I called to confirm an appointment that was set up. I was told no such appointment exist. When inquiring about scheduling such I was told they close in 9 minutes and I would have to call back on Monday. It’s a screening… process that you have go through just to get an appointment (so I was told). The fact that this young lady was such in a hurry to get off the phone and make me wait to call back because she didn’t have enough time to go through the process of setting up an appointment. On top of that o don’t appreciate her having an entire conversation whil answering the phone. I rather not have to hear that nor the laughing she was doing with the first few seconds of answering the call. I called a 4:19pm and it takes all of 2-3 minutes to get connected. Pluse the first question your asked of you are a US citizen which I don’t even understand why it matters. If people need help- no matter who they are let them seek treatment.

Update 10/24/25: I have decreased my rating to 3 stars because for the past few months, the wait time just to see the doctor is abysmal. Sometimes, I’m waiting over an hour just to be seen. Sometimes, they get backed up… and it takes patients a long time to be seen after first arriving. My opinion on the staff hasn’t changed, only the wait times. Once this problem decreases or is resolved, I will edit my review again. I’ve been with MHSD for a little less than 10 years and I came to this location in 2022 after aging out of the Chartres-Pontchartrain location. At first, I was extremely treatment-resistant and didn’t have the right treatment plan, but after some ups and downs, I’ve finally stuck with a consistent treatment plan and I’ve definitely mellowed out overtime (after experiencing several rather severe episodes over the years). Overall, I highly recommend their services for your mental health needs. The staff are friendly and professional and services (at least at this location) are fast and easy.
