Polaris Detox LLC – Abbottstown Detox and Rehab Services
Polaris Detox LLC – Abbottstown appears on the register for detox and residential treatment. Withdrawal is managed under clinical observation before other treatment begins, which matters most in the first seventy-two hours for alcohol and benzodiazepines. A proper assessment sets the level rather than leaving it to guesswork, and it is worth asking for one explicitly.
The record does not show integrated provision, so confirm this if it matters. Medication and talking treatment run together under clinical oversight. The weekly time commitment varies considerably between providers, so establish it early rather than after admission.

Polaris Detox LLC – Abbottstown Reviews and Ratings
Services, insurance and licensing for Polaris Detox LLC are set out elsewhere on this page. Reviews cover the part no register records: how patients and their families found the care in Abbottstown.
Several accounts that describe the same thing tell you more than a single strong opinion.
The only reason I am giving 2 stars is because some of the staff was really caring. Let me just start by saying, the call center (these people aren't even local) are really good sales men. They made this place actually… seem like a welcoming "therapeutic environment". The person doing my intake was like this too. I would not say that I was even pleased with the food they brag about. Within my first day I knew this wasn't for me (you only meet 1 on 1 with a therapist once a week, otherwise all you get is support groups which doesn't help you work through your specific situation) they also said a lot of things, but never followed through. By the my 3rd day I decided to "AMA". As soon as the staff heard about that they became extremely rude. I was there completely voluntary looking to work through a few things and they made it so difficult to leave. In fact during orientation they straight up say if you leave before your 2-4 weeks are up we walk you to the end of the property and leave you there and won't even help you make any phone calls or charge your dead phone. That is completely uncalled for. Other comments by the staff included things like "we will keep you here as long as your insurance will cover you." There were at least 5 of us that did AMA the same day including me. They were tired of being told "on this *date* we will follow up on a potential discharge date. Not allowing voluntary patients to have any say in their care. So yes, all these negative comments are accurate, even some of the staff quietly told me that they would never send their own family members here. Be aware that the intake process they are also doing everything they can to "sell" this place. Nothing I did here was beneficial to my mental health. And one last thing is I signed paperwork allowing two people to check on me, little did i know that one of the two was calling to check on me the whole time but they were turned away from any updates or contact with me because they decided for me what my best interest is, not following through with telling them they would get regular updates. And they never were honest when I asked if they had called about me either. Meanwhile they were my primary on my paperwork. Additionally they were emailing my other person all kinds of lies to make them feel like this was some amazing place and i was making "so much progress" Be warned.
Absolutely atrocious experience, I left in worse condition than I arrived. I’ve been to plenty of facilities and have never had such a terrible time. I recommend going anywhere else in the state. Extremely dishonest… cash grab.
WOW!! The staff the Nursing the Therapist are all amazing. They changed my life. I went in lost confused on mental health and drug use and came out a totally different person. The Rcs staff KAREN and Charlen go over the… top to make your stay comfortable. The Nursing Staff Mitch hands down one of the best men you will ever met. I have never been to a rehab/mental health facility before didnt no what to expect and they made my stay unbelievable. The cleanliness is top notch the beds are comfortable the cleaning staff goes above and behind. Courtney was my therapist and she does good she was a great fit for me. They have 5 therapist so anything you go in there with they definitely have a match for you. Overall a great place I would recommend to anyone!!!! I am a few months out of there and never once have I thought of using my D.O.C one time and I give a lot of my sober life to INNOVO!!! KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK IN THERE AND HELPING PEOPLE CHANGE THERE LIFE. BY THE WAY I FORGOT ONE IMPORTANT PERSON THAT HELPED TREMENDOUSLY WITH MY STAY MISS. LIZ IN MEDICAL DEPARTMENT SHE WAS THE NICEST KINDEST LADY AND MADE MY STAY SO MUCH BETTER AND HAS THE BEST NURSING CLASSES OF ALL
If you’re having problems getting off alcohol, drugs whatever it may be. Trust me these people don’t bullshit you when they tell you we got you. They actually mean it. I was there for Alcohol not one time was I… uncomfortable I was actually 100% comfortable. Words can’t describe the care you receive. You’re not treated like your an inconvenience. Your called by your name it actually becomes a friendship. You will definitely know they care about you. So do you want someone who ACTUALLY cares about you and it’s not just one person it everybody in the whole innova group. Or you can go to that place to that all you are is just another body and you get the feeling you don’t want to be there no more than they do. So save all the bullshit and drama. Just make your choice innova because I can guarantee the way you walked in the treatment center.. you are going to walk out with your head held high. And definitely be walking out a total different person than you were walking in. Just give a shot and you can thank them later when your times comes to leave and realize exactly how many people actually care for you..
My experience here was lovely 🤩 they helped me get through some things especially after losing my brother to gun violence April 19 They was there to help me get through it even though it's still fresh and I've also… learned how to love my self and self care I've learned boundaries I've learned how to say no when I supposed to and I know when to say yes. The coping mechanism I've learned I will take into consideration. I LOVE y'all and will miss y'all see y'all in 6 months alumni status I'll be sharing my strengths and hopes as well 💕😘
I am truly traumatized from my experience here. I called them and spoke with a person named Ethan. We spoke three different times and three different times I confirmed that they would allow me to only come for detox. My… best friend was on a three-way call when he confirmed that they allow you to just come JUST for detox. When I tried to leave on day 7, after my detox, they basically held me captive and said I could not leave because it would be an AMA situation and they would not give me my belongings or my phone and they would make me walk out the front door and be stranded on a highway in a town that I knew no one. No phone numbers to call anyone to come get me. They terrorized me for about 8 hours in total and they told me I was a liar and that I signed up for 30 days. I’ve already hired an attorney and he took my case without having to give a retainer because he knows we will win. If you have been here and would like to join this lawsuit, reply here. They are doing nothing but insurance fraud. They say their calls are recorded so they’re either going to face a huge fine from the FCC if they can’t produce the recorded phone call where I said I was only coming for 7 days, or they’re going to be found guilty of insurance fraud when they listen to the recorded call and read the false admittance notes which state that I called, asking to come for detox AND residential. A nurse that works there came into my room and held me by the shoulders and said “you need to walk out the front door right now, turn left and go to Sheetz and call the police because they do not let people leave after 7 days.” She works there and she looked at me in the eyes and said “I’m so sorry, but this is what they do here and I’m tired of seeing people go through this, who are already troubled.” This place is horrific. The staff here are literal demons. Especially Lauren. She smiled while she terrorized me. It’s actually scary that human beings like this exist and not only exist but they run a place that you’re supposed to go to, to get help. DO NOT GO THERE. I’m about to request a drug test from my doctor and request a copy of all the drugs they said they gave me because there is no way it will match up. They claim they didn’t give me anything other than Ativan and it’s been three days since I slept for 4 days straight and refused a single drug and I still feel foggy. I have the names of four people who conspired all together to pull insurance fraud on me. They are going to regret what they did. Lauren literally looked at me in the face and said “good luck getting any help from me” with a smile: I really hope she’s not someone’s mother. I could never even sleep at night if I treated people the way they treat people who are already troubled. The lady who walked me out with my bags to the end of the parking lot, got so much joy from telling me over and over again that I can’t have my phone until I’m off the property. She probably said it to me 10 times with a smile. They are sadistic here. This place is dangerous. Don’t even chance it. Go to the hospital if you need a detox.
*Long review but context is needed/condensed for googles review limits* 0/5⭐ I was admitted to Innovo strictly for voluntary mental health treatment, NOT substance abuse. I only stayed five days—arriving Fri evening,… and leaving Wed. While I actively tried to engage—attending groups, completing homework, journaling, and taking medication—the facility created a toxic, controlling, and unsettling environment. The level of control was shocking. During intake, patients endure invasive strip searches (even squatting/coughing). I was placed on a strict 7-day "blackout period" with zero communication. My phone and items were taken before signing paperwork designating emergency contacts—my sister didn't even know she was listed until today. Even the welcome packet reflects this imbalance: page one is all addiction, page two is the 12-step program, and mental health is barely elaborated on. After the blackout, you get one monitored 10-minute call per week. Calls are withheld as punishment, even if you miss group due to heavy side effects from medications they prescribed and administered. Group care was equally concerning. Counselor B (a recovering addict) consistently equated pure mental health struggles to addiction, reframing everything through that lens. Meanwhile, technicians act like glorified babysitters, carrying tablets logging your location to the minute, conducting mandatory 30-minute room checks, and staring at you. Staff communication was non-existent. During a panic attack, nursing told me, "Oh, you're just detoxing," because nobody informed them I was there solely for mental health. By Sun, I realized this wasn't the right place and they simply weren't allowing me to leave. When I said I wanted to leave, Technician K gave me attitude and snapped, "No, no, you are not going to AMA." I replied, "Oh, but I am," and she snapped back, "Well, you can't do it tonight because none of the counselors and staff are here... and we don't process that stuff." I said, "I'm fully aware... which is why I'm doing it in the morning." Later Sun, Counselor B brought me into his office to call my husband and sister, but sat there interrupting and angering my sister, keeping me from speaking freely. Knowing they wouldn't process my discharge, I walked out through an unalarmed door to a gas station. Counselor B lied to my husband claiming techs were driving around searching for me. After I agreed to return, Tech M told my husband they would "make it happen" for us to talk, yet staff never told me. That evening, I asked a tech to tell my husband I loved him and was sorry—a message staff never delivered. By Mon, my husband emailed Counselor C asking why I hadn't called. She claimed I was in a blackout until Wed. He insisted, and on Tue at 10 AM called panicked and angry. Counselor C pulled me from lunch at 11:45 AM, and I officially requested to AMA at noon Tue. Delay tactics escalated. On Wed morning, a tech admitted they had no idea I was leaving AMA. During group, Counselor C let patients actively challenge me for leaving. Between 1:30–2:30 PM, Counselor C physically blocked my doorway, trying to manipulate me into staying by insinuating my husband was dangerous because he was unmedicated (he was just furious at their deceit). On Tue at 2 PM, a nurse asked if my sister was an emergency contact and asked her name to "verify," claiming she called. Staff hid the truth: Aunt M was actually calling repeatedly demanding answers on why my release was delayed. They disguised it as my sister because they forgot her name. I only found out on the bus ride home. They dragged my release out for 27 hours. When I confronted Counselor B about lying to my husband, he gaslit me, then completely stopped talking to me and snubbed me. Non-medical staff stopped assisting me. Counselor C admitted to my husband she was deliberately "not going to speed the process up." I was discharged at 3:30 PM Wed. Upon leaving, they failed to return my pencil sharpener, lighter, and 1 RX I had come in with. Innovo prioritizes total control over patient safety and autonomy.
Great staff, great medical team I couldn't have been more happy with the care and treatment I recieved while there. Gave me and opportunity to start the proper journey of sobriety.
Friendly staff. Clean. Highly recommend for those in need.
Unfortunately Innovo wasn’t my first facility. Fortunately Innovo offered the best possible care for my Alcoholism. Great staff (clinical, nursing and Kitchen). I feel I’m on the right track now and I’m looking forward… to a bright future in recovery. I wish I would have found Innovo first.
Wonderful people, but an incredibly understaffed facility. I got what I needed there and I'm glad I went. But the talented staff does not have the bandwidth to meet everyone's needs. The food is quite good but the other… amenities are *bare bones*. And the admissions specialist will LIE TO YOU on the phone. Every patient reports the same. The facility is a simple building with a plain, tiny back yard. Don't believe anything about gorgeous views, a pool, a state-of-the-art gym - anything that sounds like the admissions officer is selling you a resort. The facility is fine. Just fine. Adequate. Suitable. Simple.
Great place. Great people. Couldn't ask for a better environment to go through the toughest of times.
After making the decision to enter a detox facility, I decided Innovo was the best fit for me. Never having been to Treatment before, I didn’t know what to expect. My stay here was absolutely awesome! The staff were… friendly, and understanding. The nursing staff were always available, fun and friendly. The food was great, and the beds were more comfortable than my own at home! I felt like I was heard and taken care of for my entire stay here! Also met some really great patients and formed lifelong friendships! Thanks guys!
I enjoyed my stay very much. I learned a lot , if you are struggling with anything this is the place to go.
The facility is nice, good rooms. The food is very good as well.
So grateful for the treatment and care I got here. Will never be able to thank all the staff or the community members enough. Such a great experience. Thank you all
I was at Innovo for 30 days and would definitely recommend it if you're ready to get help. Although there might be days when staff is short and stretched thin, they always made themselves available and never once made… me feel as if they didn't care. This goes for all staff, the counselors, even Justin and Jordan (the kitchen masters). I'm so glad I ended up there when I did. Thank you!
I came here mainly because I was struggling with depression and anxiety and wanted help before things got worse. I had mentioned occasional weekend drinking and some party drug use in therapy, but I did not need detox… and quickly realized this was not the right environment for me. The rules felt extremely strict and controlling, and as an adult who voluntarily sought help, I often felt dehumanized rather than supported. I understand this structure may help people with severe substance abuse struggles, but for someone seeking primarily mental health support, it did not feel appropriate. What upset me most was how difficult they made it to leave once I decided I was uncomfortable there. I also felt frustrated seeing multiple substance dependency diagnoses submitted to my insurance that did not reflect how I viewed my situation. They even contacted my mother during my attempt to leave, which felt inappropriate considering I am an independent adult and parent myself. When I chose to leave, the experience felt cold and judgmental instead of supportive. I left feeling more traumatized and anxious than when I arrived. I’m now transitioning to a PHP program that feels like a much better fit for my mental health needs. I am also still waiting for my medical records and office visit notes so I can submit them myself for my FMLA/STD claim, since the information apparently was not submitted correctly the first time. Hopefully someone sends them soon because the delay is now affecting my leave approval and pay. I do want to mention that most of the staff members themselves were kind, and I understand they are doing their jobs and following the rules and policies of the facility. My frustration is more with the overall environment and approach rather than the individual staff members. I truly hope this place helps others, but based on my experience, I would encourage people primarily seeking mental health treatment to carefully consider whether this environment is right for them.

Don't waste your time here. They are always understaffed. The place is really small. There are no activities or anything exciting or fun to do at innovo. U spend your time either in your room or 2 community rooms. They… dont take you to any outside groups or meetings. The outdoor area you can access is pretty much a glorified smoking section. I highly recommend britelife recovery in hanover, pa. It is 13 minutes from innovo. They have everything you could ever want in a treatment center and the staff is so much better. Do your own comparison of the two. I've been to both and would never go back to innovo. I will say the medical staff at innovo was great. However there is no doctor on site. Everything is done through zoom if you wanna have an appointment with a doctor.
I recently conducted business at your facility. I would like to personally thank Kelly Taylor for treating my organization with professionalism and courtesy. Kenneth Campbell Blueprints for Addiction Recovery Lancaster,… PA
I arrived at Innovo after years of struggle — exhausted, broken, and without direction. It was my first time in a residential treatment center, and my only frame of reference was what I’d seen in movies and television.… I had no idea what to expect. What I found was something I hadn’t anticipated: genuine care at every level. From the kitchen staff to nursing, the RSS team to clinical — everyone I encountered brought exceptional dedication to their work. My first days were spent counting the hours until I could leave. By the end, I was surrounded by people who felt like family. Somewhere in between, I came to understand that what was happening inside those walls was saving my life. Every breath I take today is a testament to the love and support I received there. I owe particular gratitude to Erica for guiding me toward the right path in aftercare; to Vikki for truly hearing my story; to Jen, Liz, Dave, Mitch, and Wendy for keeping me on schedule and managing to make me laugh while doing it; to Scott, Brian, and Marlene for the groups they led; to Charlene, Shawn, Lex, Kenny, Sadie, and Tyler for the warmth and light they brought every day; to Holly and Mel for getting me started each morning; and to Mike, Steve, and Chris for keeping my spirits steady and helping me find the right language to understand myself. To anyone whose name I couldn’t fit into this review — you know who you are, and you know what you gave me. If you’re struggling and don’t know where to begin, call this team. Listen to what they tell you. You’ll find a new way to live.
Had a great stay at innovo and it really helped changed the way I looked at life and myself. Grateful for the help I received thanks guys 🫶🏼
I called Innovo’s hotline and we agreed at that time that I would be admitted for 7 or 10 days. Three days later, I inquired when my discharge date will be according to what I had agreed to. In reply I was told that… when I arrived at the facility, I changed my original agreement to 30 days and never was told at that time this didn’t include the 7 days I was already there. I was shocked to learn this because I didn’t remember changing the original agreement. Innovo knew I needed to return to work a lot sooner than that. So I explained to staff that I couldn’t stay later than the day I needed to return to work. In answer I was told that they will see if something could be worked out to accommodate me. After waiting 9 days, which by then I was there 14 days, staff told me that Innovo didn’t recommend that I should leave by the time I needed to return to work. So if I left against medical advice, I wouldn’t be given the documents to forward to my employer so I could be allowed to return to work. I was forced to choose to leave against medical advice. While my stay at Innovo, I needed to pay bills electronically via my phone. I was assisted with this a day after when I needed to pay my bills and incurred late fees due to this. When I decided that I had leave, staff wouldn’t allow me to leave through the front door, the way I came in. Instead staff recommended that if I wanted to leave that I do so through a fire exit door and was reminded that this will set fire alarm off. In reply, I said to staff I was being held against my will by not being allowed to leave the way I came, because leaving through the fire exit is illegal when no fire emergency is at stake. After 15 minutes I was allowed to leave the way I came in without my phone and other personal items. I asked for my phone so I could call my wife so she could pick me up(I was 30 minutes away from home). Staff told me that they will call my wife to let her know that I had left. Thankfully a stranger I met a block away from Innovo let me use their phone so could call my wife. Innovo never called my wife basically leaving me stranded in the middle of nowhere. If you asked me, Innovo cares for their clients until they feel like it and as long as the client’s insurance paid Innovo. For me that averaged $4,300 per day. Something is seriously not right with how how clients are being handled. Believe me, this is taking place on a consistent basis with many other clients and it is sad it’s this way. Many clients come from as far as California. What would it be like if they were left stranded like I was?
