Access Supports for Living Inc – Newburgh

This sounds like a great community resource that money should be thrown at ..... Yet poor management and disorganized staff and scheduling are real problems. I went through the process to gain a therapist. Confirmed 3… times that I'd be available, only to have the appointment cancelled by access only minutes before it was to begin. Wish we had better resources available

Access Support for living has been a huge impact in my crazy life and I would like to publicly acknowledge them and some people because they probably don't get the credit they deserve or people probably don't know who… they are. My Care manager Patsy and her supervisor Diana have helped me in the past few years with some of the hardest days of my life. They're trained professionals in the occupation of helping mentally ill patients or probably anyone who needed help with certain things that can overwhelm people. Example mental health, counseling, housing, insurance, food stamps, advocating for you when you feel you need more support behind you. Without them I'd lose my mind and there's no words or anything I can do to really relay the grafication I have for them and the agency at 21 grand Street in Newburgh NY. Without them I wouldn't have gotten out of positions I put myself in or get further ahead in life even though the process is slow it's better to have a team you can count on and I always admit to them I'm a handful but so thankful they are so professional and still want to help me even if I come off as a jerk sometimes or most times I'll be honest. Mha is the alternative agency and I've heard so many complaints by people that the care managers never call you back or even guide you to make your life better. I wish I could do something to show appreciation and this isn't enough because how many people Read this. Anyway reach out to them if you need assistance in life desicions and housing because if they're acting at being nice and not genuine they need Grammys because I couldn't tell. It's a Job you have to love everyday not just a paycheck. Without Patsy in the past 2 years I'd be completely lost and not ever thinking I'd have a future. So thanks ladies and if you need care management go do an intake with access support for living. Hopefully she doesn't get upset I praised them like this but I don't care I gotta show appreciation for what it is and deserved. They have so many things to help people get there lives back on track.

A counselor in Newburgh offered to help me; "if you're afraid of elevators", and told me, "(we all like) to (unbutton) our shirts once in a while" she refused to allow me her supervisors name; sent police, and mobile… mental health later that night, to my home, because she was nervous "about my mental" safety as a preventative "reprisal". That meeting was recorded.

We visited urgent care for my daughter. The staff were professional, and help expedite care. Counselors followed up providing critical supports and information. Grand street location was clean and welcoming.

Very poor experience.

Sat in the waiting room for an hour after I showed up waiting for the ladies who were talking and giggling behind the counter to call me to electronically sign my paperwork. Couldn’t even be seen because of how long I… was there. Definitely need different people behind the counter. Took me 5 minutes to fill out the packet I was given. Why did it take over an hour to put my information into the computer? Be in mind, I’ve been here in the past so my information should already be in the system. Absolutely awful.

Wasted three weeks of my time. A simple, “we’re not prescribing you medication anymore” would’ve sufficed. Let me have withdrawals, listen to me say I want to die because of how I felt being off my medication so long.… Proceeded to tell me that the only thing they could do for me is provide conversation. Useless. Never returning to this place. ZERO emergency protocols in place for situations where patients run out of medication and may have been to busy to get it refilled. Thank you for nothing Access.👌🏾

I WISH I COULD GIVE THEM 0 STARS. THEY TOLD ME TO COME BACK SEVERAL TIMES IN THE SAME DAY TO GET MY MEDICINE. THEY ARE USELESS. EVERYONE SINGLE ONE OF THEM.
