About William J McCord – Orangeburg

William J McCord is located at 910 Cook Road in Orangeburg, within a few minutes of Brookdale and Wilkinson Heights. The practical catchment runs to roughly 9 miles, covering Wilkinson Heights, Orangeburg, Edisto and Cameron. Orangeburg is in Orangeburg County, which shapes which public funding routes apply.

Care offered spans detox and residential treatment. Licensing sits with the South Carolina Department of Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse Services, alongside federal SAMHSA registration. Medication-assisted treatment is part of the offer, the approach with the strongest evidence for opioid dependence. Both conditions are worked on in parallel, which is what the evidence supports. Sessions can be held remotely where travel is difficult. Veterans are a named group here.

I stuck with this thinking, ok.. This lady is wonderful. Maybe we’ve finally got some where in getting help that my child needs. But then this… No parent should EVER be told IN FRONT of their child that they’ve “created… a monster” (the parent) (the single mom at that doing ALL she can do to keep her son from going down a wrong road or hurting himself again) I’ve always been skeptical about this place but I stayed for the sake of my son. He has some issues going on that needed to be worked out so I stayed only for him. Our final and last visit was what hurt me down to my core and pissed me off at the same time. No parent should EVER be told IN FRONT of their child that they’ve “created a monster”. I pray every other child that is dealing with emotional, mental, physical, whatever issues can make it through that program. I’m going to find another route for mine.

Best place I’ve been to. Nurses are chill. I loved Mr.Glenn and Mrs.Jennifer. They are the most understanding, chillest people i’ve ever interacted with . I made some mistakes while here and they won’t yell at you or… make you feel bad, they were really understanding. Food is amazing! You go outside, are allowed to play xbox (they have provided), watch tv and they have good groups. You also have plenty of time to do school work. People fail to realize other people can only help you so much and you have to help yourself as well. You can’t rely on others to solve all your problems which I feel is why people give bad reviews. I do wish we were allowed to bring more clothing choices but no biggie!
