No. Dont. I did inpatient care and outpatient care. I had to file multiple complaints about my rights being violated and then switched to Pine Rest because Forest View was discriminatory and, at best, damaging to my… healing. DO NOT GO HERE unless you have NO OTHER OPTIONS. I cannot stress this enough.

The trauma classes literally changed my life. My s***idal tendencies are mostly gone. I can’t praise this place enough. You get out of it, what you put into it. I went in wanting help, wanting to get better. I went to… every available class. It wasn’t perfect. It wasn’t easy. But, I am so thankful to the staff and especially the “teacher” of the trauma group. I’m a whole new woman.

I’ve noticed that Forest View has quite a few one-star reviews, but my personal experience was very different. I believe mental health treatment starts with the individual. This is a program designed to help you, but… you also have to be willing to participate, work on yourself, and genuinely want to get better and go home in a healthier place. I’m not saying that everyone who left a negative review had the same experience as me, because everyone’s situation is different. However, I think people should consider more than just the star rating when deciding what to expect. Personally, I thought the staff was excellent. They were helpful and professional, and the food was excellent as well. I can honestly say that I enjoyed my stay and appreciated the treatment, support, and care I received while I was there. A facility can provide the staff, structure, treatment, resources, and support, but recovery also requires something from the individual. If you go into Forest View willing to participate, communicate honestly, listen, and work toward getting better, I believe you can get a lot more out of the program. Based on my own experience, I would definitely give Forest View a positive review. I’m hoping to return soon and continue benefiting from the program and the support they provide.

They lost my belt, necklace, watch and shoe laces. Housekeeping was horrible. Noise at night was horrible. Didn't sleep for the noise. I hope I can get reimbursed for the items they stole or misplaced. 1650 dollars down… the drain. I would never recommend this place. I could do better with a psychiatrist. Added more anxiety. Worst 7 days of my life.

My brother was admitted on a Tuesday. He came with no clothes and the hospital provided clothing (I’m not sure what clothing but I’m sure some type of patient scrubs or hospital gown) and we were told to bring clothing… for him by staff. We brought clothing on Thursday morning. We called every day to make sure he got it. Each time we called to the nurse, they would put us on hold to look and then 5 minutes later someone else would pick up the phone to tell us there is an emergency and they will call back. They never called back. We had called several times and left messages for the nurse either by voicemail or by the receptionist and not get a call back. Still, my brother did not receive his clothes. I called and a nurse went to look for the clothing. Another nurse picked up the phone 10 minutes later and told me there’s an emergency they will call me back. So I went in. No receptionist was at the ambulance entrance and the phone was left ringing for nearly 20 minutes. I was finally let in where I waited 15 minutes for the nurses to come. And of course, they came with the clothes minus two pairs of underpants they could not locate. They found the clothing in my brothers roommates belongings (sharing clothes is not allowed, my brother never would have given them to someone else because he was telling us that he wanted his clothes and they could not find it). I explained to them that my brother would not have given his clothes. They told me inpatients are loopy. They said potentially the roommate thought the clothes were his. If that’s the case, why are you not monitoring what inpatients have? Sounds like a potential safety hazard. They did not take responsibility. They entertained the idea that my brother gave away his clothes. Not the case but even if it was, the staff still are not doing their job. They said they will locate the underwear and wash his clothes and give it to him. I wrote a formal complaint. My mom visited my brother today and he still did not have the clothes. My mom got a voicemail an hour after the visit that they will find the clothes and have someone bring it to my brother. He still does not have his clothes, a day after they literally located it. Each time we called to see what was going on, they went “looking” for it and conveniently never got back to us. But when I came in person, they happened to actually put in the effort to find it. I called today to ask why my brother does not have clothes. I was told they’re going down to dinner and she will have someone call me back. Completely ridiculous. Complete negligence. What a joke.

My experience with the people caring for my daughter was awful.no one there seems to truly care about these people who are at their most vulnerable. I’m sure if we had better insurance she could have stayed as long as… she actually needed to. I’m extremely disappointed and worried that releasing her at this point will only make things worse for her.

Meh, been there 3 times inpatient on all 3 floors except 400, and I gotta say thanks for treating us like humans(except the ward where psychosis ppl are held on, not treated too well and please fix the air conditioning)… but aye the food is SPECTACULAR compared to pine rest! Excellent plant-based options, thank you for helping!

Tried to call intake and it rang for over ten minutes, called operator and they said “no one was around to take my call” and asked me to call back later. I asked when later was and she said “I don’t know”. I told her I… was seeking psychiatric help and she said they could take down my information and call me back later. I asked when about that would be, if she meant a few hours, tonight, the next day.. she responded “I don’t know” 😭 what kind of place is this? Before asking my name or if I was even safe she asked for my insurance, and directed me somewhere else. How is this a safe practice? I’ve been several times so I’m not surprised whatsoever, but how can people get help like this? No wonder we have a mental health crisis

I am the parent of an adolescent who was admitted here twice this year. During both stays, my child was touched inappropriately by another patient. I received a prompt call from the charge nurse following the first… incident, but the second incident was never communicated to me by any staff member whatsoever. **My child self harmed severely while inpatient here and again, this situation was never communicated to me by any staff member. ** The psychiatrist “noted” the self harm, but still deemed my child stable enough to be discharged. My child was actively suicidal and self harming upon discharge!! In no way is this considered stable. He then failed to send prescriptions to the pharmacy until I called on more than one occasion to prompt him to do so as my child had no medication when returning home and had to go without until the following evening. Admission to PHP was denied due to my child being actively suicidal and a danger to themself, the supervisor at the center also told me that none of this very significant information was put in the records they received upon my child’s discharge from Forest View. I’m extremely disappointed that Forest View very clearly failed my child!! let this be a warning to parents- become involved, find out everything, ask all the questions- you’re going to be the reason your child makes it or does not. These places only see money signs.

Was there multiple times for over 6 months total from ages 11-13, spent Halloween, Christmas, and thanksgiving in there. Wasn’t the worst but doctor schellenberg was awful. Marissa, Kyra, Milly, Shaelyn, and Carlos were… great tho. Dr put me on ATP after 6 days inpatient which was probably the worst thing I’ve ever been thru. Dr needs to listen to patients more. Personally never caused any codes but for patients who caused codes it seemed like they were treated well. Staff always did the best they could to keep ppl safe and as comfortable as possible during codes. Really understaffed which isn’t their fault but that made it rough. Also my roommate shit down the drain and it took them weeks to fix it sooo….Thanks to everyone who helped me tho.

Worst place ever for Anxiety/Depression. It’s more like an insane asylum! They are way under staffed, the nurses get screamed at by crazy patients at all hours! It’s just a mad house. If you can prevent it, choose else… where! There’s literally nothing to do during the day because they keep the group room locked until certain times. So you’re just either in your room (with a roommate) or sitting in the hall listening to the craziness go on which is very stressful. It’s not a healing place at all. The only thing they have going for them is the food is editable.

Dr Singla didn't listen to or believe me. I was experiencing catatonia, and he literally laughed as I told him this. He used my request for Ativan against me in court while upholding mandated medication. Following my… release, I was admitted to another hospital where Dr Beroza recognized my catatonia and successfully treated me with Ativan. If you are disappointed with your treatment at Forest View, you are not alone.

if i could give this place a zero star i would. i’m using an alt account to describe what i endured during my 5 day stay here. First i waited 5 hours just filing out paperwork and waiting. I was getting really impatient… and asked how much longer because at that point i was ready to leave. 15 minutes later a staff member came back into the room and said they were ready for me. I wasn’t ready to be honest, i was terrified, but i needed help. They got me settled in my room, but my anxiety was so bad it made me sick, but i was worried because i was recently exposed to covid. They then quarantined me in a room all by myself. I would later be sa and harassed by a male patient. They staff never noticed he walked in an out of my room up to three times. He had put my pants and shoes on and take my bra and walk out of the room. What i didn’t know at the time was he has also called my grandma and scared her, and he would proceed to try to follow me back into my room and close the door on us. They staff barely did anything about this situation besides separate us and leave me traumatized. I would then tell them that i didn’t feel safe not just in this unit but in the whole facility itself. I immediately wanted to leave and go home. They supervisor on call said that was possible and that i was safe and okay there. I would then later sign a 72 hour release paper. A two days later they would tell me that i needed to be switched to a different unit because they needed to send him back into the unit i was in. I just wanted to go home. At this point i am petrified of going to sleep because im scared he’s gonna be there in my room. I got switched to a different unit and then would be waiting at the nurses station trying to get something to calm me down when he then would be transferred and walk right behind me. i immediately tried to lean into the nurses station because seeing him so close to me sent me into a panic attack. Later during my last couple days i would stay there, he would constantly be transferred around me, and i tried to ask the staff if they could warm me when his unit was walking through so i can at least go in my room so i wasn’t near him, but that never happened. I have filed a report about this. I want to give a shoutout to the staff members, nikki, amber, brandie, and jacquline. They were so lovely with keeping me calm and helping me avoid seeing him. But i would also never ever come back to forest view again. Because this whole situation could’ve been avoided. Thank you for reading.

I was admitted in October, I had been meeting with my doctor every week to monitor my weight for almost a year, although my weight declined to 80 lbs my doctor advised me to go to the er and get an evaluation. I have… always had problems gaining weight, but to highlight I was not anorexic, bulimic. I got ekg scans, blood test, etc and after meeting with the therapist who does the evaluations in the er the only way to get me to go to forest view was if I was in a case of self harm or I was anorexic or bulimic. I had already been diagnosed with depression. obviously those aren't good enough reasons to get sent to forest view so this lady decided to add that I was severe anorexic, as I would probably get turned away since "my case isn't severe" as soon as I got there I already knew this wasn't for me, just being taken back to the unit I already wanted out and I called my mom crying begging her to get me out and that I would change and do everything I could to get better. as I went in voluntarily the only way i could be released "early" was by signing a 73 hr form. as I didn't know anything I was 100% honest with all the ppl I met with, I told them I was having trouble gaining weight and that its always been an issue. then I started noticing what I was saying me telling them my goal was to be at a healthy weight, 95 lbs is not a healthy weight, I barely gained while I was admitted so I would have to be in for weeks to get to a "healthy weight" I didn't want to stay longer then a week. so I told everyone I was doing great things they wanted to hear. then the doctor told me that he would try to release me Thursday Friday the latest( I was admitted on Friday) but he told I would have to release the 73 hr form and I told him I wouldn't unless he gave me the exact day I was gonna leave, I didn't want to stay there against my will and he also didn't want that either for me. thank u to the doctor because I think he realized me being in there wasn't the best for me. I was released on my 19th birthday that same Thursday, thanks to god. most of the staff was nice, Becca, Carlos, and the teal staff Logan, were helpful the activity therapist definitely helped make the time pass, I always looked forward to seeing Carlos I loved that he would bring his guitar and sing us songs. there was this one night shift nurse definitely lgbtq idk what her/his name was but while I was there it was freezing and I didn't have a sweater with me my parents came to drop me off warm things and I didn't;t receive them until the day I was released, I had asked the nurse for them because I could see my things sitting in the back and they had already been checked, I waited at the desk asked for them and the they/she/he told me I had to wait because she was busy, she then proceeded to look at her computer, me thinking she would give me my things and she looked at me and told me to leave because she wasn't going to give me my items right then. needless to say I felt more alone in there than ever, I couldn't even speak one word to my family because I was so ashamed of being in there and I was really missing my family, definitely do your research and hopefully if others find this hospital useful to them. I was scared shitless and I would never ever go back and I would never wish this upon my worst enemy ever

I am incredibly torn about this practice. On the clinical side, I have nothing but good things to say. The staff in the outpatient program are wonderful, and my experience with their medication management clinic has… been fantastic. I really like my psychiatrist and the care I’ve received has been top-notch. Unfortunately, the billing department is an absolute nightmare, and it is entirely ruining the experience. They do not have a modern patient portal. In 2026, the only way to pay your bill is by mailing a check or calling during business hours, and the only way to get an updated statement is to call and wait a full day for them to email it to you. Worse, their billing practices are chaotic and aggressively mishandled. I had a clear agreement with my provider to pay a set amount and have the rest written off. Instead of honoring that, they sent my account to debt collectors with absolutely zero notice. Even after calling to clear it up, I was given completely contradictory information, told to ignore the debt collectors by the office, yet the office's own bills still list those exact same charges. I was verbally told my balance was $275, but my physical bill said $150, and nobody seems to know what is actually going on. Mental health care should not involve playing a highly stressful guessing game with debt collectors and broken billing systems. As much as I love my psychiatrist and the medical team, the administrative incompetence is so unbearable that I am strongly considering taking my care to another provider. Be very careful with your billing if you choose to go here.

Just am touching base. I know someone that was in there 10 days for an episode. Now released. New appointment is for later in March . Meds are only for 2 weeks. So now there will be no meds for the other 2 weeks. No one… calls back to talk to someone. It's to bad our mental patients are treated this way. They already struggle an this could make it a lot worse.
