Wellspan Philhaven – Gettysburg is listed as running intensive outpatient and outpatient care. Structured outpatient runs to a schedule while people return home in the evening. A proper assessment sets the level rather than leaving it to guesswork, and it is worth asking for one explicitly.

Wellspan Philhaven – Gettysburg Address, Location and Contact Information

Records give the address as 40 V Twin Drive, Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, 17325. Gettysburg sits in Adams County. Provision extends to the wider area, so check the journey before you set off. Public transport, parking and the length of the journey all affect whether someone completes a course of treatment, and they are worth settling before the first appointment rather than after.

A quick call before you go will settle directions, parking and what to expect first time. If getting there is hard, ask about a remote first appointment. Reception hours vary, so a call that goes unanswered once is worth repeating rather than treating as a dead end.

Yeah. They don’t care.

Generally they are an okay office but they can be cold and informal with patients. It’s hard to get in touch with someone if you do have any issues and some of the staff can be cold and uncaring. Unfortunately they are… the only office in the area

I appreciated my therapist and therapy itself though I knew at some point I would likely need to inquire something more However my issue lies with communication from the office itself. I know medical offices are no… longer about care for the most part though not everywhere. It's a mixed bag here for me actually. When it came to my counselor needing to leave I understood and still understand truly largely especially also thankfully due to my own health issues I experience. The office staff likely taxed themselves I would imagine although my issue is with just being discharged of any services here through my portal. I only found out about the discharge after searching my portal for an entirely different reason. This is an extremely poor practice for a medical building especially.

I have a family member and a couple of friends who come here and never had anything bad to say about them. They treat my family member with the upmost respect and dignity. If there is a concern or question, they have no… problem talking to me.

I have 2 sons that go to Dr manzoor ages 10 and 12 who doesn't like when I bring my younger children to the appointment and just recieved a call today from his receptionist asking me to bring someone with me to watch… them for the 5 minutes he sees us. I'm a single mom and they are supposed to be a child psychiatrist but they don't have patience for kids to be there.

I have had the same psychiatrist for (10+ years) at this facility behind Harley Davidson in Gettysburg, and he has been there for me every step of my diagnosis since it's inception. I have never been more confident in… his resolve to help me achieve as normal of a life as I can with what knowledge he has and what I can provide. He is a doctor that you can tell became a doctor because he has a talent and is by no means in it for the money or prestige like some stereotypes. I consider him a friend as well as a confidant that I can trust has the best intentions for me, my mental health and my relationships. I have had trouble finding the right fit for a therapist at this facility and others until recently, but I would recommend to not be discouraged because many have different approaches that they take with patients, but I feel that I might have just recently found a right fit for me after many attempts in different places. The staff has been so professional that I can't think of a specific time when it was mishandled. Anywho, I recommend it but if it is not right for you, please don't get discouraged to reach out or ask for recommendation all over the place. For instance, if there are no therapists available in your county for a year, I was able to video chat with therapists from another county that had almost immediate openings with just a few calls. Best of luck

I've been discharged as a patient for missing appointments or rescheduling Nevermind the need for the highest dose of effector that Dr shah prescribed me Gotta wait 6 months to maybe be seen again I won't be going back… in 6 months to that joke of a doctor. And if you are pro medical Marijuana don't even think of bringing it up to Shah. He will insult you and tell you "you're a mother you don't need that stuff. It will make you a bad mom." Many of my friends and relatives have also had negative experiences with this office. Johar Shah's appointments go as follows How are you doing? Okay How are the medications working? Okay How about we increase you again 25mg and check back in 3 months Okay *maxed out on effexor at 24 years old*

These people do not care about their patients or their mental health. Find another place for your mental health needs if you can.

Very rude people. They won't give you any information. I simply asked for paperwork and they said they wouldn't talk to me until my stepson's mother called them. I said that's fine, I can get her to call, can they send… the paperwork. She simply said have the mother call. I said I will, can you please send paperwork. Rather than answer me, the rude person just kept saying have the mother call, have the mother call. She refused to answer any questions. No wonder they have such a poor rating here!

My son comes here for counseling. He has been through a lot in his life so far and he benefits highly coming to counseling and it has made a huge difference at home. Recently I was making his next couple appointments… and they told me the next available was on April 27th. So as of now my son is missing 2 months of counseling. This place is very inconsistent and I would not recommend bringing your child here. I’m currently looking for services somewhere else.

I have tried twice to make appointments here , once about a year ago and once just recently. Both times I have been told there is a 4-6 month waiting list. I'm sorry, but don't promote your services on your voice… recording, patient portal, or offer them to other primary care practitioners as a referral source when clearly you cannot handle the "need in the community". You are then in fact NOT supporting the communities "mental health needs"!! Who would ever defer a patient seeking treatment to wait 6 months? It is a disservice to the mental health community and the already surrounding stigma of seeking help. How many people have you turned away who then NEVER GOT THE HELP THEY NEEDED!?!?!? As all Wellspan patient family including PCPs, obstetrics & gynecology, pediatrician etc, I am probably going to seek a system elsewhere who can in fact handle all of the needs of my family, especially if they were to market as such!!!

I must admit I'm a little shocked by all the negative reviews. I just got off the phone with someone from admin who picked up immediately after the automated "our numbers have recently changed" business. Very pleasant… to talk to, more than willing to send my refill request back to the psych Dr. She asked if I was completely out of meds. I said yes and she gently reminded me that that I should call 3 days ahead of time so they can process this and make sure I don't have any withdrawal symptoms. ===== Should I expedite? I said no, no big deal; I'm sure they have others they need to worry about; it's just an ADHD med and I won't die without it. Should I send through mail order or the pharmacy at Giant? Well could I get it 3 month supply if I chose mail order like I get with my other meds? I can look into it and ask Nicole, but it's a controlled substance so probably won't go through mail order as 3 month supply, just one month. Good point, forgot about that. Ok, just send it to Giant. Ok, the pharmacy robot will contact you when rx is ready for you. Is there anything else I can do for you? Nope, that's it. Thanks a lot for your time, and have a good day. Well, thank you too and have a good day yourself! ===== I've had been officially diagnosed with adult ADHD by a neuro-psychiatrist in 2008. I chose a non-Wellspan psych to talk about getting meds (as suggested) and it was like pulling teeth for him to give me some; didn't seem to believe in adult ADHD. When I moved down to Adams County from Mechanicsburg I chose a PCP in the Wellspan network and mentioned the ADHD. He sent me to see Nichole at Philhaven. She's been great. I talked about the ADHD situation and she agreed saying it was blatantly obvious by merely observing me; she wasn't even going to have me retested. She immediately recommended a beginning dosage of ADHD med saying I should let her know if it was working or not. I left her office, stopped by the checkout desk, spoke with nice admin, got a date for the next appointment, boom. Done. The rest of my interactions with them have been nothing unusual; no drama admin would check me in, pleasant nurse would take me back and take my vitals, I'd get sent back to wait in waiting room, after reading a short magazine article taken back for visit. No big deal. I've actually been a pleasantly surprised with all the health care providers in the Wellspan network. I had been hesitant of negative comments I've heard in the past, but I have absolutely nothing but positive things to say about them. Seriously, I've been surprised. I get call backs, reminders, "hand-holding" through multiple surgeries with different practices, even out-of-network brain surgery conducted up at (PennState Hershey). I'm not calling BS on the other reviewers (I feel terrible for them) but there might be an overwhelming skew to the negative here with a lack of normal/positive reviews. So keep that in mind when you make your health care decisions. I wouldn't avoid Wellspan Philhaven because of these negative reviews; check it out yourself. If you have a good experience let people know and give it a positive review here. But if you do have a bad health experience by all means let people know about it. Thanks for reading.

Would rate a zero. They kept me on medicine that caused tardive dyskenisia, did not tell me what was wrong with me for months, probably to avoid a lawsuit, to where i also developed akathisia for months on top of… things. Total torture and any internet search says that if someone shows signs of akathisia that all medications need to be stopped, yet things were continued. Once i stopped medications things got better but i'm permanently damage by negligence from so called professionals who tell me medications are safe because they know five year olds on higher doses than me. What???

All of the interactions I have had with Staff and Doctors from Philhaven have been well delivered and pleasant. Treatment I have received from the professionals here have had positive results and the people whom I have… worked with here always show genuine concern for my well being . I only give 4 stars , because everyone everywhere always has room for improvement.

Only rating one star because I am unable to rate a zero stars. The worst children's behavioral health doctor. Always running late, however if you show up more than 3 minutes late they will make you reschedule. Wellspan… across the board if a terrible health care system. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

I have been seeing Kim Griffin for about 8 years at Wellspan Behavioral Health in Gettysburg. She is the most caring, trustworthy psychiatric practitioner I have ever met (and I have seen quite a few!). Even when I… lived in Baltimore, I would still drive to see Kim. I currently live in Maryland and STILL drive to see Kim! She truly listens to my thoughts and takes them seriously; if I suggest we try something else, we do! The staff is also very responsive to messages sent through their Patient Portal. My only negatives would be that the waits are long. I usually see Kim about a half hour past my appointment time; this doesn't bother me as I need to take a full day off to see Kim (seriously, I will keep seeing her until she tells me to go elsewhere or decided to stop practicing!) Sometimes, it takes a while to get through to a Nurse, but I expect that due to high call volumes. In total, while I can't speak for the other practitioners, I highly recommend Kim Griffin as a mental health practitioner.

I have been seeing Wellspan BH doctors since 2000, with the exception of once. I have never had a terrible experience, there have been a few bad or oops experiences. I don't take anything out on my doctors, they don't… always know what is going on up front. I did once have to wait on a prescription, but I kept calling every day and leaving messages. (Again no fault of my doctors) until the office staff took my needs to another doctor for approval. I do agree with the negativity from the up front staff members. Although there are a few I absolutely adore. The phone thing drives me up a wall. They claim to try to reach you, but picking up a phone on their end is nearly impossible. They could at least pick up and ask you to hold, acknowledging your call. I got a letter recently telling me they have been trying to reach me; hello are you dialing the right number?? I can see they haven't been trying. I've been trying to call back and haven't talked to anyone. Again not the fault of my doctors.
