I'm new to the area. I had regular mental health treatment for 6 years in Southern California. I've been here 2 years, just beginning search for treatment. Today was my first visit. I go by first impressions. First, the… location was rather calming, walked in the office clean, nice and quiet and peaceful inside. I'm not very good at remembering names. So I'll just say, everyone I interacted with was friendly, professional and helpful. I really appreciated the questionnaire process. The young lady asking the questions was very good. I was at ease with her, and extremely professional. Next week is my assessment. I feel really good about my decision to call Vitality. I look forward and I am positive about receiveing my long term care with them. I highly recommend to anyone who seeks mental health care and services to reach out to them.
Nobody ever helped. Nobody came to the front at all.
Walked two miles in the snow storm to have the intake whatever laughed at my issues. There's a bridge going over the interstate right outside that jokes office. Maybe think twice about that bridge or anywhere else but… getting help from those heartless people. I hope they are shut down before they hurt someone. If they continue they will cause someone to hurt themselves!!! I hope everyone understands this message. Update they wanted to meet to go over this issue a week later. Yesterday they showed up with the same nasty individual that was involved in my initial intake. I specifically told them she needed to not be involved in my health treatment as she was the main problem. Then nasty Mel tries to tell me it's not the same woman?? Really on scene it was stated it was but they had another individual with them as well??? It's still the nasty intake lady. You deserve what you're gonna have happen. I hope you lose the ability to hurt instead of help you're a horrible place. And need to be shut down before you cause harm to others'mental health. Please Nevada!! Shut this place down. They're drowning people at this location!!!! FACT!!!
(Former outpatient client of 3+years) I debated posting for a while. This is long, but I hope it can help initiate positive change in this broken system. At first, it was great. Great therapist available in-person,… great primary, office staff was kind and helpful, steady peer support, help with applications for assistance and finding work, help finding resources, all providers communicated, they even set me up with someone to look at the meds I was on (they found 100+ interactions)… Then it flopped. HARD. It took calling constantly to get my prescriptions sent when I was told they were being sent as I left the appointment. 2 of the medical referrals from over a year ago have still not been sent, but somehow I have people calling me with an order for an oxygen tank for the sleep apnea I do not have.. Clients and employees are both part of the office gossip. I recommend management install audio recording devices in the waiting rooms. HIPAA does not matter, (I actually found out my friend had died AND HOW they died because of a therapist discussing another client’s conversation) Good luck getting someone to pick up the phone AND be able to help. I called several times in a row (no answer) to let them know the crisis line never called me back the day before. When I finally got someone to answer I was told “no you didn’t I’ve been sitting next to the phone all day and it never rang” and they argued with me until I said I had screenshots of my call log. No positions stay filled longer than 6-9 months, I was barely able to get comfortable with one person before they were gone.. Then my choices (weeks after the set and cancelled appointment) are: (A) talk about my trauma with a man -or- (B) wait a few more months for a female who would probably be telehealth or gone after 4 sessions So I chose the male therapist despite being uncomfortable and got 3 maybe 4 appointments before he was gone as well. There was about 5-6 months where all I had was peer support appointments. Then that person left too… I was never informed when any of the therapists, peer support, or even the primary medical doctors I had appointments with left, so I went all the way to town for no reason on more than one occasion. I had to wait for a new one to be hired to make that same appointment several more weeks out and start waiting all over again… I finally get in with her to find out she’s not a good match and has no sense of confidentiality, but I stuck with it anyway knowing how long I’d have to wait to get an appointment for another new one. When I last called (angry and fed up) I said I wanted my appointments cancelled and records sent to my new primary for a new referral. I found out THAT therapist had also left. Yet again, nobody told me (until I cancelled that appointment that I, again, would have gotten a ride into town for) On top of all of my bad experiences, they recommended my husband start therapy as well. It seemed like a good idea, but they didn’t inform my husband that his insurance was not covering everything like they told us it would until SEVERAL MONTHS in.. It didn’t cover anything at all. You would think they’d have said something or sent a bill about an outstanding balance after the first few appointments instead of letting it accumulate to THOUSANDS of dollars that we can’t afford to pay back. We only found out because the receptionist said she couldn’t schedule another appointment without a payment.. Seriously?! I hope Vitality can fix things and do better for future clients. Elko needs better. As for me, my faith in the system is completely non existent now.
This place is a joke. Multiple times the staff had made appointments just to be sick, or go on leave like we don't matter. Every time I call the front desk I have a better chance calling a 10 year old phone number and… having someone pickup, 99% of the time it just goes to a voicemail where I leave a voicemail and never get a response back. I've been expected to walk 6+ miles to get to my appointments or they would start shutting down services, which happened. This place played my mind so slowly, lied about every little thing, staff were considerably rude behind my back, and nothing ever got done. I could do a 1000× better running this place blindfolded. Contact me and I'll show you.
I would never recommend this place to anyone seeking to do better in there mental health journey. 1. Tess on the medical side is unprofessional, judgemental and very rude. I was told to be there at 2:40 which is the… time I got there and then decides that her and Heather are going to discharge me from services because Tess claimed she said by 2:40 which is not the case. 2. Heather the director of the program should not be in that position due to her unprofessionalism and non organization. She has her favorites and it doesn't matter what they do she will side with them and not listen to the consumer which is what they claim they care about. 3. There was a time when I showed up and an employee was screaming at another employee in front of patients. 4. The front office girls and other employees talk badly about patients as I have heard it first hand.
This place is a joke. I suggest you find professional help not in Elko. I sought treatment through their facility, in which a psychiatrist and I became argumentative because I wanted to call the mother of my children… for support through the session. After a plethora calling me names she retaliated by placing me on a mental hold, because I asked a nurse for help. 3000$ for a hospital bill, 2000$ for an ambulance ride, and a 1000$ for treatment. They encouraged me to continue participating in treatment with other counselors and therapists under the support of a grant given by Newmont. Which was not supported. And I ended up with more misdirection and debt. Amber from the front desk is only woman who has ever given an effort to help me at all. Edit: since i can’t reply, I’m not sure if I’m supposed to appreciate that copy and pasted reply? But I clearly stated how extremely traumatizing of an experience that was. Even with Medicaid I still find myself hesitant to look for help, and definitely won’t rely on you guys again. The way I was treated on the phone just the other week attempting to gain a better understanding of the sliding scale fees to rid my self of the said debt, was horrible!! This career depends on patience and actual empathy which no one there has.
This place is a joke, I have never beenso slow played in my life. I was fresh out of a substance abuse/mental health facility in Florida. Came back to Elko in hopes of furthering/continuing therapy only to wait a month… for there joke of assessment and intake process. Was recently diagnosed bi polar and was placed on temporary disability this program is a joke and only see the money side of the program thathay don't care about anyone issues or or problems
This place is extremely unorganized and there seems to be a lack of good staff. I would not recommend. I was suppose to meet with there Nurse practitioner which I drove 3 hours to see to find out he had quit the day… before.
I'm glad to be of service for Elko! Taking new clients for Primary and Mental health care. We coordinate with counseling needs and other services.
