In Nevada, the Division of Public and Behavioral Health certifies treatment programs through Behavioral Health Certifications for Excellence in Nevada. A treatment facility also needs a license from the Health Care Purchasing and Compliance Division of the Nevada Health Authority. Either agency can tell you a program’s status.

Nevada has required halfway houses for people in recovery to hold Division certification. A 2023 bill proposed changes to those rules, and the final result is unclear. Before you move into a women’s sober living home, ask the house what certification it holds. No national recovery residence affiliate is listed for Nevada.
