Food service in cafeteria at the rehab and main campus hospital is awful Ochsner needs to replace Morrison
I could not be more positive about my experience here. I found the rehab people to be extremely well trained ànd very engaged with the patients. The nurses, the doctors, the caregivers are all very good. Surprisingly to… me, the food was outstanding. I believe you'll be glad you came here. I don't usually write reviews but in this case I felt like I must.
Horrible place ! Patient neglect, rude, lazy ,no empathy no compassion, rough with Patient's.My brother had a stroke and couldn't speak ,and he is also paralyzed on his right side. I noticed all the 5 star reviews, are… from people who's loved ones could speak.Shady right?
A great rehabilitation hospital. My patient loves it here. Everyone is so nice. And they really work with your loved one.
This is a very unique place to visit loved ones after serious or traumatic incidents. The staff is very well mannered and very helpful. They highly attentive to their patients and really focus on the patient care as… well as advocacy. Although we didnt plan to stay as long as we have so far we have no complaints. There is a nurses training on the grounds and there is also a cafeteria. Didn't eat so I cant tell how the food is. Other than that the place is very well kept up and clean. Security is a top priority here so before visiting be sure to have everything you need to see your loved ones. Kudos to the PTs, the Nurses, the CNAs, the techs and anyone i missed in between for what you guys do. Watching the process is tough but its for the best to get the patients back home. Thank you all. And huge thanks to the janitors for keeping such a clean facility. Cant tell you how good it feels to be in a public place and use a clean restroom.
My daughter’s father went here for a brain injury while he was treated well he needed longer to be rehabilitated. He left after 3 weeks and still couldn’t walk , speak ,and is still in a diaper. As discouraging as that… may be when he was found a new facility the transportation that they set up put him in a van without air conditioning during an extreme heat advisory. . The driver took a personal detour and showed up at the new facility 3.5 hours late with a patient soaking wet with sweat in a dirty diaper . The transportation company had him in a wheelchair without a safety belt and he fell face first out of the wheelchair on his face two times leading to an emergency room visit . The absolute worst part of this experience is the social worker Keisha she is too busy to actually help you find an additional care facility and has no idea where she is sending your loved one . Zero compassion, it almost feels vengeful . She found us a facility , it moved so fast we didn’t look into it . The patient a human being whom suffered a brain injury , and really needed additional care was sent to a rehabilitation facility that doesn’t even have bed rails on the bed , and honestly looks like it’s in a third world country. So just know please DO NOT trust this woman, and do your research on where she recommends .We have never had to deal with this before it was sudden , foreign , and unexpected. I honestly thought that a case worker at Ochsner would know where she was sending people to receive further care and set up Proper transportation . Please do not fall victim to this , and have a plan when you walk into the door. Knowing what I know now I would have sent him to a different facility because the care after the two weeks is more important than the two week we accomplished nothing, and are stuck in the worst possible position a dog wouldn’t even want to be in .
Amazing! Everyone here is amazing! We are on the 2nd floor again for the 2nd time in a month and I can not believe how great the nurses and nurse assistants are. They pour their heart and soul into everything they do… and sincerely care about your quality of life. This is the best medical facility that we have ever been in. Thank you all so much for making us feel so welcome and thank you for being an amazing group of nurses and doctors!! The rooms here are always clean and very spacious! The bathroom is huge! And you have a great view no matter which room you are in. You can actually see the sky and not a concrete wall.
Very poor facility treat very poor. Do not recommend.
Best care ever, great place for rehab.
I had a terrible fall 2 1/2 weeks ago on a small patch of ice while walking outside after the historic snow storm in the New Orleans area. I shattered my femur. After surgery, I was transferred to Ochsner's Inpatient… Rehab facility just down the road from Ochsner's main campus hospital. The rehab facility is about 7 years old and sits on a piece of land that overlooks the river. It is a very nice, clean facility with spacious rooms and bathrooms. The staff was very friendly and helpful. There are 2 very large rehab rooms that overlook the river. They are well-equipped with everything needed to make a patient stronger and better equipped to go home. The therapists are very knowledgeable, patient and kind as they help a patient learn how to get better. Shout out to Leah (PT), Lauren (OT) and Jerry (group OT) who particularly helped me during my stay. As I type this review, I am happy to be going home today. I feel ready thanks to the therapists, nurses, rehab assistants, nurse practitioners and doctors here at Ochsner's Inpatient Rehab facility.
Facility is beautiful. Service is not good. Many of the care givers are incompetent and rude. Communication is almost nil. Better off going home with home health.
Amazing facility great staff would recommend
My husband has been in here for weeks with a stroke for rehab the rehab people are wonderful the nurses need to be replaced. They gave my husband something to go poop he had no trouble doing that and left him in poop… almost two hours and wonders why he has a sore. This is unacceptable I promise no one in my family will ever go back here.
Why are there no Hoyer lifts at Ochsner Rehab? They needed two people to move my husband from the bed to chair and it could have been much safer and easier for everyone, including the staff.
I was at the rehab facility today and thought it would be nice to share a small glass of wine with my dying grandmother as this was a tradition for us. When I came in I told the security guard I brought wine and 2… glasses so we could have a blessed moment together. He didn't tell me it was against the rules. Then, when someone saw the glasses they told us it was against the rules. We immediately dumped the wine which was literally 1 oz but anyway we put it away in the bag. Then security comes and tells us we need to leave. I asked to speak with the supervisor and he said we could not and then said he was going to call the police on us. We requested several times for the supervisor to come speak with us and he literally called the police on us. This was an atrocious way to handle this situation and I am so disappointed in Oschner.
Don't send yr loved ones here or there is a good chance they will die, this place is absolutely horrible I kid u not, this place should be investigated how dare them call themselves anything associated with care or… health, this place doesn't even belong in a 3rd world country. Horrible
During my stay here at Oschner Rehabilitation center, the staff has been nothing short of amazing in my recovery from a severe car accident. Every single department was attentive and intuitive to my needs and care. They… are accommodating to me and my family. I received holistic wellness and care. I couldn’t have asked for a better facility for my recovery. A year ago they treated my father and best friend following a stroke and the treatment and care of the staff has remained consistent. I am well pleased and would definitely recommend sending a loved one for care.
I’m thrilled with the progress I’ve made in two weeks. Everyone I met was wonderful. I felt so safe at Ochsner Rehab.
They have definitely set the bar high here. Every one I encountered was very friendly and helped encourage me to get better. I'm sorry I don't remember everyones name who helped me but I remember my daily therapists.… Taylor.and Kristen in physical therapy, Jennifer and Brandon in occupational therapy were awesome! They encouraged me to work hard so I would be able to get stronger and go home. Chyanne in nutritional services was so.nice.and even started remembering what I liked to eat and drink, she was such a sweetheart. Now once again I'm.sorry I don't remember everyones name but all the nurses and rehab assistants were wonderful especially Courtney, Kristen and Aramis the rehab assistant was so nice and respectful. This is a fine facility and I am grateful that Dr B accepted me into the program. Thank you all for taking good care of me.
They are doing so much for my brother and they really are saving his life and getting him home early then we accepted he may not need a heart transplant now they're suggesting medicine really love these people and I… want to thank them for doing all they do and all they have done to save my baby brother's life I would rate it 25 Stars
If I could give negative stars I would. Worst facility we’ve ever dealt with, including the theft of my now deceased father’s clothes, inadequate care, lack of communication, and neglect.
To rate this with one star is being nice. This place is a joke! They are rude and down right hateful. They will lie to your face and do/ say the opposite of what's supposed to be. I would not send my worst enemy here.… The lack of respect and care for patients is sad. This place should be looked into and completely restaffed from the top to bottom. Please rethink before sending someone to stay at this place. It may cost them their life.
The worse experience I've encounter with ANY healthcare facility
I used to think the stories about how nursing homes mistreated the elderly were exaggerated. But after my mom’s stay with skilled nursing aka nursing home, I’m a believer. I’ve never experienced such a group of… disrespectful, unprofessional and downright spiteful nurses in all my life. The way they talked to the elders and treated them during their stay was abhorrent. The skilled nursing floor of that rehab hospital is nothing more than a dumping ground for elders where spirits go to be broken and die. I pray for each and every individual lost to that place. Please think twice before sending anywhere there… not even as a last resort. We were even low key accused of trying to steal a walker when we went to check mom out of there.
