About Tri County Community Action Agency – North Providence
Tri County Community Action Agency operates from 33 Maple Avenue in North Providence. The site sits in Providence County, which shapes which public funding routes apply. Nearby communities include Central Falls, Cranston and Greenville. Distance matters here, and the nearest option is not always the one that fits.
Outpatient care is delivered here, alongside telehealth appointments. Which level fits depends on the assessment rather than on what is available, so the useful first question is what that assessment involves. Care offered spans more than one level, which means someone can move between them without changing provider.

Treatment Services at Tri County Community Action Agency
Outpatient care runs to a set weekly schedule, with evenings and weekends spent at home. That suits people holding down work or caring responsibilities, though it asks more of someone managing early recovery alone. Ask what the assessment involves before you commit.
Ask what happens at the end of the program as well as the beginning, since that is where plans usually thin out. Assessment decides the level of care, so ask what that involves and how quickly it can happen. Ask what the assessment involves before you commit.

Look for detail on how the first week went, how staff communicated and what support followed treatment.
I live down the street from tritown in Johnston they are very convenient. The staff is wonderful. The doctors are great and helped me find a problem I didn’t know I had. I even started to see a therapist. My daughter… had gone to the dentist and the first dentist was a little smug but he did do his job right. It wasn’t his fault my daughter had cavities. It was the way he said it. But that was just me taking it as an insult. I’m glad he found the cavity and took care of it right away! So basically I have no complaints the staff is amazing the doctors are great! I hope that everyone has a good experience as I did.
I had a very frustrating and concerning experience with Amanda Robbio at this clinic. I came in with throat discomfort and swollen lymph nodes expecting a proper medical evaluation. However, she did not even look down… my throat before giving me a diagnosis, prescribing medication, and referring me to a gastrointestinal specialist. It was alarming to me that such a basic part of an exam was completely skipped. Instead, medication was prescribed without a thorough physical examination or proper assessment of my symptoms. After taking the medication for a week, my condition actually worsened. The swelling and pain in my lymph nodes increased to the point where I had to take ibuprofen just to manage the inflammation. This experience left me feeling that my concerns were not taken seriously and that the care I received was rushed and inadequate. Patients deserve to be properly examined before being diagnosed or prescribed medication. Unfortunately, that was not my experience here.

Call them right now to get your life happy feeling good an focused!!
Very efficient, helpful, and caring.
Johnston facility The dentist careteam sucks. I was all excited that after ten years of waiting to get in for a simple cleaning rutine they did nothing telling me that i needed a clear form from my surgeon that did my… surgery 7 month ago. But they did a filling 3 month after my surgery without no problem but for a simple cleaning they rejected me Instead to make sure to verify that they got on time the clear form that they request Awful work in that office They didn’t care that I had to come in the city bus and waited 30 mins in the waiting area for them to see men for what for do nothing and wanted to reschedule again They need to work better and pay attention to those medical fax form that they request before the patient gets to the office. This was the worse and extremely frustrating experience ever. I will not want to go there ever I will call the state insurance office to report this
I spent a day calling and waiting for someone to answer the phone, finally I said I will give it one more try and after another 15 minutes of waiting again someone actually picked up the phone to say yes I did have an… appointment and it was made 3 months ago, only the appointment was not even what I needed, I had a primary Doctor already, and was told they were not taken new patients. Honestly I can see why when they do not even have staff to answer phones.
The absolute worst. They do not care about you or your child.
Most traumatic experience in my life today. On this day May 12 2025, dad took our daughter to the dentist. They advised him he could sit in the waiting room and he made sure my daughter was ok with that. I was at work… and I was being harassed with a # of calls, finally when I was able to pick up on this busy day of work front desk called looking for a phone # for Jamel. I provided the phone # and proceeded to work. I then get another harassing phone call telling me that Jamel was not in on the office and if someone is not there in 5 min to get her they will be calling child protective services. I then left work in a hurry and risked my life trying to get to my child, where I was met by four patrol cars rescue and fire. I started to panic. Inside the dental office I was met by two North Providence police officers. I was not allowed to go in the waiting room where my child was. Officers proceeded to question me as to where dad may be they asked if he had a history with narcotics and is this a possible drug overdose as they was advised by dental staff dad came in “impaired”. Another officer comes in and one of the officers stated I had stated a possible overdose. I turned to him and advised in a panic that I never said or agreed to that. They advised me DCYF would be involved. After about 5 min the dental staff and two police officers escorted my daughter out to me with out her father. I panicked more officers took my daughter aside and me and two officers followed the location I had on dads phone. Which lead us to the same building and we looked in his vehicle he was not there. I had thought something was devastatingly wrong as the officers made me feel this way. I left to get my son from school calling my parents worrying them having them stop there day at work based on what I was explained to what was advised of the staff in this office. Shortly after I received a call from dad who fell asleep in the waiting room where he was advised to stay while my daughter was seen. Staff would not tell him that I had picked her up right away. Staff reviewed camera footage and had eye witnesses come and say they see dad there the whole visit. Officer also made him do a sobriety test. There was no apology no remorse for all the people effected including my 8 year old daughter. This was the worst interaction I had ever in my life . There was deformation of character discrimination emotional distress and trauma in that one visit. This will be escalated by me and everyone will know what our family experienced!
very terrible customer service!!!!
the simplest things are a spectacle can’t get on the phone, they told me call at 8 i call at 8, the people aren’t where they are supposed to be call back in 5-10 minutes. been on hold ever since this place is beyond… ridiculous everytime.
They only have nurse practioners who do there best, but the nurses in Johnston are the worse people I've ever had to deal with. They actually said to me that I have to have my blood work done if I want to keep getting… my prescriptions. The day I went to do my blood work, my pharmacy contacted them and they refused to send in any refills. The day after a did my blood work, my prescription was filled. I don't usually write any reviews but this is just one instance that I'm telling you all about. Nobody has given this place a good review in 5 years!!
I have been waiting for a refill for 8 days. After ringing Tri town phone for over 12 min. Then finally hung up on me. Calling. Patricia for 6 days. She never returns calls no compassion , will not help you . Will… someone help Patricia return her calls .. she needs it
Horrible drs….who use laptops for diagnosis and tell you your wrong about your symptoms I wouldn’t refer anyone there
The doctors don't care about youCan you get my metformin filled
QUACK-IN-A-BOX doesnt even have an MD on staff, avoid this place at all costs
Very caring staff
Poor communication, they barely answer the phone and it’s almost impossible to see your primary care provider because they have so many patients. If your looking for a primary care provider that will be invested in your… individual health and not just your insurances money this is not the place for you.
Almost 10 years ago, at the age of 56, I experienced a personal tragedy, it was a loss of a child, I raised 4 children, all adults now, and am extremely proud to say I talk to them on at least 2-3 times a weeks. After… about 5 years I was put on SSDI. My first encounter with Tricounty was Great, all the staff, no matter what department, treated me like I was special. I was employed from the age of 16 years old and never collected unemployment or was out of work for more than a few days my entire life. I've witnessed only a few times the abuse the staff has to put up, and I've witnessed that the staff treats everyone the same. The staff did not complain, and I'm not here to judge. It actually runs like a well oiled machine. Everyone knows their job and does it well. Today my life, with much credit to Tricounty has taken such a Great path. I am busy today but had an appointment cancelation, so as I always wanted to write a review, I felt this time would be an opportunity to give this review . I cannot thank them enough. Sometimes there's a little wait, and in my eyes it's never that long, only because they never RUSH clients People should smile more In todays environment, The staff and I'm including all the way to the top are true Professionals and do care about everyone that walks through those doors. Sincerely, Marty Mooradian
My boyfriend called because he ran out of a prescription this weekend and when the answering service lady picked up she was extreamly rude and just being very nasty to him. I don't know what that was all about but it… was uncalled for.
The doctors just dont seem to care about their patients. Its a shame.
frequent change of dr is an issue! at first i was happy that they took new patients who are new in this state but later I found out that they accept new patients because they have NEW Doctors every few months! therefore… I have to re establish contact and start over again with each Dr And the process is slow. so my blood work result were ordered by the previous Dr then the new Dr comes and no one knows where is my result and it’s all lost and delayed. I had to chase for a blood work result for 2 weeks, no process in place to take care of the frequent change of Dr. On top of this when I call nurses and admin they take forever to answer and they do not always return the calls. I just gave up, what is even the point of the good Doctors ? in 5 months 2 doctors left. Drs poor retention strategy and nurses can’t be bothered to stay on top of that frequent change of Drs.
😄😁😘😆😅🤗
