I originally planned to stay for just a week because I was nervous about going to rehab, even though I knew I had a problem. The staff made me feel comfortable and supported enough to complete the full 30 days. Everyone… was so kind and helpful, especially during such an uncomfortable and difficult phase of my life. I’m really grateful for the support I received and would definitely recommend this rehab to anyone who needs help. The food was great, and the facility itself was awesome as well. Overall, I had a really positive experience and couldn’t be more grateful for the support I received.

I wanted to share my experience at Hillside. This is my first time having to come for treatment, and it has been a pleasurable experience. I was apprehensive about going but they made me feel at home. The facilities… were clean, food was good and the nurses were very compassionate. I want to give a shout out to…..Dev, Jason, Staci, Brian H, Sara, Sam, Larry, Kyle, and too many to name. Thank you for all your support and kindness. Sincerely, Ingrid

This is my second stay at Hillside, about a year apart from my first stay. This facility has been a saving grace for me. I have found a community and been able to make relationships that I hope to keep for life. From… the people I met along the way, the peer led AA meetings in the morning, and the utmost AMAZING staff, I could not speak higher of this place. A few particular shout outs I would like to mention is first and foremost the RS Supervisor Stacie went above and beyond almost if not every single day that I was here. Not a moment went by where she wasn’t doing something to make our stay here as best as it possibly could be. She is beyond kind to every person she encounters, and it does not go unnoticed. RS Zach, David (DD), James, Jason, Cory, Billy, Larry, Luis, and many others were an integral part of my sobriety and recovery journey. From sharing their own personal experiences to being there whenever you needed, even just to talk, was a blessing that I will forever be grateful for and I will remember these people for the rest of my life. The nursing staff is also incredible, informative and will assist with any potential issues that may arise for you while you are here. They have amazing providers, and the nurses advocate for the people they treat. It truly shows genuine care, which is one thing that isn’t appreciated enough. Each and every single one deserves the utmost recognition. The care teams that they provide here are also phenomenal, from intake to discharge even to after care itself, they will help every step of the way. It is a huge burden off ones back that truly allows you to focus on your recovery without the stressors that life can bring as the day to leave comes closer. If you are ready and serious about getting the help you need, this is the facility to do it at. Lastly, my main take away from this experience, is that the community you’ll meet, and the staff that are forever by your side and rooting for you every step of the way, gives the confidence and determination to continue this recovery journey. For the first time in my life, in many years, I was shown that life can be SO enjoyable without a drink. There were emotional times, and TONS of laughter (the best medicine). But the main thing? Is that we realize in being here, surrounded by people suffering the same way we are, that we can, and we DO recover. Just one day at a time. -Garrett B

I cannot say enough good things about Hillside Detox. From the moment I walked through the doors, the staff treated me with kindness, respect, and genuine compassion. I was extremely scared and nervous when I first… arrived, but after my very first day, I realized I was in a place where people truly cared about me. The staff is incredibly generous and goes above and beyond to make you feel comfortable and supported. I especially want to recognize Stacy, Dan, Cheryll, Sarah, Dougie, Larry, Catherine, the care provider (MD), and Dave, aka “Double D.” Every one of them made an impact on me in their own way. What really stood out to me is that they don’t make you feel like just another patient they treat you like family. I came here scared and unsure of what to expect, and when I leave here I will take with me experiences, lessons, and friendships that I believe will last a lifetime . If you or someone you love is struggling and needs help, I could not recommend Hillside Detox enough. Walking through those doors was one of the hardest things I’ve ever done, but it turned out to be one of the best decisions I could have made.

I had an amazing experience with my stay at Hillside. The staff are so compassionate and caring. I was very nervous about going in and all the uncertainties, but the staff could not have made it simpler, comfortable,… and thorough. I am in a much better state of mind now, and am so grateful. All the details right down, to the food and kitchen staff were far beyond what I expected. I would like to give a special shout out to Staci, Jen, Zeina, Maggie, and Sarah. They go so far above and beyond. You can really feel that they do this because they are passionate about the work, and take such pride and effort in everything they do. I would love to name more, but I'll cut it short and just say, thank you so much.

I recently was a patient at Hillside I honestly don’t even know where to begin. I was in rough shape when I arrived .Jen met me at the car and was so kind. Nick who did my intake was awesome. To the team assigned… Courtney, Sarah and Megan you all were amazing. Zenia I also have to thank you for stepping in and assisting when Sarah was off. Nursing team you guys rock Deana, Neven and Andrew 3 names I will never forget. The care was amazing, all the staff were ready to listen and give some feedback back. Just to point out your known by name so you just don’t feel like a number great groups, the options on snacks and beverages will have you leaving there 20 pounds heavier. The food was also amazing. I would give hillside a 10 if I could. Thank you Hillside for the care while I was in your hands!

Hillside shows they care. From the cleanliness and comfort of the facility to the team of caring dedicated staff. From intake to nursing to the recovery specialists to the kitchen staff Hillside makes sure you are well… taken care. What facility gives a welcome bag with wireless headphones, socks, water bottle etc…They go out of their way to show they care about your recovery and ensure you are comfortable and are well fed. They are true heroes. They are a big step ahead of detox facilities. Shout out to Jen and Dougie holding it down at Mission Control.

Hillside is a nice facility and the RS staff is amazing. Take their advice, but keep in mind that what works for one person doesn't work for everyone. Try every class and coping mechanism they offer/teach, if you're not… taking advantage of the opportunities then you're doing yourself a disservice. Attend the peer led AA meetings, go to the gym, try yoga and muay thai, the breathworks class, etc., you're going to get as much out of this as you put into it. Also research what you're being told and get multiple opinions, rehab/detox isn't a miracle cure and you're going to need to be proactive in your recovery for it to stick imo. Just because you can take some of the meds they offer multiple times a day doesn't mean you should either, if you're feeling tired all day maybe pump the brakes on the Seroquel if they're allowing you to take it 3x a day so that you can absorb the lessons from the meetings. Special shout out to Dougie for arranging the corn hole tournament and bringing everybody together for that, he came in on his day off to make it happen and it made us feel like normal people that could have sober fun for a few hours. There's a lot of people here that genuinely care, so if you came an as an anxiety riddled mess like I did just remember that.

Very unprofessional, one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had in a detox, staff are clueless, they won’t medicate you either, and if you try to figure out aftercare they could care less and won’t help you, it is also… ran like a prison with cameras on you / basically locked on a certain floor and don’t get me started on if you are a smoker or you vape cause they rarely go out to get vapes or smokes so if you are not trying to quit nicotine I suggest you go some place else cause I ran out of my vape three days ago and have to wait five more days until they go on a store run again. Don’t send your loved ones here if you care about them and I suggest you go someplace else such as avatar in Massachusetts if you really want somewhere professional and knows what they are doing.

This is the 1st time I have been to any program, meetings, or detox because I have never quit using or drinking in approximately 48 years of drowning my memories of a horrific childhood. I have heard horror stories… about these places. So I did my research and chose to fly over 1000 miles to go to there. I have stayed in many 5 star hotels. None of them can compare to the accomodations, the service, and especially the food, I enjoyed there. More importantly, the staff are now part of my extended family. The most important fact is the program is perfect. I was even convinced to continue the outstanding program at their next phase, at PHP Woburn Wellness. I haven't even had any urges to drink, even though prior to Hillside, I drank a 1/5 of Vodka a day. Or stick a needle in my arm as I did twice a day. Without a doubt, having the ability to retain my cell phone, having fantastic medical staff, and their CEO Rachael will go above and beyond to facilitate anything required to make your stay a successful one. I can't say enough good about this place. I know the only reason I would ever relapse, after they filled the top of my toolbox with a huge variety of necessary tools required for my Soberiety, is just to return for another amazing experience. Thank God they have already invited me back in 1 year to give the group a follow-up motivational speech. If you're serious about giving Satan back his potions and poisons that have you stuck in the rut, then give these folks a call. They even handled all my flights, and my Uber rides everywhere I go even here at the Woburn Wellness PHP. I had just had rotator cuff surgery 3 days before hopping a plane from Iowa to Hillside. So I had a ton of special needs and they accommodated EVERY SINGLE ONE!! Even 1 issue due to the fact I couldn't sleep in their super comfortable mattress, because of a very awkward sling I had to sleep in. The rooms are 4X what a normal suite is, with full bath. The maid/janitorial staff is even phenomenal. They make your bed for you every day. I can't get that at the Ramada, Hilton, or other 5 star hotels. I am a real patient, not some bot, or paid actor. My FB is full of photos of the meals including steak 2 times a week and a salad bar that was exceptional. I miss the staff, the food, the clients, and the accommodations. I know that I owe my Soberiety to God, Hillside, and Woburn Wellness. My wife and kids sent a drunken drugged up 60 year old man out here, and are receiving a clean and sober husband and father back. God bless this place and it's staff. They even handled all the paperwork for my SSDI. Call Jamie at admissions and she will be the front of a long line of folks who really care about getting you clean and sober. You're not just a paycheck number to them. Your success is truly 💯 of their goal.

When my disease of addiction had brought me to my knees, I knew I needed some real professional help. The Hillside was an absolutely amazing place for me to get the help I needed! The overall program, classes,… clinicians, and RS staff tough me some highly valuable skills. Helping me to not only start my new journey in recovery, but help me stay clean and sober for the long run. Every single member of the staff are, honestly, heavily invested in helping there clients. From the cleaning staff, who keep the build spotless..to the kitchen staff as well, the food was great. The Hillside fosters a spirit of love, hope, knowledge, and community. I was assigned a specialized staff for my stay at Hillside. From consoling, case management, nursing, physiologist, medication provider, even a specialist to help me with my transition after my 30 day stay! Words can not really express how grateful I am to my Hillside team and peers that I met during my treatment. For the staff: You guy where a springboard of hope for my future. I will never forget each and every one of you, love you guys, you rock!! For those of you in recovery, NEVER QUIT. For those of you that need help, Hillside is LEGIT!

This place has helped me and taught me so much about my addiction and myself. The staff on all levels has been outstanding on both a professional level and a personal level. They have helped guide me, and given me the… pathways I desperately needed to overcome my disease. I could name every staff member individually that has gotten me through this journey. This facility has felt like a home away from home for me, and the staff like family. A special thank you to Meghan O. And the others involved with setting up the alumni commitment and the peer led morning AA group. I am proud and grateful to be a Hillside alumni.

Hillside provides a safe and learning environment. The staff is well equipped to support the patients in both one-on-one and group settings. Having employees who are in recovery provide a sense of belonging for the… patient, as staff are able to relate and respond with kindness, knowledge, experience and compassion. What is missing is alumni program. This component would allow former patients the opportunity to remain connected and grounded by their Hillside experience. I for one would love to remain involved and support this service.

I had a very, very positive experience at Hillside Alcohol & Drug Detox. One thing that really stood out to me was how person-centered the program felt. The staff treated clients like human beings instead of just… another number, which made a huge difference in the overall environment and recovery experience. Unlike many facilities that create unnecessary barriers, Hillside has taken steps to remove some of them. Allowing clients to keep access to personal items such as cell phones and laptops helped maintain connection with family, responsibilities, and outside support systems. I also appreciated that service animals were allowed, recognizing the important role they can play in emotional support and recovery. At the same time, I understand that access to electronics may not be helpful for everyone during the recovery process and could potentially become a distraction for some individuals. However, I appreciated that Hillside approached this in a balanced and individualized way rather than using a one-size-fits-all model. Another thing I appreciated was the continued support after discharge. Since leaving Hillside, staff have reached out to check in and ask how things have been going since leaving the facility. They also have aftercare coordinators who help connect individuals with additional recovery supports and programs that may fit their needs, such as IOP, PHP, outpatient services, and other recovery resources. I am also happy to report that since leaving Hillside, I have remained on a positive path in my recovery journey and have not found the need to pick up a drink. Having a supportive and respectful environment during those early stages truly made a difference for me. Overall, the atmosphere felt compassionate, respectful, and focused on person-centered care, meeting individuals where they are at within their recovery journey. That humanizing approach can make a major impact for someone taking the difficult first steps toward recovery.

I recently had a stay at treatment at Hillside in Newton, MA and I have to give a huge shoutout to supervisor Staci. From day one, her energy, compassion, and genuine dedication made a world of difference in my… experience. Staci is truly one of a kind. She goes above and beyond for every single client, not just keeping clients safe, but actually caring deeply about our well-being and recovery. Whether it was offering support during tough moments, making sure clients felt heard, or finding ways to make the environment more comfortable, she was always there with a positive attitude and a helping hand. Her amazing energy lights up the whole facility and gives hope to everyone around her. Thanks to Staci, my stay at Hillside was so much more manageable and even uplifting at times. She has helped me and countless others feel supported and valued during one of the hardest times in our lives. If you’re considering Hillside, know that having a supervisor like Staci makes this facility truly special.

Best detox and Residential rehab I have ever been to. I’ve been to many rehabs in Massachusetts and none of them compare to Hillside. They make you feel comfortable and safe, with a wonderful recovery team. I highly… recommend Hillside to anyone who is struggling with addiction, mental health or both like me. I’m blessed to have found this place and I thank all of the staff, nurses & doctors for helping me during my recovery. It’s truly the best rehab in Massachusetts!

All my life I struggled with self love and the voices in my head kept saying I'm not good enough. And I hated myself, I tried to calm down this voices by graduating my bachelor's degree in Finance and accounting at the… age of 19, I worked for 4 years for big organisations including Deloitte and was getting my Master's in Boston and this voice still wouldn't stop echoing. I joined hillside detox for the first time for alcohol and I thought I was healed and I went back out but I'm thankful for this place that they allowed me to Join the second time. I'm 8 months sober now and doing my step 9 with my sponsor. I'm an international student and I love that this place loves you and treats you the same no matter whichever drug of choice you have had or ethnicity. Attached pictures for reference, I came in at 130 pounds and gained 40 pounds and also realised I was suffering with spiritual sickness and only a higher power could restore me to sanity. My whole life I kept focusing on me-my problems,my success,my money but once I turned the focus towards God and started helping another human, I found serenity. The staff is very loving and friendly (food, clean bathrooms,tv, unlimited smoke breaks) all those stuff were really awesome and helpful when your body is on the verge of dying and detoxification but the staff also goes over and above their duties to help counsel us emotionally which eventually helped me today, that I quit nicotine as well. Thanks for Jamie who made this possible.

Hillside has by far been the pin-point to my sobriety. I started my sobriety journey here and have been 2 times since. Everyone is beyond supportive whether it be the staff or the nurses. Everyone is kind and very much… there for you. I highly recommend Hillside for anyone who is seeking a comfortable, safe, and supportive environment!!

Once you come here, you will never go to or suggest another facility. This place is a step above and provides an experience that opens the mind to the experience of recovery by making it pleasant, comfortable, and even… fun; the staff are almost all in recovery themselves and go above and beyond to connect with and provide understanding to every individual client, and the quality of therapeutic intervention is essential to getting into the process of healing! If you or a loved one are looking for help, and feel afraid of the prospect of being in a detox/rehab facility, I hope that you can believe those that this place has worked for and give it a chance and I promise you will not regret it, from the food, to the rooms, to the groups and the people around you this place is designed, by addicts in recovery for recovering addicts, to center comfort and humanity, and it never fails to meet that standard! Extra thanks to Jillian, Zach, Joey, DD, Pam, Henson, Marisa, Tyesha, Stacy, Steven and Justin and the Kitchen staff, Douggie, Benny, Larry, Matt, Jake, Jay, Connor, Dan, Dev, Rachel, and last but certainly not least Zeina! I owe y’all my life, my sober life, which I wouldn’t trade for the world (and let the length of that list speak for itself)
