About Psychology Department – Omaha
Psychology Department operates from 6902 Pine Street in Omaha. The site sits in Douglas County, which shapes which public funding routes apply. Nearby communities include La Vista and Ralston. Nebraska draws people across long distances for treatment, so travel time is worth weighing against waiting time.
Outpatient care is delivered here, alongside telehealth appointments. Which level fits depends on the assessment rather than on what is available, so the useful first question is what that assessment involves. Care offered spans more than one level, which means someone can move between them without changing provider.

Treatment Services at Psychology Department
Outpatient care runs to a set weekly schedule, with evenings and weekends spent at home. That suits people holding down work or caring responsibilities, though it asks more of someone managing early recovery alone. Ask what the assessment involves before you commit.
Trauma-specific services run alongside, which matters where the two are tangled together. Ask what happens at the end of the program as well as the beginning, since that is where plans usually thin out. Waiting times move with capacity, and what was true last month may not hold this week.

Psychology Department Address, Location and Contact Information
The address is 6902 Pine Street, Omaha, NE 68105, in Douglas County. The catchment reaches La Vista and Ralston. Confirm what a program covers before traveling in, since the level of care listed is not always the level with capacity.
Telehealth appointments cover some contact where travel is difficult, which removes part of the journey for people further out. Ask what a first appointment involves and how long the current wait runs before making the trip. Waiting times vary with capacity, so call ahead rather than arriving unannounced.

It's a hospital
They treat their clients very well!
State of the art facility! What they do for our community is invaluable.
This place is a joke! They do not listen to the patient, they take their dear sweet time. I’ve never seen such incompetence in my life. If I could give them a zero in stars I would.
My son spent six months at the Severe Behavior clinic of MMI. From the second we stepped foot on campus, it was an amazing experience filled with support. My son made considerable progress there. The staff worked… tirelessly with him and made us all feel supported. My son required ongoing support that needed to be continued and more 24 hour care to ensure that his needs were being met. The team operated like super heroes. They supported my son, celebrated him and protected him through the process of finding support for him. This group should expand 100x as this is the most important need our society has. Parents of kids with challenging behaviors cannot sustain their environments long term. It is so very hard. If there were 500 stars, I would give it to them. They are the MOST professional, considerate, kind and loving human beings we have had the fortune to know. Please reach out to me if you want to know more, I’m happy to tell you all about how amazing they all are.
Dental
If you are an adult female, DO NOT come here. MMI does not know how to assess us and don’t expect any answers from the doctors here. I got a referral through my psychiatrist for an autism evaluation. Like an idiot, I… hoped this would be an answer. My mistake was trusting the healthcare system to adequately be able to assess me as an adult woman. Nearly 80% of women with autism are misdiagnosed with something else. The assessment never even touched on any kind of masking behaviors common with women and girls and was an extreme one-size-fits-all approach of an examination. It’s as if they don’t know neurological disorders present differently between sexes. The doctor administered a test where they had me play with blocks and read children’s books out loud as a 30 year old woman. The doctor had to literally reassure me this was the right exam. My mistake was trusting her. I wish they would have told me they have no idea how to assess me before I waited an entire year on a waitlist. Now I have to shell out a bunch of money to have been given ANOTHER diagnosis of depression and anxiety. I am beyond angry at this institution and the entire healthcare system for its criminal neglect of women’s health and there is nothing I can do about it. Also it’s next to impossible to get ahold of them if you have any questions. Do not let the futuristic decor and building fool you into having any hope for answers or help.
I would never recommend this place to anyone! Billing department is garbage and the staff in general do not listen or follow the simple request of "please only use in network providers". No matter how many times i… talked with billing and the staff they rarely complied and now we owe $$$$. They sent us to collections while working with billing trying to figure out why insurance wasn't covering because again, when we first started i specifically stated that I wanted to stay in network and to later find that they where at fault for not following our request in the first place. The problem was hard to find because our daughter saw the same person every week but we found that whichever staff was on the line via telehealth (not always listed on the statement) on different weeks made the difference on whether or not it was in network or out. When we moved to NE we needed to find therapy for our daughter asap and we didn't know where to start, so per the recommendation of her school counselor we started here and it was the biggest mistake all around. My recommendation is to look elsewhere, we did and it made all the difference! Better everything and we don't owe them thousands because they know that the need for continuing weekly therapy is expensive and followed our simple request.
I would not recommend Munroe Meyer for feeding therapy. Unfortunately we started here from the very beginning when my son was ~9 months old and he’s almost 3 now, so it’s all we had ever known as we attended weekly. He… has chronic kidney disease and has had a feeding tube his whole life…he doesn’t have behavioral problems. Their approach is that the feeding therapists/parents are in control, and the child will be forced to swallow bites/drinks even if they’re screaming crying. And the session is only over when the therapist says it is, not just because the child is unhappy. If the child is trying to push the food away, either the therapist or parent holds their arms down and head still so the food can be forced in their mouth. For some reason people act like this place is so reputable, so I thought this was a normal approach. It wasn’t uncommon for both me and my son to be crying during a session. Practicing eating at home was a nightmare because the foods we practiced at feeding became such a negative thing for my son. I wish someone would have told me a long time ago that this isn’t typically the case with feeding therapy. Now we have a lot of unlearning and re-learning to do.
I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE. My son was in the server behavior program from September 2024 til December 2024. I applied because my son had serious behavior issues and is getting older and Was attempting… to start hitting me and his Father. I was looking for help to control this but through this program they only made it worse. By the end of the program my son was ready to fight me everyday. He pretty much learned even if he hits me there will be no consequences and if he stopped and folded a piece of laundry he can have what he wants. I asked if there was another way to handle this and they said No we could just give him perfered items longer and work on the behavior in shorter times.. Now this is only a 3 hour program and when my son didn't get his perfered item and had to do something I asked him to do, this would trigger his behavior most of the time and I found my self fighting him off for 2+ hours. During this time I was supposed to hold his hands back from destroying my house on beating me. He still managed to break a window with Munroe-Meyer said they were not responsible for this even though I was doing what they told me to do and let him pound on the window, till it finally broke. He also had picked up an object threw it at my head which split my forehead open, so I had a goose egg and a cut. I was black and blue on both my arms from him grabbing my skin and pinching and twisting it and black and blue on my shins from him kicking me so hard while I has holding his hands trying to keep him from punching me and pulling my hair out and bitting me. All as they watched, they were not supposed to step in cause I was supposed to try to learn how to handle it, 🤦♀️.. Now let me remind you at the beginning my son was not comfortably hitting us yet, my son likes to elope and threaten to kill us everyday. By then end of the program he was very comfortable to hit me. Now Im so glad this program only lasted 3 months cause I don't know how much more I could take of this.. I will say the kids there learning trying to get there degree were very kind and friendly but they were learning and doing as they were told. I don't agree how this program works and the Philosophy they came up with to control server behavior this way. It took me so long to write a review cause I didn't want to write it out of Anger.. AGAIN I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS PROGRAM TO ANYONE....
This was so funny that I told Mrs Lindsay where’s her red nail polish at mmi Unmc in 2010 14 years ago
I love the Camp Munroe
Dr Higgins excellent dr , he help my family all people is good
The reviews listed, currently, are from the previous location on 42nd street. My review is in regards to the new location which opened summer 2021. The Scott Campus location is a state of the art facility. The staff is… over qualified and their services provided are phenomenal. This Omaha institution is renowned nation wide and I'm grateful our family may utilize their services.
After seeing what this place does to children while getting them into “feeding therapy” I am sickened. I will never recommend this business to anyone. You should be ashamed of yourself.
