Carroll Hospital – Westminster Address, Location and Contact Information
Carroll Hospital – Westminster is located at 200 Memorial Avenue in Westminster, Maryland, 21157. Westminster sits in Carroll County. The site also serves the surrounding area, and anyone traveling in should confirm the route before setting out. Public transport, parking and the length of the journey all affect whether someone completes a course of treatment, and they are worth settling before the first appointment rather than after.
A quick call before you go will settle directions, parking and what to expect first time. Where travel is difficult, ask whether an initial appointment can be held remotely. Where no one answers, leaving a message and calling again later usually works better than giving up.

My wife mom had surgery today everyone from the doctor to the people check her in was amazing
The worst hospital experience of my lifetime. I came to the ER because I was in a place of need with serious medical concerns, but they could not verify my insurance or tell me whether I would have any out-of-pocket… costs, so I ultimately left without being medically evaluated. After leaving, I was standing beside my car, stretching and trying to get myself together so I could safely drive home. I have several brain injuries, which was part of the reason I came to the hospital. A person I believe was a security guard approached me and shined an extremely bright spotlight directly into my eyes. It affected my vision and made me feel worse while I was already struggling medically. I was still trying to recover my vision and make sure I was safe to drive, yet he continued watching me and yelled at me to leave. I was not causing a disturbance or doing anything wrong. I was a patient who had just sought help for serious medical concerns and was simply trying to make sure I could safely get home. To be treated this way while I was in such a vulnerable state was incredibly disturbing and, honestly, one of the worst experiences of my life. There was zero compassion or respect for me as a human being when I was already struggling and seeking medical help. They don’t deserve a single star for the way I was treated
I came by ambulance to the emergency room. They took great care of me till I got to the hospital. Once there all the people who took care of me were extremly helpful and kind. Answered all my questions. The doctor came… and spoke to me about my bloodwork and went over some instructions with me about my medications.
If you're sent to the ED, I have a positive experience to share at the end of this review. However my updated review of Carroll Hospital pertains to the in patient care experience. AWFUL! Only in for one day. My T1… diabetes was not managed at all. I had to take it into my own hands. They refused to give me my thyroid medication until it was 3 hours past due -- claiming I couldn't even have a sip of water past midnight because I was waiting to get a procedure done WHICH DID NOT EVEN REQUIRE FASTING. And worst of all they confiscated my chemo medication & continued to withhold it from me even after the procedure was completed. They do not stock the medication, it was my personal prescription, obviously in the computer as a drug I take for my cancer. And they withheld it from me even knowing I'd missed my dose yesterday on the grounds it was "for my safety"?? WTH? Nothing I was given in the hospital was new to me, the only unsafe thing going on is they are not letting me treat my cancer! If you have any important prescriptions on you when you come to this hospital, do not tell them or they will steal it from you & not give it back until you're discharged, even if your dose is overdue. It's the complete opposite of taking care of a patient's health & I hope I never have to be in Carroll for hospital treatment ever again. The good -- the ED -- Dr. Annous, an invaluable new addition to CHC, had the expertise to properly diagnose the cause of my dire condition. He & the ER team literally saved my life through CPR & appropriate treatment. Very grateful!
Showed up in the ED around 9:00 at night and was Triaged right away by two amazing nurses i wish I knew their name! Was seen almost immediately by Dr.Loper who was so sweet and gentle. He informed me of my care plan and… I was immediately taken to a room where I was seen by Nurse Eddie. He was also so sweet and gentle! He got me hooked up to the monitor, meds and fluids so quickly which was almost instant relief . Start to finish everyone was very professional I was out of there in 4.5 hours!
Took 4+ hours to be discharged. We just were not a priority. We had to say we would leave AMA and the doctor appeared within 5-10 minutes. After the doctor said the orders for discharge were put in we had to wait an… additional 3 hours.
This Hospital is a "well oiled machine". Staff, doctors, techs are excellent and compassionate. Be prepared to wait for sicker patients get priority. As it should be.
9 hours in er for an x-ray. No wonder everyone goes to urgent care. You guys suck!!! Why not just take a patient the whole way through. Come get me, sit down, like 3-4 times. And it wasn't busy. Lifebridge is the worst.… My doctors office is lifebridge... want to book an appointment? Your call goes to India. They can't hire someone in the office. What is that $15/hr? Nope they'd rather send the money overseas and have an office there handle it. Hey as long as they keep the investors happy. only care about profit.
This experience (in the ER) definitely was not "The Pitt"! Taken back very quickly and everyone was kind, efficient, understanding and caring. They made an overwhelmed car accident patient feel like she was in good… hands. I especially want to give a shout out to Casey Collins MD. What an awesome doctor! Great bedside manner too.
I have changed my ranking to be slightly higher for their ER department. It deserves to be broken down into levels though. Nurses- 5/5. Excellent, did everything I could have asked for. Handcuffed by those in charge… around them. Doctors 4/5. Did a good job but tended to spend a little more time socializing than the caseload would indicate is smart. I know it reassures patients but if you're going to sign up for someone off the docket, they probably would like to be seen within 90 minutes in an "emergency" room? The simultaneous action of grabbing them quickly but preventing anyone else from taking them is a bit suspect looking if nothing else. And who knows maybe its all behind the scenes stuff that prevents them from getting to us faster. Finding the appropriate balance of that is likely the biggest part of the non-medical aspect of the job. Still, this is just explaining I thought they were great. Pharmacy- 0/5. I wish a negative was an acceptable score. Ive been there twice in the past 5 years. Both times the pharmacy messed up a VERY simple order in the most critical of ways. First time they just declined to write down what the on call doctor called and told them to give me, then left for the day. The doctor came and told me they got ahold of them and it would be coming soon. Then a half hour later a nurse came and asked for my doctor's office and number. This is astoundingly incompetent. Somehow I had to wait two more hours for an order that was already solved. Second time, the entire case said "Here for 2 doses" from the moment I got there. Every single thing in the file says that. They of course sent one. When asked about it they of course said they did everything correctly. The hospital declined to investigate further. This reflects very, very poorly on the hospital as a whole. You've fixed up so much but you don't hold the guys with the easiest job in the entire hospital to a basic standard of competence. The fact you let them pull you down to a middling rating after the actually important people on site do a great job is telling that you probably still don't care nearly as much as you should. TL;DR- fire your pharmacists(out of a cannon, preferrably) and outsource it to someone sitting at a PC in the Philippines and you'll have an actual hospital. You would be astonished how capable someone who only has to click a button and let a program run for drug interaction checks can do the job when they're not so comfortable in their job they know they cant get fired for literally killing people.
Went to the ER, sat 5+ hours without being seen and left. Recieve a bill for $133.34. Call financial dept. to inquire, was told its a 'registration fee'. Sounds like a scam to me. I'd avoid this place at all costs!
Good care, great nurses and staff.
ER Staff is Burnt out Main Hospital is great except for the Clinical Decisions unit who forgets about patients that should have been discharged hours ago.
This is probably one of the worst hospitals I’ve ever been to. The nurses don’t care about what you’re going through. The doctors don’t care even when you tell them what medicine is working. I would stay away from this… place at all cost I recently had to visit here and it was even worse. There’s no way this hospital should even exist with how bad it is and how bad the doctors are.
I went in for what I thought was kidney stones. I stayed 3 days, severe UTI, stones and a problem with connective tissue on my ribs. The staff from the Doctor , nurses, to the cleaning staff was friendly, cheerful and… very thoughtful. I got information in a way I could understand and I was included in all decisions. Good job guys! From close to septic to home in 3 days. And the food was great, with chooses and lots of options
Bring your tent. Unbelievable wait times!
It is not hyperbole to say Carroll's ED has saved both my life and my husband's because they responded with the urgency that our medical situations required. ED response times are notoriously long, but that has not been… my experience with Carroll Hospital; and not only did they act fast, they acted effectively. Community hospitals get a bad wrap. Carroll defies the stigma: the efficiency and efficacy are topnotch here. Thank you, Carroll Hospital ED!
Absolutely unacceptable experience at LifeBridge Health Carroll County Emergency Room. I brought my 9-year-old son at 10 PM in because he was having arm pain, and from the moment we arrived, the level of care and… efficiency was beyond disappointing. First, it took over 1 full hour before Dr. Karen in the emergency department even came to see him. After that, it took another hour just to get a simple X-ray done. Then after the X-ray, we were left sitting there for over 2 more hours with absolutely no answers or results. When we asked what was going on, the nurse simply told us to “keep waiting because there are no official results yet” and admitted that they are very poor at this process. That is completely unacceptable. Meanwhile, my 9-year-old child was exhausted and ended up sleeping on the waiting room chair until almost 2:30 in the morning, while we sat there with no communication, no urgency, and no care for what families are going through. What makes this even worse is that the emergency room was NOT busy. There was no justification for making a child suffer through hours of unnecessary waiting for something as basic as getting X-ray results. This was one of the worst hospital experiences I have ever had. Extremely poor communication, terrible organization, lack of urgency, and a complete disregard for patients’ time and comfort. Families bring their children to the emergency room expecting help, professionalism, and timely care not to be ignored for 4+ hours while a child is left sleeping in a chair. This facility seriously needs to improve how it handles patients in the emergency department because what we experienced tonight was unacceptable.
I spent the last 3 nights in Carroll Hospital. I went in through the ER around 5 am on 6/27. I could not have asked for better care from the any of the nurses that attended to me. Everyone was caring, friendly and… attentive from the ER to the second floor south, where I was admitted. Thank you !
Horrible my dad was there couldn't get through to anyone for an update because they outsource calls and I got non English speaking people 5 times in a row one with kids screaming in the background and then they transfer… to you to a "nurse station" the phone rings 5 to 7 times and then it hangs up on you.
they take forever it took 3 hours before even getting seen. this place is a joke.
DO NOT go to this hospital! Worst ER I have ever seen. Construction going on and they literally have patients laying there with NO sleep and continuous noise! Don’t bother asking to be moved to another room in the ER,… they won’t move you and you can just lay there enjoying the construction noise. No clear communication at all. Have to constantly repeat why your family member is there. Guess their computers don’t get updated with information you give them. I could go on and on but RUN to another hospital if at all possible.
I can't say my experience was good or bad. It was in the middle. 1. As soon as I got in, I thought my appendix had ruptured because it was hurting so bad. They didn't take me in right away and had me sit in the lobby.… 2. This elderly couple was ahead of us and the woman was gasping for air, dry heeving, and was saying "I can't breathe. It's hard for me to breathe." If I was called 1st, I would've risked my life and say, "take them 1st. They're older than me. 3. The triage nurse was nice at 1st but then raised her voice at me. At times, I can't stop moving. That's just how I am. When they were taking my blood pressure, it was hurting my arm and my reflexes kicked in. She raised her voice at me saying "stay still or else it'll restart." 4. I was not offered a bed although there were plenty of beds that were unoccupied. They had me wait in the waiting room the whole time. They were even telling me what was going on in the waiting room in front of everyone having to wait longer for tests to come back. 5. I wanted my dad to come back with me. They said he couldn't but once I was done with the stupid blood work, they'd call him back. I almost cried because all I wanted was my dad. I told them 3 times please let my dad go in there with me and they refused 6. After the triage, they took me back to another triage to take my vitals and the tests. After that, I asked when am I going to get a bed? That's when the doctor said "were going to look at ur tests to determine if you need a bed." I'm sorry, what?! Most ridiculous thing I heard of. I thought all patients were required to get a bed whether or not you're in a bad state or what. Don't treat your patients like they're not human especially for the older couple. It's ridiculous and uncalled for. I hope that woman survived as I feel more upset about her treatment. She was in a vulnerable state. Have all patients be assigned a room so that they can feel comfy. Waiting in the lobby with other sick people is absolutely disgusting and uncomfortable especially when you have rooms that aren't being used. Saying that I'm disappointed is a gentle word to use. Pissed off is too low. I'm beyond all of those.
I came to the ER and was charged and I paid then later I was charged like $2k and I paid out of pocket after being told my insurance wouldn't cover anything so I used my credit card, now it's months later and I receive… another bill for damn near the original amount saying the insurance covered like $1300 and I owe $240 more? I paid the bill in full, where is my money I paid before? The bill isn't itemized, you're giving me like 2 weeks to pay? Why? I shouldn't have to give you another dime.
I was a patient here on 5/26- 5/27. The nurses and Dr Guzman were wonderful and literally saved my life. My aftercare provided by Dr Franck Lin was problematic. I strongly believed he judged me on the color of my skin… instead of simply being a patient.
THIS IS BRANDONS GIRLFRIEND AMBER AND WHEN HE WAS THERE ON TUESDAY THEY MESSED HIS LEFT HAND UP AS SHOWN IN THE PICTURES BELOW HIS LEFT HAND IS SWOLLEN THEN HIS RIGHT AND ITS WHERE THEY HAD THE IVY IN HIS HAND ON… TUESDAY WHEN THEY TOOK THE IVY OUT OF HIS HAND ITS WASN'T STRAIGHT IT WAS BENT AND THEY DID CHEST X-RAYS AND THEY DID NOT GIVE HIM HIS RESULTS FROM THE X-RAYS THEY ALSO DIDN'T GIVE HIM HIS DISCHARGE PAPERS, HE WAS COUGHING REALLY BAD THAT NIGHT AND I ASKED THEM TO GIVE HIM A BREATHING TREATMENT AND THEY DIDN’T GIVE IT TO HIM OH ONE MORE THING WE TOLD THEM THAT HIS NERVES WHERE ACTING UP AND WE ASKED THEM 8 TIMES TO GIVE HIM HIS LYRICA FOR HIS NERVE PAIN AND THEY DIDN’T EVEN GIVE HIM THAT.
