Center for Recovery – Newburgh Detox and Rehab Services

The provision listed at Center for Recovery – Newburgh is intensive outpatient and outpatient care. Structured outpatient runs to a schedule while people return home in the evening. Anyone unsure which level fits should ask for an assessment rather than choosing from a list, since placement criteria exist precisely to make that judgement.

The listing records a single focus rather than combined treatment, so anyone needing both should confirm what is available. Medication and talking treatment run together under clinical oversight. The weekly time commitment varies considerably between providers, so establish it early rather than after admission.

I was a patient at the center for recovery for almost 2 years, and I would still be there had I not been forced to switch clinics do to my transportation situation. God's honest truth I would give anything to be back at… that clinic. The staff is absolutely amazing, they truly care about each and every person who walks through their door. They take time to listen to you, they follow through with all recommendations that are set between the staff and client, for me personally it was an all around an amazing experience and the minute that I can return to that facility I definitely will. I cannot thank the entire staff enough for everything that they have done for me, starting with the doctor's all the way down to the secretary. They are all amazing.

Don’t do it! Go to any other clinic but this one. They do NOT care about you or your recovery. They will legitimately tell you that you’re wrong for being honest and that your sobriety isn’t top priority. I spent 8… years at an amazing clinic and was so loved and respected there. This clinic has done nothing but ostracize me for trying to do the right thing. This place will literally show you that the stigma of liquid handcuffs is real. They don’t care about you, your life or your recovery. Had a meeting today and brought in a binder I made just for the meeting, full of photos of my family and what I’ve built over the last 8.5 years and only 1 of 3 people even bothered to take a peek. The one lady just looked at me like I was the scum beneath her feet and proceeded to tell me I was wrong about my own transfer process. The disrespect and lack of care at this clinic is astounding and sickening. They are there to cheer you on, guide you and make your life better but they don’t want that. They want to make it harder. Just don’t go here. This is coming from someone who just spent 8 years at another clinic and I promise you will not get better here. Go somewhere that wants you to get better. Go somewhere that supports you and your recovery. They don’t. At all.

Don’t go to this clinic!!! I just switched from the best clinic in NJ (MCAC) and have never regretted a decision more in my life, absolutely the worst choice I made for my recovery. Walked in the door with 8 years clean… with a phase 8 status from my home clinic. 2 years of drug tests with a letter stating I’ve got 8 full years (their system only allows them to share 2 years). Yet my phase status was pulled, I was sent from 90mfg to 30mg and everyone is constantly making comments about my clean urines or the fact I “look good for starting methadone” receptionist ladies own words). Point blank is they expect everyone to be dirty and will treat you as so. This clinic has shown me that the stigma of liquid handcuffs is VERY real and not all recovery centers are good. This one truly doesn’t care about your sobriety or best interest. They’re only here to show you they control your life now. They also make you pay for days you don’t dose, which I’ve never had to do and find VERY shady. Just don’t do it. Travel to NJ if you can. mCAC will treat you like a human. Not an addict. Don’t let this place bring you down and risk your sobriety like they have mine.

November of 2023 I walked through the doors of the Center for Recovery - I was introduced to Marie for my Intake who asked me a million questions and explained the program to me. Like so many times in the past I thought… ok I will do what everyone wants me to do and get help. I started the program as an out patient three days a week and learned the basics of addiction and the coping skills to make recovery work. My goal now is to proceed with an education in Alcohol and Drug Addiction and try to give back to a program that offered me my life back. My journey began 7 months ago and the only path is forward. I found friends here from peers in group, security guards, nurses and Counselors. If you are struggling or feel you have a problem please call Center for Recovery today and make the change in your life that you deserve.

I mean I've been going there for a couple of years and have gotten many good helping hands from counselors there .it's true the director Marie isn't a caring nor shows sympathy or concern for clients there but it's up… to you to do your best .so get the help you need cause there isn't to many outpatient methadone clinics out in the Catskill.

It’s by far the worst program that is available in Newburgh. The main Director Maria does not care about your recovery or wellbeing she lies to get you in trouble and she does not care if she can’t make money she will… try to get you out of there anyway possible do not go. Please do not go gray if you want your life back stay far away from that place.

Paul Hemsing4 years ago

Do not guest dose here. They do not care how long you have been in treatment they will make you come EVERY DAY instead of giving you your usual take home bottles. Have fun driving in the ghetto of Newburgh every day,… lock your doors. Terrible clinic, nobody returns calls, they just want your money and don’t tell you they are about to screw you over until the last minute so you literally have zero choice. Too bad there is no zero star option.
