About Ascend Recovery Center – Albuquerque
Ascend Recovery Center operates from 883 Lead Avenue SE in Albuquerque. The site sits in Bernalillo County, which shapes which public funding routes apply. Nearby communities include Kirtland AFB, Los Ranchos de Albuquerque and North Valley. Distance matters here, and the nearest option is not always the one that fits.
Hospital inpatient care, residential treatment and outpatient care are delivered here, alongside care for co-occurring mental health conditions. Which level fits depends on the assessment rather than on what is available, so the useful first question is what that assessment involves.

Treatment Services at Ascend Recovery Center
Hospital inpatient care, residential treatment and outpatient care run to a set weekly schedule, with evenings and weekends spent at home. That suits people holding down work or caring responsibilities, though it asks more of someone managing early recovery alone.
Trauma-specific services run alongside, which matters where the two are tangled together. Co-occurring mental health conditions are treated in the same building rather than split across providers. Assessment decides the level of care, so ask what that involves and how quickly it can happen.

Ascend Recovery Center Address, Location and Contact Information
The address is 883 Lead Avenue SE, Albuquerque, NM 87102, in Bernalillo County. The catchment reaches Kirtland AFB, Los Ranchos de Albuquerque and North Valley. Confirm what a program covers before traveling in, since the level of care listed is not always the level with capacity.
Ask what a first appointment involves and how long the current wait runs before making the trip. Opening hours shift with staffing, and an evening slot one month may not exist the next. Waiting times vary with capacity, so call ahead rather than arriving unannounced.

Ascend Recovery Center Reviews and Ratings
Referring professionals and healthcare workers who have worked with Ascend Recovery Center can leave a review in this section, as can patients and their loved ones. Accounts of how referrals and handovers were handled are especially useful.
Ascend was the best thing that happened to me. I was taken great care of though my whole stay there. Staff was so great. Thank you for the friends. Thank you to Peter, Anthony, Jamal, Vicky, Alex, X and the rest of the… staff for being to welcoming while the two weeks I was there. Love you all journey to my sobriety started with you all n here I go.
Coming here felt like a massive leap into the unknown, especially dealing with all that shame I carried around. The team in Ascend Recovery Center didn't treat me like a problem to be solved, but a person worth helping.… There were days I wanted to pack my bags and bolt, but the support here kept me grounded. Now, I actually wake up without that weight on my chest. It’s hard to put into words, but this place truly changed my trajectory.
Walking through those doors the first day, my hands wouldn't stop shaking. Alcohol destroyed my relationships and left me completely isolated. Thankfully, the counselors here actually listened instead of lecturing.… Sitting in these exact group circles changed everything for me. Hearing other people share their raw, real struggles made the loneliness disappear. Celebrating six months sober today. This place gives you your life back.
Love these people at Ascend, very knowledgeable in substance abuse. I would recommend this place to friends and family.
This place is all heart. Virtually every staff person I interacted with was genuinely in it for the right reasons. Thank you Dan, Teddy, Jamal and everybody there for making a tough situation a lot more tolerable for… me, my husband and others. You really touched our lives.
How do I join the program I need help with my drug addiction
I want to thank everyone who works here. The staff is great. They are very welcoming. They are short staffed but do their best. My experience was great They came and got me when I needed a ride. They helped get me… sober. This 2nd time they helped with my mental health. They are implementing new systems which is good, but is kind of rough. They are doing their best, and are always there.
Been there for detox a few times their team is amazing, nurses like Hanifa and Ebony are very knowledgeable and caring. Also Cisco, Dan and Jamal are great at what they do! All staff is amazing and thank you for taking… care of me!
Had an amazing experience here, one of the most personable groups of people to come to for recovery and truly helped me with developing the tools necessary to start my recovery. Did the the 10 day detox and got exactly… what I wanted out of the experience, healthy nutrition, great groups and even your own personal tv in the rooms to help pass the time. If you’re serious about your recovery and want a wholesome, worthwhile and safe place to do it, I recommend coming here.
I really enjoyed my experience here at ascend recovery center the staff as well as the other people here the groups that they give us are really good for me I honestly feel ready to continue my sober life now that I… left thanks to all the support of everything and everyone here If anyone is looking for a good recovery center to help them with their addictions and get tips to continue living sober I would strongly recommend ascend recovery center
Ascend Recovery is a great detox treatment and residential center. Staff is amazing! Shoutout to Kelly, Dan, Jeff, and the nurses Ebony, Jenny, Honey and Martha! Thank you to everyone who assisted me during my stay!… Highly recommend!!
This was my first rehab and I was very nervous as I was used to being on the other side as a health care professional. The staff here was amazing, and I ended up having a profound experience. Thank you to all especially… Dan and Kelly.
Incredible facilities, staff, and environment to recover in. I’ve unfortunately been to a few detoxes and recovery centers and this was far and away the best most healing experience I’ve ever had. Would recommend to… anyone looking to make a change in their life.
If you call and ask for Josh you will be instantly comfortable and in the hands of someone kind. He is the best to work with and the best to hang around even if it’s just over the phone! He has a genuine passion for… helping people and makes me want to trust the precious people we care for in the hands of the people HE trusts. Ascend is a versatile organizational brand offering an array of services for both mental health and addiction. It’s a solid choice if you are looking for a space of healing and grace.

Here’s a name drop for you, BHT; Dan and Jeff were off the charts helpful; Kelly is amazing. Ebony and Anefa were so kind to me for nursing and medication. Jamal is the best all around helping with everything. Jay is a great group leader and will help guide you down the right path! CHOOSE THIS PLACE!!! THANK YOU ASCEND!!!
This is the best Detox place in ABQ and the offer residential treatment too! The staff here is amazing! They really care about your recovery! Stick to the plan Dan will make sure you hit your groups. Fan favorites Mama… Bear Kelly, Jay, Ebony, Jamal, but most of all Martha! If you need help this place is top notch!!
Ascend Recovery helped me bring back my confidence and determination to stay sober. The support and empathy this place embraces can truly change someone’s life around and help remember the strength and courage that was… always there for someone struggling.
I have been to a few different detox/rehabs and this is the one place, I felt safe. The Staff is amazing and caring and extremely helpful!
The staff and everyone there made my stay so amazing and comfortable. I was so scared but the staff helped me every time I was nervous and they got me my medication I needed almost as soon as I got there. It was my… first time in a rehab/mental health facility and I would 100 percent recommend this place. I will never forget the employees and people I got to meet!! Thank you guys so much❤️
The staff at Ascend Recovery Center are second to none and truly care about their patients. They really help people through with whatever they are dealing with with kindness and understanding. They have some… administrative issues to work though, but the treatment received definitely makes up for it.
This is a overall a good still working out some bumps whit the place but the staff are great people and is a good program
Caring and knowledgeable staff and 24hr medical personnel ensure great and thorough care- this is your place for detox and recovery-
The staff was great even though they are all highly overworked, and the management team is slightly disorganized. Overall the only way that I can see Ascend recovery working for anyone is if they grab their soberity and… work it for themselves and utilize the staff for their own needs, otherwise they are just keeping you away from your preferred substances for the 30 days. I personally do not regret any of the time that I was there, but the "daily activities" and resources could use a complete overhaul and focus on a more structured curriculum versus the free time that is allowed.
The facility is absolutely immaculate,5 star living for sure and a totally clean and sanitary environment to embrace your recovery in.The staff is also top notch and on top of their game. The staff actually exudes an… understanding and completely empathetic and caring The fact that their staff from admissions to techs to nursing to therapists are for the most part also in recovery makes all the difference ,big respect to their admissions staff
The nursing and support staff are AMAZING. The management….not so much. Very disorganized, no one seems to know what is going on, staff seem upset with management as well. The food is catered every evening and isn’t… that great, however, it is getting better. We(patients) had to run our own AA groups and only had 2 nights a week where they brought meetings into the facility. We were not able to go to any outside meetings. We would be put in a room and had to wing it on our own or sat in front of the TV and watched TedTalks. We had daily meditations which typically consist of being put in a room and listening to YouTube guided meditations. They do bring in a gentleman who does meditation/breath work/sound baths and messages once a week. Music therapy is held once a week as well as yoga. In the almost 30 Days I was there, we went on 3 walks…not a lot of opportunities for movement. There needs to be more support staff as well as counseling staff and case managers. They appear to be very understaffed to meet all the needs of the clients. There is only 1 full time counselor as well as 1 part time (who is absolutely amazing) there are not a lot of 1:1 counseling sessions. So if you need therapy…don’t plan on getting much. The case manager is expected to run groups and perform case management duties, which is not conducive to proper/timely patient care. They need to have a full time group facilitator and a separate full time case manager. I had a 12 year history of benzo use and was rapidly tapered off (7 days) which can be deadly. Was told by 2 different providers that it should take 3-4 MONTHS to properly come off benzos. This lead me to have pretty severe withdrawal symptoms and landed me in the hospital. They would not allow me to take my prescription dose of Xanax while in their care, so if you plan on coming in on benzos during your stay…get ready for feeling pretty rough for days/weeks because it will not be given to you except for the rapid taper of Ativan. I had a lot of medical issues come up during my stay and the nursing staff was excellent at coordinating appointments and providing me exceptional care. I can’t say enough good things about the nurses and techs. They made my stay so much more comfortable. There is a lot of free time, unfortunately. They do have a lot of crafts to help pass the time. We watched a lot of TV and played a lot of cards. The other clients that were there also made my stay enjoyable as we formed a strong bond. Without them, I would not have enjoyed being there. Overall, the facility is nice and clean (bring a fan if you are a hot sleeper, the rooms are warm) The nursing and other ancillary staff are great.Management/staffing/communication needs a lot of improvement. They are in a transition into a new building so hopefully things improve with time.
Overall it was a decent facility. The staff were great and extremely friendly. The food was mediocre with a lot of junk food and very little opportunity to eat healthy. (I.e microwave meals, sandwiches, chips, sweets)… There were little to no options for exercise or movement, a majority of the time was spent sitting in groups or watching tv. Our only options to go outside and get ‘fresh air’ was during short smoke breaks. Groups seemed to be hit and miss. The facility is understaffed and when they got too busy we would just get tossed in a room to watch YouTube videos for our groups.
Was a good detox
