Community Medical Services – McKinney Detox and Rehab Services

The provision listed at Community Medical Services – McKinney is intensive outpatient and outpatient care. Structured outpatient runs to a schedule while people return home in the evening. The right level of care is a clinical judgement rather than a preference, and an assessment should produce a defined answer.

The record does not show integrated provision, so confirm this if it matters. Medication-assisted treatment combines approved medication with counseling and clinical review. It is worth asking how many hours a week the program runs, because that decides whether it fits around everything else.

I've been a patient fot a few years. Since the change over to Community Medical things have changed quite a bit for the good. Regular doctor checks, blood work / labs. Only complaint is employee turnover can be quit… high. I've seen over 10 different counselors in my years. The staff is quite friendly and prompt. Things can get backed up but it because patient overload. Like the new hours too.

I am so grateful for these services this clinic offers to help me along my journey of recovery. The staff is very kind and I always have a pleasant experience when coming to the clinic. My counselor Mercan I highly… recommend bc she is very professional, listens intently and gives great advice , encouragement and has been very helpful by providing me resources that I otherwise wouldn't have known about. Hands down best clinic I've been too !!!!

This place has been absolutely amazing on my little journey. From the counselors to the staff to the nurses. Everyone has ALWAYS been nothing but polite and caring. I've been told some people have left some nasty… refiews and the ONLY I have to say about that is that id be willing to bet money they are just projecting their own self hate and pity at someone else because they won't allow themselves to grow enough to discover true accountability. I would recommend this place 100 times over if you are serious about trying to start a road to recover but if you're not willing to hold yourself accountable and admit when you're wrong and try to figure a way to better yourself and grow from the lesson then don't even bother. But if you are. You will find everything you need here 🥰🥰

So grateful to be here!! Everyone is so kind and welcoming from when I asked every question under the sun over the phone, to front desk, to the nurses, counselors, they have been so kind during this extremely difficult… experience. You’re treated like a normal HUMAN and patient here which I love and appreciate more than anything

Oh wow, I just read a review that was unbelievably wrong. I know addict behaviors can often blame others because they don’t want to actually look at themselves so I will try to be kind in my response. I have been to… many clinics and this clinic is hands down the very best clinic I have ever been to. The front desk staff is not only friendly, they go above and beyond to help. The nurse is amazing and at one point she was handling all clients by herself which can be incredibly difficult and she did it with a smile and actually was faster than my last Tyler clinic who had 3 nurses working. As for Wendy, I can’t even express how much she has helped me and all her other clients. She cares deeply and will go to bat for any of us. I don’t like putting my business out there in public regarding being on maintenance but for this group of people working here, I would go on national tv if it meant showing my appreciation. Wendy has a gift from God in counseling - it is so evident in everything she does. She will lovingly hold me accountable when necessary, laugh with me when I need cheering or even cry with me when I share heart wrenching details with her. I have opened up to her things I never thought I would share with anyone. She made me feel safe and heard. I didn’t realize just how much I needed to share some of those experiences. I tell her often that I surprised myself just how quickly I was able to trust her and open up. I am so upset that anyone would say anything negative about her. I figure that person must be new and have no real clue what they’re talking about because I bet everyone of Wendy’s clients would feel the same as I do. This clinic is full of wonderful employees who really care about their clients and I hope they know that “hurt people hurt people” so please don’t take it personally.

Absolutely disgusting. I called in advance in which they told me to come in at 5:30 AM. My boyfriend and I did and I was told there is no doctor available and I have to wait to come in on Monday. Today is THURSDAY! So,… if I die over the weekend because you refuse to provide care after I OVERHEARD THE DOCTOR IS ACTUALLY THERE, you can thank this clinic!

I don’t like the new staff. The front desk lady always has an attitude and is not kind. When u asked for her name, she said “you don’t need to know that, you can tell your counselor I don’t care” When I’m sitting in the… lobby there’s always this lady named Wendy talking loud and being obnoxious and cursing and even calling her clients “idiots”. Now the nurse with the glasses, she always acts like she’s busy or I see her in the front desk chatting it up with the rude front desk lady all while there’s people in the lobby waiting to dose. The new manager with glasses, idk her name. She’s rude and does not have empathy at all. The Doctor sees me for 1 minute and that’s it. Way to care! The clinic staff has gone to shit. I just need my medication. - my review was deleted or hidden from the clinic. This is what I mean they are deceiving us!

I first started attending this clinic three years ago, and when I began treatment it was a supportive and professional environment. Unfortunately, since management changed, my experience has been completely different,… and I will not be returning. Before leaving town for work and to visit family, I informed the clinic ahead of time about my travel plans. While I was away, I became very sick and was unable to take my full doses because I was trying to avoid vomiting and running out completely. I was also pregnant at the time, which made the situation even more difficult. Because of this, I received a discrepancy for the first time in the entire three years I had been a patient there. After that, I was discharged without any clear communication or warning. No one informed me that missing one specific day or failing to complete verification at another clinic would result in discharge. I attempted to guest dose at another clinic, but they were unable to reach my home clinic because no one would answer the phone to verify my information. As a result, I could not receive my medication that day. I have now gone five days without treatment, stranded in another state without a clinic, despite trying to follow the proper procedures and communicate in advance. I feel abandoned during a vulnerable medical situation, especially while pregnant and sick. After three years as a compliant patient with no prior issues, I believe this situation was handled unfairly and without proper patient care or communication. I am requesting a review of my discharge, clarification on the policies that were used, and assistance with continuity of care immediately. Also because of this I’m misscarring my child thank you CMS

We went to this place for about six months... driving from Dallas before work every morning. Our first day, the doctor discussed my medical information with my partner, and then told him, "I wouldn't bet my house on… your recovery"... I filed a grievance about this and never heard another thing about it. The place is nice, the office people and nurses are not. I got the feeling a lot of them felt superior to those of us seeking help. They regularly would quote "state guidelines" for reasons why things went the way they did, but that just isn't true. It was the clinic rules... which don't follow the guidelines and rules you get when you first sign up. They made the process of transitioning from my DOC to methadone really difficult and it took over two and a half months to get to a place I was not constantly sick bc of the way they did things. There was just a lot of inconsistencies and being able to compare my experience with my partners--- after they quote state regulations, but then do it totally different than my partner and was. Here we are, a year since we left that clinic for one closer to home. We are still clean--- with multiple days take home privileges (something that would not have happened at MedPro). At the end of the day, they are a business offering a service that many of us paid for, but I wouldn't go back here if I had a choice of ANYWHERE else. My counselor, Melissa, actually told me how horrible the clinic we chose to transfer to was, but after a while we had monthlys, and have been clean for years now.

Clinic is taking away important funding & now a lot of us are going to be left with nothing. Selfishness of new owner I’m guessing. I would hate to lose my sobriety over this.

Megan Young1 year ago

New Owner has messed up our hope & faith for this place.. this place saved my life, but now a lot of lives will be lost due to new owner taking away life path funding. Without funding, most of us can’t afford treatment,… which will lead to a lot of clients, fearing of Methadone withdrawals. Which will cause most of us to go back to using heroin or fentanyl, which will take a lot of our lives, and a lot of kids will lose their parents. I Wouldn’t recommend this place anymore due to the new owner. They’re taking away a lot of options and they act like drug addict addicts have all this money, when we just want to get to our lives together and use the appropriate resources so that we can. But when the resources are being taken from us, we have no choice. I wish the owner put the clients first, but this owner does not & doesn’t even care to engage with the clients how past owners used to. This place used to be wonderful, unfortunately I can’t recommend it anymore.

They can't keep their story straight about insurance. They don't care about people trying to get clean, they care about $$$$$. Updated 10/2025- Once again their greedy hands hard at work. I have NEVER gone to any place… gotten a discount, then months later had that place come back DEMANDING that discount be paid back?!? What the heck is wrong with CMS mckinney? Your business practices are shady. You deny patients their medication because they owe you $$ they had no idea they owed. Then the counselor has no clue what the heck is happening and honestly doesn't care. A single mother of a level 3 profoundly autistic non verbal child who is unable to work, who's passed EVERY single drug test, has NOT relapsed, is polite even when y'all aren't, and has an anxiety disorder that y'all know about and still you didn't care enough to give her a heads up so she could try to get the $ together to pay the "discount" she got while waiting for medicaid. Good thing medicaid doesn't like being stolen from and takes fraud very seriously. You don't get to double dip!

CMS is the best clinic I've been to and in 24 years I've been to more than three this one is by far the best when people complain about the line being long most of them have 50 to 100 people wrapped around the building… and some clinics in those clinics have four windows going at all times so if you're not up there at 3:00am in the morning still going to be like 10th one clinic i come from Port Richey Florida and they would even kick people out for dirty drug test The only positive thing about that clinic was that you were able to get the 40 mg tablet which I believe worked better for me don't know why it's the same dosage I could go to the one in Denison but I would never get take homes because I take benzos I couldn't give thesee people a better rating they're the best! TO THOSE WHO WHINE DON'T TAKE METHADONE GO GET PUT ON SUBOXONE
