Loved it here staff is very sweet and very helpful. also, Anaya and Curtis Matthews, vashti and Jonathan are my favorites, but overall everyone is so sweet. We had movie night and petting zoos and cool stuff like that.
I witnessed a man get assaulted. He was actually ganged up on by two people. A man threw a rock at him and threatened him with a pipe. This is all true. The Alpharetta police Refused to remove the man who committed this… assault and the facility kicked out the man who was assaulted. My only theory could be that The man who was assaulted had less lucrative Insurance than the man who committed the assault. Quite a travesty. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone who is interested in staying safe while detoxing. Life is hard enough without having to worry about being beat up at a subpar detox facility. I would recommend Black Bear in the north Ga mountains. It’s beautiful and they run a very tight ship
Just go say addiction is never easy for the family. My brother went and got treatment. I was very concerned but Emily made the process so much easier and calmed my concerns. I think she is exceptional. Thank you for… your kindness.
I’m not proud of it, but I’ve had to utilize sunrise detox multiple times in my addiction and up until this last experience the staff was incredible . The staff is still incredible actually except for the negligent.… Clinical Director, who knowingly saw me get assaulted twice on camera physically, but then kicked me out in the middle of detoxing when one of the two people who wanted to fight me continue to threaten me in the hallway, I take responsibility for getting upset I guess what I never laid a finger on anyone I never assaulted anyone one gentleman through a rocking me picked up a pipe, threatened me with it, and also shot me and it was all on camera. I’m not wanting to call the police, but she kicked me out in the middle of detoxing she refused to give me a ride home and I was upset so so she refused to follow the protocol and give me a ride to the hospital in the middle of me detoxing so due to the injustice of the clinical directors decisions, I decided to call the police. The police said oh well, you can be charged with disorderly conduct and I told them about the assault so I backed out but then I thought about it. They’re just gonna let this psychopath who assault people for interrupting a football game for three seconds when there’s three separate TVs he could watch TV football on. So I called them back. Guess what the police said this time? There’s conflicting stories? How can what’s on a camera be a conflicting story? Assault with a weapon weapon is a level eight felony in Georgia if it had been me that it put me under the jail, seeing how all I did was snap at the guy who threatened me in the hallway I was booted out in the street in the middle of detoxing. I spoke with my personal injury attorney today and they made me leave the property because I was assaulted and got upset about being assaulted and getting no justice and being the one that was kicked out for it while detoxing mind you so I don’t know if I have to speak to internal affairs for the police until they’ll finally look at the footage see the assault happen and then finally remove this person from the rest of the vulnerable patients at this place or if I could just get some financial compensation for my pain and suffering for being kicked out in the middle of the night while detoxing after being assaulted either way, the clinical director should lose her job for negligence and I would recommend never ever sending a loved one there because you never know who this clinical director is gonna favor. Doesn’t seem to be the guy who gets assaulted. It seems to be the one who does the assaulting over a three minute interruption because I picked up a frog brought them inside and tried to show it to the fellas ingratiate myself with the rest of the The guys. I know that sounds crazy, but you know when you’re in detox, you try to do anything to break the monotony. I broke a rule and possibly committed disorderly conduct. I’m willing to take that charge if the police in Alpharetta will do their job and a rest a person for a crime that they committed a felony multiple felonies. Something tells me they won’t though so it’s gonna fall on the clinical director. Like I said sunrise used to be a great place but if you wanna go somewhere that you’re not in danger of having an ass assault on you being covered up and ignored and also blamed for I would avoid
The staff was super kind and made me feel comfortable. Being new to to yoga and going in initially a little nervous, I immediately felt welcome and excited to start on my journey! Lina was very patient and kind. I’m… excited to have her as an instructor on my path to healing and taking care of myself again. Thank you sunrise!
Amazing place..the staff is Amazing it's a painless experience
Kincaid is very kind and supportive jonathan was the best too me and very understanding
Let me start with the food… only because I was a former chef. The food is prepared fresh EVERY meal by actual trained Chefs. Not only do they serve amazing food, they genuinely care about the clients. This plays a HUGE… part with clients getting the nutrients they need to heal and grow. I enjoyed every meal and conversation with them. The staff to client ratio here is the best I have experienced at this level of care. All of the staff from the techs, nurses, counselors, clinical directors, providers, and admissions do their job well. They ACTUALLY care about the clients and get to know them personally. My Counselor was absolutely amazing. He helped me out more than he could know. I also had my moments with stress and frustration. It was handled with understanding and empathy, rather than judgement or punishment. Thank you brother, I am very grateful we met. My medication provider got to know me on a personal level and they listened to my situation and needs. THEY ABSOLUTELY DO NOT OVERPRESCRIBE or make you suffer with a poor taper. It was a breath of fresh air after previous experiences. My medication that was prescribed helped me stabilize and improve my mood and experience. I plan on staying on the prescribed medication and continuing my psychiatric care. Aldo the techs do an amazing job. They are on the front lines night and day with new admission patients. They actually get to know the clients and participate in their recovery as well. Some of them even participate in activities with clients. They deal with a lot at times and they handle it professionally and with compassion. The nurses also got to know me on a personal level. They genuinely care about the clients needs and well being. Medication time was always warm and welcoming. Also sometimes I would discuss any issues I was having and they would listen. I had a cardiac emergency from a genetic heart condition and the nurses worked hard to stabilize me. IT LITERALLY helped save my life. I am beyond grateful for this. 🙏 Tomorrow is my last day here after a 30 day stay. I can honestly say I will miss the staff and food from here. If you stay in GRATITUDE you can heal and grow here. We all have our moments, that is what recovery is. Learning to stick and stay with the plan, even when all you want to do is run! The staff here helped see me all the way to the finish line. I can honestly say I am very grateful to have come here. I celebrated 10 years no drinking this year, but there is more work to do 💪. Thank you Sunrise Staff, you helped me more than you know. I am speaking from a grateful heart. I am actually sad to leave and that says a lot about the staff I met here. They helped me heal and grow. Now it is time to put to work what I learned during my stay. ❤️🩹
As the spouse of a patient, I do not recommend you take your loved one to this facility. My husband was inpatient for 8 days of his stay without meeting with a counselor. When I started calling asking questions, the… local people were telling me all addicts are liars. Yes, they do tell lies but if/when they are there to actually get help, and can’t see a counselor for 8 days? Total issues with care. When I called corporate, I did get a call from the director but he didn’t have any information and that the clinical manager Teresa would call me back in the morning. A little after 11 I called and she told me she left a meeting to take my call and just planned to call sometime in the afternoon. Not return the call in the morning as promised. Found out it’s because they quickly scheduled a counseling visit to slide it in before she was going to call back. No urgency when I brought up issues regarding counseling, she was very dismissive. She asked my spouse in front of the assigned counselor if he wanted to switch counselors knowing that he is a people pleaser. And then surprised when I had to call her back with his real answer. Totally unprofessional. Never followed up after the counselor was changed and to see that issues were addressed. Also, sent home without prescriptions he took everyday while there for rehab as they were changes to his home meds. So we need to track that down. Big kudos to Jeff (the 2nd counselor)! You have been an amazing influence on my husband and hopefully my hubby will continue on his path of sobriety. Another shout out is to Colin. Very helpful, and has helped me out with getting fmla and other paperwork signed. Also friendly when at the front desk. If the facility were more like these two, they would have a great facility. Big issues with back office staff (esp Teresa and the counselor initially assigned who never had a session in 8 days). Big issues with staff communication. And don’t believe any of the information regarding family from their website- they don’t follow through on any of it. I hope the consultant that is there now manages to get to the root of the issues and care improves. Patients deserve better, family deserves better.
I had a very positive experience at Sunrise Detox. Jeff Hamilton is an amazing counselor. He genuinely cares, listens, and has a way of helping you look at things differently without making you feel judged. Nate and… Lawrence are also amazing chefs. The food was consistently good, and that may sound like a small thing, but when you're going through detox and having a difficult time physically and mentally, having good meals really does make a difference. The techs, nursing staff (Howard, Justin, Denise, Joi, Lisa, LeAnn, Beth, and Millie the Wonder Dog), and nurse practitioners (Brooke & James) were also very good. I felt like the majority of the staff truly cared about the people they were helping and understood how difficult detox can be. Detox is obviously not somewhere anyone wants to have to go, but the people at Sunrise made a very difficult situation much more manageable. I especially want to recognize Jeff, Nate, Lawrence, and Brooke for the impact they had on my experience. I am very grateful for the care and support I received while I was there.
Avoid Sunrise Detox — Read Before You Go This was the most unsatisfying and unprofessional experience I've had with a treatment facility. If I could leave a negative star rating, I would. Medical care: On my second day,… staff dosed me with Suboxone too early, which triggered precipitated withdrawal — a well-known risk of Suboxone induction that's far less likely with Subutex. When I described what I was going through, staff denied and dismissed my symptoms instead of helping. I was left in my own vomit in bed for days before I had the strength to get up and clean myself. I would have been better off going through this at home. Facility conditions: Showers and rooms had no controllable temperature. Basic comfort wasn't a priority anywhere in the building. Discharge and property: When I finally had the energy and decided to leave, they held my property for 2 days — in violation of their own stated 24-hour policy. Billing: Part of why my spouse agreed to go was the assurance that her stay would be covered by insurance at no out-of-pocket cost. Staff later charged her mother $2,000 directly, without ever telling us they'd contacted her or that money was owed. Harassment: My spouse was harassed by male staff and male patients on multiple occasions, including a male staff member walking into her private bathroom while she was undressed. Do not use this facility or any facility associated with this company.
Emily in Intake was beyond helpful and accommodating and deserves a glowing review and a ton of appreciation!
I had an amazing experience at Sunrise Detox. From the moment I arrived, everyone treated me with kindness, respect, and genuine compassion. The staff made a difficult time so much easier, and I always felt safe and… supported throughout my stay. A special thank you to Emily, who went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable and cared for. She was incredibly knowledgeable, patient, and encouraging, and her positive attitude made a huge difference every day. It’s clear that she truly cares about the people she helps.
My son is currently a resident in this facility. I’m very unhappy with some of the staff members there on Sunday. I tried to call nine different times Throughout the day and couldn’t get anyone to answer the phone… finally, when I did I was left on hold for 14 minutes. No one came back to the phone so I called again. I was finally able to speak to him. His counselor reached out to me and asked certain questions about him as he’s had an addiction problem most of his adult life at first I was feeling really good about it because I felt like she was really trying to help him. I explained to her that he has a SUPPORT animal his dog that means everything to him. I tried to explain to her that him being able to have his dog would help him tremendously. He also let them know he would like to have his SERVICE animal I feel like we were filled with false. Hope he’s tried to leave a couple of times but he stayed because he really does want to be successful but it’s such a struggle. He told her that if he was able to have his support animal, he would stay and do the program with 100% of his capability. They refused him. They have him on three different antidepressants. It’s gotten to the point now or when I call, he seems like he’s almost lethargic. He’s continuously yawning in the past when he has tried to detox himself or even gone through this facility. He was getting his energy back within seven or eight days. He’s been in there now 12 days and he has no energy. He does not feel well. I reached out to his counselor. She won’t return my calls why I have no idea. She was sure calling me and asking my opinion and asking my input and now that I have concerns of my own, she doesn’t have time the medication‘s that they have him on increase the heart rate. He has put so much stress on his heart from using his drug of choice that this isn’t a good idea. The nurse practitioner just told me that his heart rate was slightly elevated but yet he’s lethargic. Something is wrong.!!!!!!! I do not recommend this place for anyone!!!!! Last time he was there, they sent him to the ER alone and he had a hard time getting back to the place. I don’t know there’s so many things they need to do to improve this place.
Excellent service and staff Terrisa and kilie were great I can’t say enough about them they really care and helped me through my recovery Ryan was also great definitely recommend
The entire staff at the Sunrise was very exceptional during my stay. They were without exception, caring, knowledgeable, helpful and respectful. I am very fortunate to be able to say that with the care I received and… Gods forgiveness I have been free of cravings, anxiety and depression. I highly recommend this facility to any young, middle aged or senior with an addiction problem to Sunrise. (I was 89 when admitted there.) At 92 I am living a very normal life again. Thank you one and all. Charlene F
I have been there 6 times. Not their fault I'm an alcoholic but I was treated like the amount I could pay. There was one lady that helped. I can't remember her name but she was a tattooed blonde lady that liked Jordans.… Find a different place because this will not help you begin a painful journey
Great place to detox, now a 30 day residential program too.
The experience I had with my daughter was characterized by great support, kindness, and respect.
The staff was great. The care and treatment got me through a really hard addiction to alcohol. I have been sober for more than a year and a half since walking out of the doors of Sunrise Detox Alpharetta. Thank you so… much!
