IMPOWER – Longwood Detox and Rehab Services
The register shows IMPOWER – Longwood providing intensive outpatient and outpatient care. Day programming is scheduled, with evenings spent at home. The right level of care is a clinical judgement rather than a preference, and an assessment should produce a defined answer.

Therapy is a joke.. if you need an antidepressant or any psych meds prescribed, and you're not really genuinely looking for a good therapist, then I suggest impower. Otherwise, i'm very unimpressed with this shit show
Our son recently completed the program at The Grove, and he is a changed person. The entire staff truly care about the teens in their care. The group therapy and individual therapy sessions made a big difference in… turning his life around.
Recently my grandson attended the 90 day program at The Grove and although he didn’t complete his program successfully (his own doing) the staff and system was exceptional. He loved all the staff there, enjoyed his… food, and really grew from the therapy, whether group or individual. The therapist identified his needs, which meant more mental health support, since he needs more than substance abuse treatment. His ADHD diagnosis helped me to get him to a psychiatrist for the right medication. I loved how streamlined the process was for intake, and the communication was great with all the staff we spoke with from Alina and Kerwyne to the nurse and his therapists, especially David. My boy was a handful, but they were so professional and compassionate that he has said he missed being there with them. That’s quite a testament to the level of care he received. The photo is on intake day with his nurse, a true gem.
My son completed The Grove’s inpatient rehabilitation program. It was a complete success and they showed my baby love and compassion! He is SO much better now than when he went in! They will caring for his after care as… well and I do believe that that will also be very successful!
Excellent therapy Christina helped me so much with my trauma therapy. Thank you impower!
Excellent services. Our therapist was great and she really helped my daughter.
Excellent care, I love telehealth because I can do it from the comfort of my own home. Therapist is great. Helped me with anxiety. Clinic listened to my needs
Nightmare service
We are so incredibly thankful for this 90-day inpatient program. When our daughter went in, we were scared and exhausted. The staff treated her with so much kindness and respect, and they truly cared about her as a… person — not just her addiction. Over those three months, we watched her slowly come back to herself. She gained confidence, healthier coping skills, and real hope for her future. The program met her needs and gave her a strong foundation for recovery. This place gave our daughter her life back, and for that, we will always be grateful.
I've been a patient for about three years, and my therapists Ivelisse Rivera, Marien Díaz, and Yazmín McGill have helped me a lot in therapy sessions. I'm grateful to this program that helps my son and other patients.… Thanks to them and this program, I recommend it if you need help; this is the place. Thanks again to Impower.
Impower has helped me a lot my therapist Shampa and Doctor Daniel Rynn is so kind they listens to me and has helped me with my mental and emotional health problems I would not change Impower or my therapist for any… other Out patient health clinic . 🙂
Absolutely awesome my therapist Shampa is the best therapist I have ever had I have been with impower for a very long time years and I can honestly say that I could not manage life on a daily basis without her help she… keeps me grounded I don't think I would ever want another therapist either I hope and pray that I can keep her for a long time as my therapist I've been through a few of them and she is the best one so far let's just put it this way life would be much harder without her help and I'm sure her other patients would agree I recommend therapy to a lot of people because it honestly does help one thing I have learned you cannot keep things bottled up or you become a ticking time bomb therapy is something I recommend to everyone because even when you think it doesn't help it really does to everyone who is not doing therapy at least just give it a try I promise you will see a difference🙏😇💓
Very bad place for someone really struggling with G.A.D. I felt judged right off the bat. And I was asked my religion in my eval? What business is it of theirs? I felt uncomfortable off the bat and asked for a refund. I… feel very very disappointed.
The Grove saved my daughter. The staff was beyond loving and helpful. There were not challenges but that is to be expected. Mr Reggie, Ms Kerwyne the daily staff the nurse…they all embraced and loved my daughter. I will… forever be grateful.
My child attended under the care of a psychiatrist for several years. It was medication management, no more or less. Her doctor was aware of her entire medical history, which includes ARFID, a mental disorder that leads… to difficulty finding foods that feel safe to consume. This is important for later. Also, she’s one of gobs of neurodivergent children who got taught that gender and sexual orientation are important ti focus on, and she’s gone five years saying she’s a gay trans man. We never got rescheduled after the conclusion of an appointment, so oftentimes we would go months without, which was fine because we didn’t need monthly appointments, but it was ridiculous trying to set up one that they should have done automatically. My child has several disorders and we see too many practitioners to keep up with doing IMPOWER’s administrative work, especially as I do all of this myself along with two jobs. We ended up getting a new psychiatrist because one lapse was so long. One would think they would call, but no. My child had to have a new psychiatric evaluation done, which was perfect because I needed an updated one. That evaluation was not a full assessment. Why they gave her a mini-eval is not known to me, but it lists two diagnoses while not even touching on the other four diagnoses she has that impact her the most. But we did learn during this time that they can provide a therapist. We needed a new one because I was tired of paying out of pocket for such a necessity. When my child had her first appointment, it seemed fine. They had an hour session and I respect her privacy during these times. On the second appointment, I spoke with Melinda, the therapist, and told her that over the past several years, no therapists had did any digging into why she feels like she’s a man, a gay man. She fits zero symptoms of gender dysphoria. I told her she could use her chosen name but that this is a subject that needs touched on. I had no support in this area and I don’t simply accept a self-diagnosis with nothing to back it up, like any disorder. I then handed the phone to my daughter and carried on with my work. She scheduled my daughter for the next week. Minutes later, I received a text from Melinda stating that she tried calling but got no answer. I had no missed calls. She continued on to say that she can no longer treat my child because of her eating disorder, the one at the top of her chart. Ok, Melinda. No one called to get her a new therapist. I called numerous times with the promise of a call back. I even said,”do you promise to call me back?” to which they replied with an affirmative. They didn’t. After several wasted hours, she finally got a new appointment for two months later, because they have no one except one person that was out on leave until the end of August. The staff are usually nice. But they never, ever follow through. It’s worse than calling a pharmacy, being forced to hear their entire spiel, then beg to be connected to the pharmacy. They often don’t answer at all. My child has complex trauma issues, and she needs care now. They have been so reckless and careless with my daughter, it leads me to believe that they are not in the business of helping anyone. If they are taxpayer funded, I hope to expose them as I have been able to do with a lessor offender, now that we hold people accountable for malpractice. An organization such as this does not take a complex pediatric patient with complex trauma and mental disorders and pretend she’s not even a client. Find somewhere else for your child if they need help now, not months from now.
Excellent service! My two children have improved since being cared for at this company. J. Joyce and Damaris de Jesus are excellent people, the service is excellent, and the understanding towards families is excellent.… Thank you, IMPOWER! I appreciate all your staff. Excellent service. Greetings from Gloria, Luis, and Cristina.
This business is a horrible place horrible entity. It needs to be investigated by Florida Medicaid service which I am gonna report it to Medicaid. Because they don’t care about children or children mental health. The… doctor left my son without any medication, knowing that he needed medicine horrible establishment
The receptionist is very rude and hung up on me and this is a continue problem with this place. But the Dr Austin is amazing. They definitely need a new staff who knows how to answer the phone properly and talk to… people correctly
Mrs Kerwyne
Very caring and professional staff.mydaughter gain so much knowledge on how to say no to drugs
My daughter just graduated the program this week April 2025. I am so grateful for ALL the staff at Impower from management, therapists, counselors, nurses, caretakers, etc. I was blown away by how they truly cared about… my daughter’s well being and getting her back on the right track. She’s learned coping skills, organization, more responsibility, and better communication skills that I can already see she is using in her day to day life at home. They helped her get to the root of the problem and worked thru it with her. She also was able to catch up on all the school work she was behind through FLVS and even started classes in the next grade. Thank you thank you thank you. I feel like we can finally move past these past few years of trouble and finish off her teenage years on a better path. You all are amazing people and should truly be proud of the work you do in the community with our children.
The staff is great and I have never had any issues with getting information on my clients. I would recommend them.
I have utilized the GROVE often over the years for treatment purposes. The program took personal interest and implemented specific individual customized treatment plans for new clients. I appreciate the support the… GROVE for assisting at risk youth in Central Florida. Kerwyne is always helpful to get at-risk young men and women placed at the GROVE.
I have been with IMPOWER for eight years without incident. I’ve had the same psychiatrist and at least six different psychologists. I do not consider that looking out for the patient. Every time I had to start with a… new therapist, I had to go backwards for their benefit so they could get to know me. Really?? No S O A P Notes? Why did I have my mental health interrupted? Now that I’ve been reaching a good place, they have a new director who wants to alter everything. I have several mental health issues, battling suicide is one of them. My medication has not been altered because it has been working for me. However, I have other medical issues that require a gross amount of medication. RA, Thrombocytopenia ITP, Pulmonary, Cardiac, Osteoarthritis. All the above each come with a plethora of medications. I already have stage one liver disease and an extremely compromised immune system. I opted to discuss medical marijuana with my doctor and we agreed that could alleviate many of the side affects from the medication like nausea, constant dry, heaving, vomiting, abdominal cramps. Instead abusing a medication for every ailment medical marijuana seems like the most reasonable and natural way to go. After all this time and enduring the cost of maintaining the card, there’s a new Director in the program. Coming in new and calling yourself cleaning house is not the way to run a mental health program. I am 65 years old and I feel like I am being treated like some type of street drug user. Does he not know that medical cannabis is regulated? Does he not know that this required a letter from my physician before I spoke to a cannabis position? Does he not know that the use of medical marijuana is not only natural but a seed that was put here for our medicinal purposes. Not using this in any religious term either. I’m flabbergasted that somebody running a medical health Would have the temerity to treat someone like me with this type of judgment. I do not want to leave or sever ties with my current psychiatrist, but this is forcing me to do so as he wants everyone in the program to take a urinalysis. Really? I’ve never taken a year analysis in my life what is wrong with him? I have contacted United Healthcare and I have spoken with A representative who went above and beyond helping me. I am sure there are other people in the program experiencing the same feelings that I am, however, I just can’t keep quiet about this. This is ludicrous! I have nothing else to say other than I will certainly miss my psychiatrist. I also come with a certain degree of abandonment issues and this certainly feels like one.
I love my therapist. Very glad I found her.
Proud to and appreciated for all what they have done and increase my daughter reputation and she is beyond bless for what they have done for her Thank you
My daughter been a patient for a while without any warning she had a appointment today and they discharged her and didnt give enough time to find a doctor and get an appointment! I asked what about her meds and… receptionist told me take her to emergency room! Y so they can bake act her!! Very rude, unprofessional!
They are the worst. Don’t care when they interrupt or stop medications. Do after taking patient off it. I told the Psychiatrist I have glaucoma. All the months I been taking the medications. He decided to tell me. To… stop taking medications. I disagree because I did it. I got sick like symptoms. So I went back and took the medications after he advised me to stop. First these medications can’t be stopped because it has serious withdrawal side affects. I experienced it. If you’re going to take patients off medication because of medical conditions such as glaucoma. It must be gradual weaning off it. Not stopping all together. It’s unwise and unprofessional to suggest it. All antidepressants have side effects. Even with medical conditions. I told my Psychiatrist I had glaucoma. Put didn’t stop my medications. But I’m just disgusted and disappointed
