About CrossWinds Corner House – Emporia

CrossWinds Corner House operates from 418 Market Street in Emporia. The site sits in Lyon County, which shapes which public funding routes apply. The practical catchment runs wider than the city limits, taking in people who travel in rather than finding care on their doorstep.

Intensive outpatient and outpatient care are delivered here, alongside telehealth appointments and care for co-occurring mental health conditions. Which level fits depends on the assessment rather than on what is available, so the useful first question is what that assessment involves.

Treatment Services at CrossWinds Corner House

Intensive outpatient and outpatient care run to a set weekly schedule, with evenings and weekends spent at home. That suits people holding down work or caring responsibilities, though it asks more of someone managing early recovery alone. Ask what the assessment involves before you commit.

Co-occurring mental health conditions are treated in the same building rather than split across providers. Ask what happens at the end of the program as well as the beginning, since that is where plans usually thin out. Ask what the assessment involves before you commit.

CrossWinds Corner House Address, Location and Contact Information

The address is 418 Market Street, Emporia, KS 66801, in Lyon County. Confirm what a program covers before traveling in, since the level of care listed is not always the level with capacity. It is worth checking which entrance to use and where parking sits before a first appointment.

Telehealth appointments cover some contact where travel is difficult, which removes part of the journey for people further out. Ask what a first appointment involves and how long the current wait runs before making the trip. Waiting times vary with capacity, so call ahead rather than arriving unannounced.

Rachel Buchman was my daughter's case manager when she was in school. She was so compassionate, attentive and always willing to take the time to truly help in whatever situation we were in. She helped my daughter work… through some difficult situations, came to appointments to advocate and helped me understand my daughter's needs better. Rachel has since become a therapist and l am sure she is absolutely amazing with her clients!

Watch out for this place. Something very fishy about how they do business. Shady business tells me shady everything. Dysfunctional therapy when you can't trust a place that should be helping people. Listen to your gut..… I asked to see an intake form before doing anything and it was like pulling teeth. They want you to sign it minutes before the appointment. ( To make an appointment with out reading it! ) I asked to mail it and was told the postal system loses them? Sooo,? do they use the USPS to bill people? That sounds like" My dog ate my homework". Finally they emailed links to I don't know what, but I'm not clicking on it and have some unknown download to my PC. That's online safety 101, Don't download scheit you don't know what it is. Why are they not wanting people to read the intake form? R U signing away any liberties when you sign it with out reading it? Does it ask for you bank acct. number? What's their privacy policy? Geesh! My contact info has been passed on to different locations and each called me like it's the first time to be contacted. It's to the point of harassment now. On the SC list is,,,Injections!!! Injections is one of the cheapest things on the list! Injections ! Definitely not going there!. Look at the review ratings!! 2.4 Rating / reviews ?? People say " listen to your gut. " The movie " One few Over the Cookoo's nest comes to mind.

They are Working with is every step of the way in every direction and have disgnosed properly. Dr… Sultana is amazing and a go getter and I’ve heard nothing but amazing things about Angie so my girl is excited! Thank you guys so much and we’re both so happy for the journey.

EDIT: My appointment today was canceled after being on the books for 2 weeks, with no explanation or reschedule. It has now been 3 weeks since I've had a therapy session due to the actions of this company - who stated… they did not want there to be a break in my care. I just don't understand how these are the appropriate actions of a mental health company. I am trying to get help. --- I wish I could give 0 stars. My (intern) therapist no called no showed my third session. Then her supervisor took some things I said out of context, sent me an unprofessional email giving details about my therapist's personal life, then invaded a therapy session to say I wouldn't be having it, and I was getting a new intern. This was on a day where I had just had civil court, before a meeting in their office to take vitals for medication, where my BP was 205 over 110 - extremely high. They do what's best for their business, and their employees - not their patients. Dealing with them has traumatized me further, and made me lose the little bit of faith I had that the mental healthcare system is actually here to help. I wish I had another option.

My family first started seeing therapists in Burlington and my husband has a TBI. While with Crosswinds in Burlington his case manager was sometimes late or had to go to the office for an office employee meeting during… his time. I once called in same day for my therapy appointment due to having a migraine. Then the next time I informed the office we’ll in advance of an appointment that a rental came open in Emporia but that we had to move in later that week and I would need to schedule in Emporia for May once we got moved in to resume therapy. More than a month in advance. The so called quality assurance department tried to tell me that I had two cancellations and therefore the third would put me on a same day wait list. I told them that they expect clients to be understanding of employee meetings and call ins to clients from their case managers and therapists but would not even seem happy for me and my family having a safer cleaner place to live and better housing. They expect you to show them understanding regarding their employees absences but don’t do the same for the clients. I told them that clients need to tell them three strikes your out get me a new provider. This place is money hungry and I intend on letting my legislators know who fund mental health centers. They also misdiagnosed my daughter per a new therapist in Topeka to please the school system. Their business is sub par go somewhere else that treats you better. Update: Called them for a screen for a hospital for myself and I was told they didn’t have any therapist only case managers answering calls after hours. This is what my psych hospital of choice told me to do was to call Crosswinds for a screening and Stormont Vail West was shocked to learn that they do not have therapists to screen people after hours.

These cross winds therapist and psychiatrist absolutely suck. They don’t give a hoot about you or what you deal with. They make you feel so insignificant and they don’t even help you come up with plans to help prevent… your bad behaviors. They are one of the worst I’ve ever had the unfortunate chance of meeting and I do not recommend anyone to go with them for mental behavior. I’m at brave counseling and they are amazing. A complete life saver and over all good people that actually want to help you and care about you and your problems. These woman at cross winds are a disgrace to the mental health community and I hope they change their negative condescending ways.

A week before we took are 6 year old daughter in to get help at that they helped in the emporia office and they told me if we have any more problems to get ahold of them then a week later after my daughter had a… meltdown on the 21 of march with my daughter kicking me and telling me she wants to hurt me just because she wanted a gift from a store and I don’t have the cash they told me it was my fault and they couldn’t help me never mind the fact she is losing friends and trying to get more thangs to replace her friends I am deeply upset with them

Cold transfers are ridiculous. Will call to get scheduled and get transferred to a voicemail. Took me almost two weeks just to reach a person that could actually help me get scheduled for therapy. Ive almost ran out of… my meds trying to just get scheduled to see a therapist. Absolutely insane, and they are lucky I wasnt worse off than I was. Shout out to Melissa the patient coordinator for being amazing and actually working towards getting me scheduled for therapy. If it wasnt for her, I wouldve gave up on even scheduling through this place. Garbage customer service besides Melissa

I admire what they are trying to do to provide care to clients but they treat their employees so badly. Would not suggest this place for work to my worst enemy. They are unethical in many aspects & are very number… driven. They often make choices that leave clients hanging without support and end care abruptly because they cannot keep staff.

You people should be ashamed of your selves!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I’m disgusted with the amount of time it has taken for me to get medication for my Borderline Personality Disorder. They have you talk to 2-5 people and explain… the situation over and over again. Still haven’t received any help yet. You people should be disgusted with your selves for making it so difficult and weeks of waiting to obtain medication when people feel suicidal with out them!

This company is garbage. They chew up and spit out counselors left and right. Read the reviews it is a trend with Crosswinds to not be able to keep counselors. Their poor management, not caring for their employees, or… their clients takes a tremendous toll on all involved. Do better Crosswinds, you are supposed to be in the mental health business and caring for others. (Including your employees)
