Lakes Regional MH/MR Center – Paris Detox and Rehab Services
Lakes Regional MH/MR Center – Paris appears on the register for intensive outpatient and outpatient care. Day programming is scheduled, with evenings spent at home. A proper assessment sets the level rather than leaving it to guesswork, and it is worth asking for one explicitly.

This review is for both kids and adults... If you are an adult with no insurance and need/want actual therapy this isn't the place to go. If all you want is someone to shove drugs down your throat, give them a call. The… fact is that if you don't tell them you want to "leave this planet" RIGHT THEN AND THERE all you are getting is drugs. If you aren't on your last leg you won't ever see a therapist. The caseworker who saw me was rude, hateful and judged every single word that came out of my mouth. I was told not to share anything about myself, to answer the questions only. She had no interest in my elaborating or hearing my story beyond the questions. When I asked her why she was so rude she said to me "if you feel judged, that's a you problem. Maybe talk to your therapist about that". Then didn't approve me for therapy! A lifetime of abuse, a lifetime of trauma complete with suicidal idealization and no therapy? Even the nurse that I saw said that I desperately needed therapy and couldn't understand that woman's behavior or WHY she said she wouldn't listen to me. As for the kids side. Two of my kids refuse to go to therapy after they put their disabled sister in danger by calling APS on us simply because we don't have hot water after the city told us we had to replace every single gas pipe in our house 8 months ago and we can't afford a 15,000 bill. We now heat water up on our stove for baths, which my kids take regularly. Not having hot water isn't illegal nor is it neglect. Even adult protective services was annoyed by the report. The facilities for children like my daughter, who is VERY well loved and cared for, are flat out dangerous to people who cannot speak up for themselves. Our home is clean, well cared for, she is loved, she is clean, she is happy. My kids went for help and now they don't trust their therapists! And YES they told us all who made the report after touring our home then proceeded to tell us that BOGUS reports are a habit of lakes regional and even they are sick of it. How can I help my children if they cannot trust their therapists?!!! I went to the begging for help and all they did was make it worse. And God forbid you have any kind of emergency and can't see the nurse. They will immediately cut you off medication and set an appointment for 3 months later. What kind of sick organization just cut patients with mental health disorders, especially children, off medication over a missed appointment as if the nurse couldnt call and ask the exact same questions she will ask you in person on the phone? As if the weight and vitals aren't doable another day and only take 5 minutes. The damage this could do to someone's mental health is WORSE than never putting them on to begin with. The withdrawals? People DIE from psychiatric medication withdrawals? Having to become acclimated again is also an issue. They are SHAMEFUL and DO NOT give a crap about their patients past their savior complex. And fyi, we called in because our house caught on fire two hours before our appointment and we were waiting on the electrician!!! I HAD NO CHOICE. Chances are they will once again call CPS and it will be their fault.
I, as an adult, left Lakes Regional feeling even more worthless and depressed than when I walked in. The intake person was rude, aggressive in her manner of speaking, had zero empathy, was callous with zero bedside… manner and to be frank, quite possibly needed therapy herself. They refused me actual counseling, which no decent therapists office would do had they actually wanted to get to know me beyond the form questions their AI diagnosing system uses. Instead they just want to push drugs, drugs, drugs into my system instead of actually teaching much needed coping mechanisms to make life less difficult and easier to maneuver. It's no wonder Paris has a drug epidemic, all the state allows the low cost therapist to do is give out drugs instead of actually COUNSEL people. Drugs do nothing on their own but mask problems and create addiction. People suffering the affects of CPTSD and other psychiatric condition need drugs and therapy TOGETHER! Do better Texas and train your intake specialists to treat people with more compassion.
Alhamdulillah (praise be to God), I love going here. Everyone is so helpful with mental health advice. I enjoy being able to understand the perspectives of so many others. My case worker is very helpful with my mental… health condition. Mashahllah (God has willed it), asalam alaikum (peace be upon you). 😊
Love it here
love how all the low star reviews don't bother to leave a comment just because they don't want to get found out.... anyway if it's 4:15 onward on a weekday they'll just pick up the phone long enough to let it get heard… then send it to the part like when you first call to push a number
I have been to so many places but I never felt heard like this before. Meds working but you're having annoying side effects? They'll listen to you and they'll let you try everything until you find what you like! They do… it right too! They check in with you to make sure you're okay, you can call anytime if you need help with anything, and they have soooo many resources to help you. Addiction, medicine, therapy, if you want to get help, this is the place you should go. They understand you. Too busy? They do over the phone appointments sometimes too! Not to mention how personable everyone is. The ladies up front will remember you, the doctors and nurses are spectacular human beings! They're all a little goofy but they're also wonderful listeners. If you are reading this, just go. What's the worse that could happen? They won't let you get worse and stay that way. It's worth the effort.
They're good people, they listen and actually give good advice.
