Rehabs That Take PACE

PACE, the Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly, is a Medicare and Medicaid program for people aged 55 and older who need a nursing home level of care but can live safely in the community. A PACE organization arranges and pays for the services its participants need, and that can include drug and alcohol treatment.Kentucky centers on this page name PACE on their own websites. PACE participants generally receive care through the PACE organization’s own team and contracted providers, so the interdisciplinary team usually has to arrange any treatment. Speak with your PACE team and the facility before admission about referrals, authorization and cost.

Why Trust RehabSeekers.com?

RehabSeekers is an independent behavioral health directory covering drug and alcohol addiction and mental health treatment providers.

Every listing has a source: an official register, a licensing record, or details the facility sent us.

Credentials shown honestly. Accreditation, licensing and registration listed separately.

Reviews shown exactly as written. Never edited, never removed because a facility asked.

No commission, no referral fees. Nothing a facility pays for changes where it appears.

Contact details always go direct. Calls reach the facility itself, never a call centre.

Common questions

Answered from what is listed here.

What is PACE?

PACE, the Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly, is a Medicare and Medicaid program for individuals 55 and older who need a nursing home level of care but can live safely at home. Around 205 local PACE organizations in 33 states and DC both pay for and deliver all care.

Once someone enrolls, PACE becomes the sole source of their Medicare and Medicaid benefits, and an interdisciplinary care team arranges every service they receive.

Medicare Rehabhttps://rehabseekers.com/insurance-accepted/medicare/
Who is eligible for PACE?

Four conditions apply: you must be 55 or older, live in a PACE organization's service area, be certified by your state as needing a nursing home level of care, and be able to live safely in the community with PACE support. The National PACE Association says no financial test applies.

States recertify the nursing-facility level-of-care need each year unless the condition is judged unlikely to improve, and enrollment stays voluntary throughout.

Medicare Rehabhttps://rehabseekers.com/insurance-accepted/medicare/
Does PACE cover rehab?

Yes. PACE must provide every Medicare-covered service, every service in the state's approved Medicaid plan, and anything else the interdisciplinary team judges necessary, so substance use treatment is included even though federal rules never name it separately. The team has to authorize the care first.

Medicare and Medicaid limits on amount, duration and scope do not apply inside PACE, so the plan of care sets what a participant actually receives.

PACE, the Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly, is a Medicare and Medicaid program for adults 55 and older who qualify for nursing home care but still live at home. It is not a company and not a plan sold on an exchange: around 205 local PACE organizations across 33 states and the District of Columbia each act as both the payer and the provider for everyone enrolled with them.

That double role shapes how addiction treatment happens. Enrollment makes the PACE organization the sole source of Medicare and Medicaid benefits, and the participant agrees to receive all health services through its staff and contracted providers. An interdisciplinary team writes the plan of care and authorizes each service, so a detox bed or an outpatient program is arranged through that team rather than booked straight with an admissions line.

Eligibility is narrow: 55 or older, living inside a PACE service area, certified by the state as needing a nursing facility level of care, and able to live safely at home with PACE involved. The guide below covers which levels of care the benefit reaches, how authorization works, what a participant pays, how medication for opioid and alcohol use is handled, and how a treatment program ends up contracted with a PACE organization.
