About Florida Parishes Human Servs Authority – Mandeville

Florida Parishes Human Servs Authority is at 900 Wilkinson Street in Mandeville. Lewisburg is 1.9 miles away and Madisonville 6.0. That radius takes in Madisonville, Abita Springs, Covington and Lacombe, all within 9 miles. Mandeville sits in Saint Tammany County, and the county’s own provision is limited enough that this site draws from a wide area.

The facility runs intensive outpatient and outpatient care. Approved medication runs alongside counseling, which is what medication-assisted treatment means in practice. Substance use and mental health are treated together rather than in sequence. Remote appointments are offered, useful for anyone without transport. Veterans are a named group here. Florida Parishes Human Servs Authority is federally registered and licensed by the Louisiana Department of Health.

The Social worker is really kind and understanding BUT the psychiatrist was a PAIN first of all she gave me a 12 year old dirty looks and then complained I was 10 minutes late. She sat there and guilt tripped me and my… mom and made everything worse in my life. And when I was visibly uncomfortable she continued asking the same question that was making me uncomfortable. I was also thrown onto ADHD meds with no testing whatsoever.

DISCRIMINATION, DISCRIMINATION, DISCRIMINATION. My son needs psychiatric help, and this company turned me down because we live in Mississippi. They will not see Mississippi residents, but our health insurance is in… Louisiana AND THEY TAKE OUR HEALTH INSURANCE. My husband and I work in Louisiana, and our health insurance is through our employer. We can't find doctors in Mississippi since our health insurance is in Louisiana. This practice is discriminating against us for living in Mississippi and having Louisiana insurance because that is what our employer offers. I hope no one else ever has to deal with this place of business. Additionally, after they turned us down, I read the reviews, and I must say, everything happens for a reason. It is probably a good thing they turned us down. Anyone else who attempts to see a provider through this business, I hope your experience is better than mine. Sincerely, A hurt parent who was just trying to get help for their child!!!

I have nothing but positive things to say about this place. I have been a patient since before Katrina. I get reminders about appointments, calls from the pharmacy to check each month how I am doing with medications… before they send them to me. My counselor is a very nice person that goes out of there way to make me comfortable and happy. My doctors a little rough around the edges, but the job gets done and done right. Update 7/23 New doctor and very nice

Whoever gave a 4 star to this facility only went there in his/dreams or maybe went to another facility with similar name. The 4 start given by the first review gave an overall 3 star which makes it look like a fair… place. It is a terrible facility. Don’t go there

I have nothing but good things to say about MBH. From the receptionist to the counselors and the psychiatrist they are great. They saved my life.

Staff is a disorganized mess and does not care about the clients. Often times I would walk in on time to my appointments only to hear they were rescheduled without my contact or consent. Have had several instances in… which my medicine was prescribed in the wrong dosage or not prescribed at all. When I would point out these problems to the staff or try to receive help, I was often given attitude or ignored completely. The location is also sketchy as well, as it resides between a low-income neighborhood and a highway. I once was stalked by a local creep getting out of my car one day, which gave me a panic attack. Told staff about the incident, and they just simply said something along the lines of “oh he lives around here so it’s fine.” Overall, I would not recommend this place to anyone going through serious mental health issues. There are many professional resources and facilities for mental health on the Northshore that can help you or a loved one get the care that’s needed, but this is not one of them.

MBH has outstanding therapists and medical team. I have seen wonderful success in recovery patients, both immediate and long term. Administrative staff also works diligently to serve patrons and identify resources for… improving life's needs.

Marianne Call prematurly discontinued one of my medications sending my system into complete disarray. I assume they carry medical malpractice insurance to cover their mistakes. A letter is being drafted to the proper… offices to expose their practices.
