Rural Nevada Counseling – Fernley Reviews
Patients and loved ones with experience of Rural Nevada Counseling are invited to leave a review here. Say what the program was like day to day, how staff treated you and how leaving treatment was planned.
Being new to the area, I was referred to Rural to continue my mental health treatment I had been receiving before I moved. Before I even scheduled my first appointment, I asked if they prescribed the medications I have… been on so I could minimize my lapse in treatment. I was told they did. I jumped through all the hoops and went to appointments, in which I was reassured that they prescribed my medications for ADHD, anxiety, and depression. However, after weeks of waiting I asked when my prescriptions would be filled as I was out, and I was then told they actually did NOT prescribe my medications. It's hard enough reaching out for help with mental health, and now I'm out of medication, and I have to find somewhere else to start all over again as a new patient. Don't go here unless you want to have your time wasted being given the runaround, and ZERO help with your mental health.
Do not recommend to anyone seeking any type of mental health services for any age group, let alone any drug court or probation/parole testing services. I've watched people from all backgrounds seek services and be… disregarded due to negligence and inadequate staffing. Blatant disregard for hippa polices and confidentiality. Management makes snide remarks in regard to client living situations--not acceptable. Judging people who are seeking help big or small is completely unprofessional. Addressing clients from the LGBTQ+ Community by assumed pronouns lacks acceptance. Treating clients in recovery like they are criminals builds distrust. The staff that stand up and advocate for clients are reprimanded/terminated for bringing any probable complaints to light.
Do not waste your time trying to get mental health services this place is useless. I called in October because I needed an adjustment to my meds. It’s now December and all they’ve done is tell me I’m an alcoholic even… though I drink MAYBE once a week if any. They also refused to allow me to see a psychiatrist for meds unless I did the 12 step program. No one should be treated like this when they are trying to get help.
