their patients. Now that this has happened to my daughter, I am hearing of many others coming forward, claiming the same kind of treatment. Please look elsewhere for recovery. I strongly feel like this place needs thoroughly investigated!

I owe my life to Serenity Hills . I completed the program and got my life back. The time I spent in the program taught me how to change my way of thinking. One on one therapy was crucial to my sobriety. The many… programs offered from Trauma and Grief to Life Skills and Parenting helped me mold my short and long term goals and prepared me to learn how to live my life happy sober. I have dealt with my trauma and emotions and came through on top. There you are family , there you matter. I am now a mental health technician on my way for a new career as a Peer Support Specialist. I am a 5 time felon with a future helping other people recover from active addiction , because of the support and opportunities at Serenity Hills. This program is amazing and I will always owe my future and my sobriety to Ms Marie and Serenity Hills Life Center. 🙏🙏 🙏🙏🙏❤️💯 I will always be a serenity sister!

If you can get in somewhere else please do so. It’s about control. And some of the good reviews are there because they were asked to do so.

This is not a place to come to if your wanting to remain unhealthy and unchanged. I started this journey to please the courts, not because I thought I was actually good enough for the radical changes that actually took… place inside of my heart. Serenity Hills was a place of deep healing to my heart and soul. The radicalness of this process has been shared through the sisterhood created behind those doors. Miracles are happening here everyday. Chains are being broken and woman are flourishing into the beautiful creatures we were made to be. I know this for a fact because I am a walking miracle and a testimony to this amazing place. It is most certainly not an easy walk but Sharon Travis has an excellent staff who makes each one of the women there feel loved, important and heard. I can't even imagine where I would be if my mother hadn't found this place. I am only the lady I am today thanks to everything I've learned here. Never would I have thought I'd get clean. But here I am killing it. I loved the beauty of the place also... Serene and clean 2021. Thank you to all the staff and to my serenity family for helping me find the tools to make a life to be proud of again. I love this place and I am recommending it to anyone who needs change. My family and myself are forever grateful for you having a place where women can come to and actually find themselves and do it safely. I thank God everyday for this place and you 🥰

This beautiful place, nestled in the beautiful hills of West Virginia, gave me life again! If it wasn't for the staff, the setting, and the therapy, as well as all the fun, I would not be where I am today! My children… have their mom again, and I give all my thanks to you, Serenity Hills! A serenity sister I will forever be!

Horrible!!!! Mouse traps in bathroom that moved. I didn’t look. Ewe! Not allowed out of ur room in between groups. Very degrading. Took some of my belongings wo an explanation. Example: a book. Many inmates (and I say… that kindly) were there on court order felony charges. Needed a nurses order for an extra blanket. Speaking of bedding; it was gross! mattresses were disgusting. I would never let my kid sleep on it!! Never let u outside. No contact w outside for 30 days. I’ve never been in jail, but this felt it. Sharon, the owner, asked why I left, and interrupted me as I read my list n blamed everything on covid. That was bs! We got to eat together, but not allowed outside our rooms. One girl was not permitted to even have her bible. The clients r all in their teens n early 20’s; again on medicaid (free ride) n court ordered. Groups were geared towards “how to get a copy of your birth certificate n how to interview for a job” Felt very degraded n punished constantly by yelling staff “get in ur room” Very affordable if u like a jail like experience. Would never recommend it! Somethings I experienced I cannot write about. It was horrific n violating!!!

Serenity Hills is the best treatment facility in WV. This rehab saved my life... not only did I receive the proper counseling I needed that no other treatment center offers but I did it while in a beautiful environment.… The employees there aren't just workers they are family to you. They genuinely care about each individual that enters their rehab. I am a proud alumni of Serenity Hills!!!
