Hurley House – Waltham

I don't know what to say about this house...my stay was 5 months..I stayed clean the entire stay and my counselor Mike D was pretty good..unfortunately there was a number of relapses that occurred with other clients… while I was there..One taking its direct effect on me being antagonized.It resulted in me as an ex boxer in the National Guard and College to react....The outcome was grim..

Strict no nonsense house. They hold you accountable and do their best to support you in your recovery. Counselors could stand to Listen more rather than barking their wisdom at clients but other than that they do well… enough to keep you on track. I'm grateful for the opportunity to be here.

Worst house ever they throw you out for little rules like being 1 minute late for group they target certain clients and they don’t want you on all your prescribed medication they brake the code for conduct constantly… and only make there own rules when it suites them it is by far the most hurtful environment for someone who’s trying to do the rite thing

My experience at Hurly House was less then satisfactory, not recommended unless you have to. Beyond helping stay sober, they can’t get anymore survives for you. 25 present of the staff are not good at what they do.… However the man that runs the program is an alcoholic that is not an approbate person for the job. The even bigger problem, was after I left and I came back to pick up my items which (they said are to be in safe and secure) There was a lot of stuff missing and someone in the staff that had control of this allowed it to happen. The thrives in Hurly house took $600 in construction equipment, an $400 in endurance winter clothing along various smaller items. For a situation like this to happen, it shows the Hurly House has to clean up!

I was told that the hurley house was a good house i was poorly informed. Maybe 10years ago. Now there's more bed bugs then clients by far with me leaving today because I was eaten alive by bed bugs they might have 6… brave souls sticking it out. I was there for five days thats all I could bare. I feel bad for the poor souls that get screwed into going to that house they don't have anyone there so they have pawn the house on someone. Every group was a joke and to top it off one of the counselors thought it would be a good idea to bring a guy to group that was getting kicked out for being so drunk he could barely walk and have the group about i think that group made everyone want to release

Staff are sicker than clients place has gone way down hill most are high
