Discovery Institute for – Marlboro Detox and Rehab Services

Discovery Institute for – Marlboro carries a listing for detox, residential treatment and intensive outpatient. Detox runs under medical supervision, and the first three days carry the highest risk with alcohol and benzodiazepines. The structured element runs during the day and people go home afterwards. A proper assessment sets the level rather than leaving it to guesswork, and it is worth asking for one explicitly.

The record does not show integrated provision, so confirm this if it matters. Medication-assisted treatment combines approved medication with counseling and clinical review. Ask directly about session times and frequency, as those details decide whether someone can realistically attend.

Absolutely the best inpatient recovery program. If you are looking to actually get clean and sober, this is the place to go. Special shout outs to Counselor Julia, Discharge Doug, Charge Nurse Sam, Tech Marc, and MAs… Marissa and Janet! You guys/gals saved my life.

Aftercare started early. Left with a written plan, local meetings, and a crisis protocol. Still referencing it months later.

Six weeks in residential here. The days had a rhythm: group, one-on-one, skills, then some actual downtime. Staff remembered details about me, not just my file.

My family is so grateful for Kiersten M, one of the counselors at Discovery institute. What stood out most was her patience and willingness to go above and beyond to help. Her compassion gave us much needed comfort… during a difficult time.

What I liked about the men’s track was that it didn’t feel one-size-fits-all. All guys in group made it easier to open up. Marlboro is quiet and simple to get to.

My name is Jason Yingst. I have been alcohol free since March 19, 2025 the day after I went into Discovery Institute. I would like to thank the staff for their help and support on this journey with me. I was an active… alcoholic for 35 years. I am now an alcoholic that chooses not to drink. I am truly blessed. I don’t go to meetings (sorry). I work out at the YMCA 5 to 6 days a week. My lil sister Jen passed away from stage 4 lung cancer and alcoholism on July 4th, she was 51. My fifth sibling to pass out of 11 children. We all have the same disease. Thank you again and have an amazing day

I appreciate any institution that is helping anyone with addiction. However this particular institution robbed me of my petty cash. I had a 10 dollar bill upon entry that wasn’t returned to me and no one has returned my… call on the situation. On top of that, because there are court mandated people there they treat everyone like an inmate.

I recently completed treatment at Discovery Institute and wanted to share my experience. The nursing staff was excellent, attentive, professional, and genuinely caring throughout my stay. Group therapy was one of the… highlights. The mix of peers was diverse, and the counselors leading sessions were insightful and patient. My primary counselor, George, went above and beyond helping me navigate communication with both my family and the court system during a difficult time. That support made a real difference. The extracurricular offerings were a real strength of the program. Meditation, yoga, and sound bowl therapy were unexpectedly wonderful additions to treatment, and having access to basketball and the gym helped a lot with staying grounded. I was even allowed to bring a keyboard and guitar and play music with other clients, which meant a lot to me. Food was simple but perfectly palatable given the circumstances. Overall, this is a place that treats people with dignity and gives real tools for recovery. Grateful for the care I received here.

Decided to get help before I lost everything completely. The facility is professional and the program is well organized. The IOP program let me start treatment while still working which was important to me. The group… sessions and individual counseling complemented each other well. The staff knows addiction and knows recovery. I'm six months sober and feel like I finally have control back. Would recommend to anyone serious about getting clean.

Not going to lie, I was skeptical. I'd heard all the promises before. But from the guy who did my intake to the therapists who ran the evening sessions, everyone just seemed to get it. They helped me figure out why I… kept relapsing and gave me a solid plan for when I walked out the door. I'm still putting one foot in front of the other and it's working.

★★★★★

I didn't want to be here at first but the staff didn't force anything. They let me come to my own conclusions about my substance abuse. That actually worked better for me than pressure would have. The IOP program kept… me grounded and connected to recovery. Been sober for several months and feeling more stable than I have in years.

★★★★★

The alcohol had me in a bad place mentally and physically. Came here desperate and the medical team took care of the physical withdrawal safely. Then the real work started with therapy and understanding my triggers. The… group dynamic helped too. You realize you're not alone in this. I'm almost a year sober now and wouldn't be without this place.

★★★★★
Michael Petrocelli4 months ago

My dad brought me here because I was heading in a bad direction with drugs. I was resistant at first but the counselors didn't force anything on me. They let me come to my own realization about needing help. The program… is structured but not rigid. The guys in group were honest and didn't let me minimize what was happening. I got sober and it's sticking because I actually understand why I was using. Been clean for five months and things are getting better.

I went through detox here and it was rough but they managed it well. The medical staff knew what they were doing and made it as comfortable as possible. After detox the counseling helped me understand why I was using in… the first place. That's where the real work happened. I'm a few months sober and it's sticking this time because I actually understand what I need to change.

I was using for years and thought I was done for. Got admitted to the IOP program here and it gave me structure I desperately needed. Being able to go home at night but get serious treatment during the day worked for… me. The counselors are real about recovery, not preachy. Been sober for eight months now.
