OhioGuidestone – Lorain Detox and Rehab Services

Recorded services at OhioGuidestone – Lorain are partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient and outpatient care. Structured outpatient runs to a schedule while people return home in the evening. Which of these is appropriate depends on an assessment, not on what sounds manageable at the time.

Co-occurring mental health conditions are addressed alongside substance use, which is the approach the evidence supports. It is worth asking how many hours a week the program runs, because that decides whether it fits around everything else.

OhioGuidestone – Lorain Address, Location and Contact Information

OhioGuidestone – Lorain is located at 2173 North Ridge Road in Lorain, Ohio, 44055. The city lies within Lorain County. The catchment reaches beyond the city itself. The practical question of getting to appointments week after week is worth thinking through at the outset.

A quick call before you go will settle directions, parking and what to expect first time. Where travel is difficult, ask whether an initial appointment can be held remotely. If the first call does not reach anyone, try again at a different time of day rather than assuming the service is closed.

I have had a great experience with Ohio Guidestone. The school where my kids go recommended this service and right away they got seen and we have weekly in-home appointments setup with a therapist. There's even an… option for school visits and virtual visits. We have no complaints and like our therapist very much. I can't say how the office runs because we've never gone there.

A lady from here called me to do a phone assessment for disability and it took over an hour to do. My boyfriend helped with answering the questions. I waited about a week to hear from them and they never called me so… when I called them, the lady on the phone said they don't even do disability there. She said it's counseling and therapy only. So why did I have over an hour long phone assessment from these guys? Was it a scam to get my personal information??? This place is a joke.

We had multiple intake appts, including some that never called. We were told counselors would come to my child’s school and never did. And after a year we were told to look somewhere else b/c they had limited people… that would come out due to my insurance. Wasted precious time and energy. Very disappointed.

There is a really great provider here named Carlton and I wanted my child to be seen with him but they lost the records 3 times. I went to appointments where nobody showed, and finally someone from the county IT… department called and said that my phone appointment would be cancelled and they were working on it and would call me back. Never got a call back it's been about 3 months. Went somewhere else instead

This place in an unprofessional JOKE. Especially dealing with children. They are very unorganized, unprofessional. Find somewhere else to take your children if that's an option. Don't understand how some in the field of… dealing with children can be so awful. Find somewhere else.

HORRIBLE. Not even a one star. I waited 2 weeks for them to verify my insurance. Then 2 weeks for a virtual appointment. Then they never sent the link for the appointment! Do not waste your time with this outfit.

Horrible experience with these people. They never return phone calls and are impossible to get ahold of. I've ran out of medications several times in the last 6 months and can't get through to anyone for refills. This… place does NOT care about their patients at all.

The psychiatrist last month didn’t send my scripts until I had the supervisor step in and now she sent in the wrong dosage amount on my one rx. I need a 30 day supply not 15! I also saw a counselor here but she was very… robotic when I would speak with her and never showed any compassion to me. I will be changing agencies.

★☆☆☆☆
Taraina Cooke7 years ago

My daughter has been seen through this agency often in person & televised sessions. The only person who seemed to have compassion was the psychiatrist but never called her Rx in nor followed up. They don't return calls… and her, then counselor who is now a supervisor repeatedly relayed to my daughter as well as myself, separately that we could always switch to another counselor. Found this out later which made my daughter shut down. They made us feel as though they didn't care.

They don't even deserve one star. Constantly changing doctors at the Lorain location. My son hasn't even been there a full year and theyre about to have the THIRD doctor start July 2017. No returned phone calls, waited… 25 minutes on the phone for it to be disconnected. Once I was told my son had to wait three months since my son hasn't been there in over a month. Which was a lie. I had to take my son to the brookpark location the previous month and she said he wasn't there cause it didn't show up in the system. The doctor that just left even said even if that was the case, which it wasn't, they have no business even telling anybody to wait any period of time. Thier job is scheduling nothing more. My son has ran out of medication numerous times because of them. I'm in the process of transferring to Applewood, so I HIGHLY suggest you do not send your child here unless you enjoy a high turn over rate with doctors, no answered phones, being on hold for a LARGE amount of time and the overall unprofessionalism of this place.
