About Douglas County – Omaha (4102 Woolworth Avenue)
Douglas County operates from 4102 Woolworth Avenue in Omaha. The site sits in Douglas County, which shapes which public funding routes apply. Nearby communities include La Vista and Ralston. Nebraska draws people across long distances for treatment, so travel time is worth weighing against waiting time.
Hospital inpatient care, partial hospitalization and outpatient care are delivered here, alongside medication-assisted treatment, telehealth appointments and care for co-occurring mental health conditions. Which level fits depends on the assessment rather than on what is available, so the useful first question is what that assessment involves.

Treatment Services at Douglas County
Hospital inpatient care, partial hospitalization and outpatient care run to a set weekly schedule, with evenings and weekends spent at home. That suits people holding down work or caring responsibilities, though it asks more of someone managing early recovery alone.
Naltrexone is available and paired with counseling rather than prescribed alone. Trauma-specific services run alongside, which matters where the two are tangled together. Co-occurring mental health conditions are treated in the same building rather than split across providers. Ask what the assessment involves before you commit.

A lot safer and much more effective than lasting hope
The fact that Dr. Kauzlarich is the director entails that this entire government facility should be closed immediately until a serious investigation is preformed. I will say that a lot of the staff were professional,… accommodating, and warm. Dr. Kauzlarich represents the epitome of the psychiatric industry's catastrophic abuse of power. This person should be completely banned from any position of authority. Dr. Kauzlarich suffers from severe lack of logic and memory issues, is highly stubborn, and relies on inconsistent paperwork rather than his own rationality. Dr. Kauzlarich has stated, under oath, multiple false pieces of information, with little hesitation, portraying no sense of moral or ethical responsibility over his actions and completely abandoned his oath as a psychiatric professional. Dr. Kauzlarich immediately suggested a tetanus for a slight scratch on my muscle [that had mostly recovered by the time I left the hospital], rather than first asking if I applied antibiotic cream or sanitization. He then questioned the competent legitimacy of a combat life saver certification issued by the U.S. Army. Dr. Kauzlarich has on multiple occasions stated that it is irrational of me to file lawsuits against people [I filed 3 that were highly spaced out, with the second being related to the first one] after I had mentioned to him that I was going to sue him.
Horrible place would NEVER recommend the mental health side at all. They don’t care and barely do any groups during the days.
Terrible Place, Terrible Care, or should I say, No Care.........
Worst place EVER!! THEY try to keep you in here even if you voulntarly went. Worse than the county jail. No TV until 7pm. Unless you use the one in the rec room which they lock those doors whenever they want!! It's hell… here
The staff are amazing. My brother-in-law spent the last 16 months of his life there. We will always be grateful for the care he received. They were so accommodating even when 10 of us showed up to celebrate his birthday.
Nothing much too say..need better staff!!!
Oh My! I was looking for care for a friend's relative and checked Nursing Home Compare and saw that The Douglas County Health Center has been downgraded from a 5 Star facility to a 1 Star facility by The Centers for… Medicare and Medicaid Services. This is an unfortunate development and a heart break to see such a decline. You might want to change your website to reflect that you are no longer 5 stars but down to a 1 star.
Front dest lady named Kim is absolutely rude and gives attitude if you ask questions about anything. She just hangs up on you when you are done with your call.
Saved my life during some terrible mental health periods. Everyone I encountered was helpful and friendly. I learned a ton of skills and resources the short time I received outpatient care in both a solo and group… setting with my therapist. Her name was Peggy and she taught me how to pull myself out of the darkest places. I recommend to anyone who is struggling and needing care to try out a walk-in triage visit.
This bleak, depressing, poorly run "hospital" is the last place I'd want to end up. The nurses are under-qualified, the social services workers like to isolate patients and the pharmacy employs people of questionable… ethics IMO. The patients seem to be kept heavily drugged up to avoid problems. It's a dangerous, dirty place. Avoid.
I was here when COVID started until Aug of that year I believe in my in my heart that without there great care I would of been dead . So when a chance to get my inpatient Physical Therapy here I jumped at chance . Been… here about 2 months and care is still A ++××× . If there was 10 stars I would given it to DCHC.. God Bless the workers and staff here..
They care, Rachel and Amy are amazing so is Kristen at the front desk!!! Thank you ladies for all you do
I've been to places where they commit medical battery and kill patients. Douglas County health doesn't do that. It's a safe place to be.
Can get a therapist or psychiatrist appointment in 1-2 weeks as a new patient. I don't know of anywhere else that does that.
I had a mental break down and had to seek help with this company. During that time I was told that I was on a grant and would not have to owe anything. All of the sudden, a year later I receive and invoice saying my… account was past due. There was no other information on how to dispute or even pay the bill except calling a specific number. I called that number multiple times and left multiple messages and no one ever got back to me. Fast forward 6 months and many attempts to contact them. I now get a letter in the mail from a 3rd party collections agency asking if I accept the debt. Of course I would not seeing that this place would not even contact me, let alone pick up a phone. I am currently still fighting this and may seek legal advice if it is not rectified.
I fell on the stairs hurting my shoulder n chest I went to UNMC n the doctor gave me a referral for an Orthopedic specialist but due to my insurance situation I had to go to the clinic to seek help I begged them for an… MRI but to no avail I had to go through physical therapy that only had me in extreme pain n at the of complaints was made to feel as if I was faking an injury was told nearly every time they didn't prescribe pain medication n I was some sort of bum or Freud that they could treat with total disrespect I had only consistently asked to please be given a referral to have an MRI done but every medical person I seen acted to me in a very unsimpathetic way fortunately after all the many painful n humiliating visits to physical therapy Nebraska expanded Medicaid n I signed up allowing to see real doctors that put me in for an MRI that would show rupture in my chest muscle n tendons damaged in my shoulder the tendon between my chest n shoulder nearly detached causing increasable pain n discomfort !! The nightmare of the clinic is over n now 2 1/2 later I'm scheduled for operations to repair what can be repaired unfortunately tendons have to be repaid as soon after the injury as possible n due to the absolute neglect I received there they maybe unrepairable if I had money I would absolutely sue them for the unprofessional way I was treated that caused me a huge amount of pain n humiliation in my 58 years never would I have thought this could happen in the US let alone Omaha Nebraska the whole thing saddens me to think others are being treated in this way n may even become handy capped because of the extreme neglect n incompetence!!
Very uncaring people, don't place family here! They make harsh remarks and make patients cry, I've never seen a more unprofessional care -- ha ha facility. Work left to NA unqualified and your loved ones belonging are… theres...they steal. end the County to investigate like they did the landfill....Criminals free place to get resources ... thats here..money, debit cards and free snacks.
Mental health center.. very unstructured and health care givers are not professional either Staff one particular staff was look down on me and said something bad then walked away And not proper apology after i brought… up the issue No valuable group time and nothing helped me. You basically stay in your bed all day long. It was total waste of time.
I will never go there again for services. Looking back on my situation and how I was treated in regards to some issues that I was personally dealing with. I was very disrespected.
