Fairview Range Medical Center – Hibbing Reviews and Ratings
Families searching for treatment in Hibbing often start with reviews. If you were a patient at Fairview Range Medical Center, or supported one, sharing how it went gives them something real to go on.
While busy and I did have to wait to be seen by urgent care, once they got me back in the back it moved very smoothly and quick. Staff was kind and for what I needed very efficient. I know my problem wasn’t nearly as… traumatizing as some in that waiting room. So I’m sure others feel a little more urgency than my situation warranted. The facility was clean and that is a plus.
Had to bring grand daughter to urgent care at hospital do to the fact she may have some bruising but the doc didn't do his job checking her out or anything. He just said to put an ice pack on. And lied and no discharge… papers. The guy took five minutes. Maybe he should have taken more time on patients ..hibbing hospital sucks.
Brought my daughter there and was in and out within 5 minutes and didn't even check her out. Bad experience at the Urgent Care at 5:30pm today
What has happened to your organization! Horrible experience with trying to receive care, unnecessary procedures, no response from physician! And now I’m stuck with the bills!
I would honestly give them a Four Star Rating even but I've been treated pretty poorly in some ways unfor misunderstanding not being cleared and few times being told things I need to do and that I can but ending up not… being able to. A hard board hurts, be respect either way!
Good
It seems that Minnesota is rampant with fraud and scams, even that something as sacred as a hospital! NoAn Individual from work came here to the emergency room with a torn bicep and rotator cuff, and they did not want… to put him into emergency. Twice they put him in urgent care charging a for that visit and then charging him again for the emergency visit and refused to do an MRI. At the point of writing this it is 8 PM and we have been here for over eight hours! Becky, the head nurse, finally came down after a two hours of waiting just to speak with her. Instead of apologizing in any way for this hospital complete incompetence she chose to pass the blame. I have already filed a complaint with the Department of health in Minnesota and the next step is to file a complaint with the Attorney General’s office. it’s sad to see someone in such a vulnerable state be taken advantage of. Nice job Minnesota!
Nice staff, they all deserve raises for working such long days and being short staffed.
Horrible horrible, so not have a baby here, they were so short staffed they transferred us immediately after birth to Duluth. This is after we had an appointment to give birth. We didn't just show up unannounced...… Nurses were not attentive or caring at all!
I try to never go to the hospital unless it’s something that could be life threatening. The last time I went in it was such a bad experience I was more afraid for my life after I got there. The doctor was actually a… nurse playing the role of your doctor. Left with nothing but a big waste of time and money. I currently have a possible appendicitis and with the urgent/ hospital care I cannot justify going to them. I hope I’m wrong but this is just unacceptable to all of us in the area we should have an option to get help if needed with our medical issues.
All they do is argue with you. I’m trying to explain something to them, and all the people do is argue with you and treat you like crap.
Worst non caring hospital ever
Had to to again, another infusion which I actually didn't need Feb 9th level was .3 when they checked it while I was there in the ER it was 4.9. So all good! Unfortunately, like all ER's, always expect high wait times… at different stages of care, and don't blame the workers, blame the ones at board meetings in luxury suits. Again, very friendly, informative staff, fun and easy to talk to.
Had my baby at Fairview. The nurses were very attentive. Exceptional care.
The ladies at the desk when you check in are so kind. I have an amazing team with the allergy department and I appreciate them so much! Very kind and efficient.
If I could give a zero i would! Took my 8 wk in due to having a bad cough and developing a rash, was told he had a heat rash and it will clear up in a few days. No labs were taken, no chest xray done. After talking to… my son's dad we decided on a second opinion, AND THANK GOD WE DID, BECASUE MY 8WK OLD HAD A REALLY BAD CASE OF PNEUMONIA. he spent a week in the hospital on an iv and oxygen on standby!
My son recently had surgery at Fairview Range Medical Center and the care we received was exceptional. The staff was kind, attentive, and made us feel at ease every step of the way starting with Ms. Barb, Dr. Thomas and… each Nurse (Ashley, Carol, Jamie & Brean) & staff member were professional, compassionate, and truly went above and beyond. We are so grateful for the amazing experience during a stressful time. Highly recommended! Thank you!!!
My mother in law was having 10/10 abdominal pain, waited 2 hours to get in a room and then Four hours later, she was finally acknowledged and given a diagnosis of kidney stones and a UTI. So a total of 6 hours after… arriving B4 she was seen, what if it was appendicitis? What if she was ruptured internally? Kidney failure? She would be dead, bottom line. Horrible staff and the apathy was palatable. If you're in trouble I implore you, drive the farther distance and stay away from this place, but only if you want to live. I could not be more disappointed in a facility. The only reason I am not giving negative stars is that it's not an option.
My doctor is on extended maturity leave, after denying me extended leave with mine, my baby is 2 now and has horrible Mommy dependency issues now. Just awful doctors who use personal bias to decide the lives of others.… I should probably also mention my husband's issues that she said were nothing and we'd check on them a year later, well he had cancer, so maybe don't take the advice of lazy and complacent doctors who don't care about anything but the paycheck. Disgrace as a medical practitioner and as a human being, I pity her new baby, but have solice knowing she will make a poor mother and the child will grow up wanting; not stuff but love. (I will check daily to make sure this review stays up, if it gets taken down I'll continue to repost it and add the amount of times I've had to repost it. 2.8 out of 5? Seems high.)
This place do not go too they take forever to get you in to a room when they have plenty and they need to hurry up cuz other people have a life. Everyone that works there do better
First come, bs. Been over an hour now. Still not seen. Now hours are done for the night. What next.
I intended a home birth for the second time but at 38 weeks ended up seeking out care through the OBGYN department. My experience in the past was so damaged from a prior hospital birth (not at this place) I was very… fearful of having one again. After explaining the situation that brought me back to the hospital I was immediately given an appointment with Dr. Meyer. He was so attentive and patient to answer all of my questions and accommodate my birth plan. I was given a very thorough tour of the labor and delivery unit and able to meet the nurses. They are all so fantastic! The really make you feel seen and heard and respected. We had a few false alarms before active labor started but each time I felt safe and reassured. It worked out that the day I delivered the on call dr was filling in, Dr Lyerly. This was the best thing I didn't know I needed! She was absolutely amazing. She followed my birth plan to a T, there was so much respect, and informed consent and patience to me the birth I envisioned. If I have the option to have her present for delivery again I would immediately in a heartbeat. I also wanted to mention that l&d nurse Taylor was a God send. She went above and beyond any expectation I could have ever had. The labor and delivery floor pediatrician Dr. Buenger was also so respectful of my choices or declines and truly all these amazing women on this unit restored my faith in hospital birth and I fully intend to take this route the next time and not even go down the homebirth route again. If you're contemplating where to have a baby forget Grand Itasca, they are no where comparable. This is where you will feel heard empowered and seen in your most vulnerable time. Great job! And thank you again!
Suffering from intense pain, blood in urine, Fearing my kidneys might be shutting down as a side affect of a med I'd taken earlier that week, I called an ambulance. They were wonderful - I had severe vomiting during the… ride -they stepped it up. The hospital staff surrounded me, and care was immediate and thorough. During the next 3 hours they were pleasant, friendly, supportive and attentive, answering all of my questions and being reassuring. I felt safe, and should another emergency happen to me (live alone senior citizen) I'm so glad we have a local area hospital of such high caliber. Thank you all. :)
A big thank you to the staff who were working Fri. night May 2nd during a fire at the nearby apt building.Several came in from home to assist the people by the ER. This includes the security staff. The police were very… helpful too.
