past client here: most of the staff are wonderful, but the administration and management is horrible. for $1,200 a night, it should be much better. everything the clients get is cheap. majority of the money must be… going to administration. not to mention, when they’re understaffed—which is most of the time— the clients can’t get anything. support is limited, and privileges are much less likely to be granted. another thing, if you don’t want your kid to have to “level up” for things like shower time and practicing musical instruments, don’t send them here. if your kid struggles with disordered eating, PLEASE don’t send them there; especially if its surrounding weight loss. i promise you they’ll lose weight in there on account of the scheduled and limited snacks. also, the chef goes on leave for long amounts of time (in my 64 days i never met her, although i heard her food is good), and when she’s gone, the catering they serve clients is so nasty and unsettling that it should be inspected by the FDA. this place is also not good for kids who struggle with substance use. sure, the groups are pretty good, but again, that’s due to the amazing RCs. they’ll try to make this place seem like a perfect place for recovery, when usually it’s the furthest thing from it. if your kid requires residential care, please, i beg of you, don’t pick evolve.
Emily’s presentation, answers to participants’ questions, and highlights is key points were very useful for providing therapeutic tools and parental support.
Very informative
Evolve was very committed to my daughter’s mental health improvement. My daughter absolutely loved her individual therapist and I was gratified by her therapist’s ability to relate to my daughter so that she could then… take in the therapist’s guidance and wisdom. There were some rough edges in the day-to-day which I attribute to short-staffing not a lack of professionalism. Although the idea of residential treatment can be scary, my daughter is very positive about her experience in retrospect.
We took a huge leap by choosing Evolve Walnut Creek and quite frankly, I am forever grateful that we did. Our daughter's therapist (Niki) and her experience at Evolve WC, saved her life and our whole family's dynamic.… The staff are amazing and the facility is beautiful. Niki and the WC director, Emily, were incredibly responsive and supportive. Their admissions process (thank you, Shannon!) and help with negotiating insurance were invaluable. While it required time and effort, I am so thankful for the in-person family therapy sessions we had and the weekend offsites with our daughter. Both of these provided opportunities to learn and practice DBT skills. We've now transitioned to PHP with Evolve and are experiencing the same amazing support and a structured program that is helping our daughter transition from residential. We are no where out of the woods, but we are much further than we would have been. You may hear terrible things about residential treatment. I was terrified. However, this was the best decision we ever made! And to Niki, you are a godsend. You are a gift.
this place was so lit! loved my therapist miss u girly & the staff was FIREE!! helped me with my mental health so much. ayah, jada, valentina, deeda & rachel r queens. HONORABLE MENTION TO CHEF LYNN U RULE GIRL🗣mr… boogedy lives foreverrr
chef needs a raise she acts like a therapist but shes a chef🥲 I love that women anyways My time there was mid, i struggled with my medication there. and the psychologist she gave me a high amount of medication i… shouldnt have been taking so when i got home i had hella low blood pressure. I think you should take vitals after meditation starts to kick in to prevent that from happening again it was horrible. but ya the staff there was super nice. Jada would always strive for us to get our outting which i appreciate so much. Rachel and ayah were always hella funny and able to make everyone laugh even if ur sad or something. Rosalinda, emily, and deborah were new but very experienced you wouldnt be able to tell there new! (shoutout to emily, chef, rosalinda, jada, rachel, ayah and debroah for the lovely experience 💙✌🏽)
I was here for seven weeks following a particularly nasty year for my mental health. Needless to say, this place and its staff completely changed my life. I'm doing so much better now, and I probably wouldn't be here… today if I hadn't gone to Evolve WC. It worked wonders for me and I will forever be grateful.
They paint a beautiful picture of their facility for parents; but they produce trauma for those inside. Parents, if you care about your child, do not send them here. You don’t know the half of it.
genuinely saved my life. you can tell most of the staff truly cares about the kids there, and they try to make the most out of residential treatment, which is really rough. it’s been around 6 months since i left, and i… can safely say my mental health has improved significantly. special shoutouts to keilana, michael, and valentina. miss you guys :,)
the chef's food was okay i miss u guys
Really insane and epic and awesome! #slayyedeverydayawayatevolve #thisisvalen #chefjared #meandkelseyarebestfriends #imissthestaff #iloveyouallandthankyou
if im being honest, i really enjoyed being here. the staff are very kind and they are very willing to help for the better!
Our son was in treatment here just recently. We were very impressed with the staff, the facility, the admission process, and everything that went into helping our son. I'm very grateful for Evolve. Our son is doing much… better today, and that's partly due to his treatment there. Thank you.
so much trauma the troubled teen industry SHOULD NOT BE AN INDUSTRY STOP TRYING TO MAKE A PROFIT OFF OF US
Traumatic
Period queen you tell em
Unless you cannot find a space anywhere else DONT GO HERE! they know about supply and demand in Northern California and will nickel and dime you. We had to pay an extra $2000 for an hour and a half when we picked up our… child. On the 31st day. If you have a child that is transitioning would be the only way that this place can help. Our child did not even know if her roommate was a boy or a girl. Forget about substance abuse treatment they are worthless. From day 1 they talk about discharge or continuing plans. They Just make you memorize a bunch of acronyms and you have to speak in a different language from day one.. They need someone to come in and teach them how to communicate internally as everyone seems to have their own set of rules. They force you to eat your meals or you have to sit there so God for bid your child has an eating disorder. On home visits our family member was so nervous about not being able to eat her meal when she got back.do not take most insurance and we had to pay $2000 per day. Upfront non refundable for 30 days. Save yourself a lot of grief and skip this place. Utah not California for help for kids.
absolutely awful, me and my roommate cried so much because of how bad it was. my mental health got worse.
Very poor family support. Callous and condescending attitude towards parents. You really get the impression the staff couldn’t care less. The DBT focus is very superficial, i.e. kids memorize acronyms and fill out the… workbook in lieu of any meaningful therapy actually taking place. My daughter is leaving treatment in worse shape than she arrived. I would highly recommend placing your child elsewhere.
