Most grateful for this treatment center on my 7th anniversary sober from alcohol. The seeds Hazeldon planted saved my life! Shame on whoever is letting Susan Nice run meetings out of your building. She let a stranger… stroke my leg her entire meeting and never stopped it once. Had the audacity to ask if it was my boyfriend after. Knowing I live with PTSD from abuse being my longtime 'godsponsor'. She just spoke at the Canada opening. How are you letting someone so detached from reality speak to those in need of help? How many meetings has she been to? Her suggestions along with Laura Ws (whos Mom works with congress scary enough) and the ladies of AA in particular are reckless. Suggested I do my first lead of life and didnt show up. How many woman have you sponsored Laura? You suggested more fellowship and ditched me at my first AA dance. 2 ladies came to Windy City Church women's big book meeting on Mondays and felt so shamed the went home and killed themselves. Those ladies made me feel the same but I refuse to kill myself though your careless suggestions made me feel like I should. The ladies in AA arent doctors. Thanks for being professionals Hazeldon. Alano clubs are hot spots for gossip that's ruining lives. Grateful to be alive and sober. Thanks for starting my journey with me 14 years ago! Hiding under fake names to gain personal information is illegal too Tricia. Shame on all of you ladies.

I had the opportunity to go through the South Suburban Council program about two years ago, and I can confidently say it was a life-changing experience. From day one, the staff treated me with respect, patience, and… genuine care. They didn’t just see me as another participant they took the time to understand my situation and helped guide me toward making better decisions for my future. The program provided structure, accountability, and real support when I needed it most. What stood out the most was how invested everyone was in my growth. Whether it was counseling, job readiness, or just having someone to talk to, the resources they offered made a real difference in my life. Even after completing the program, the lessons and discipline I gained have stayed with me and continue to help me move in the right direction. Two years later, I’m in a much better place mentally, emotionally, and professionally and I truly credit a big part of that to the South Suburban Council. If you’re considering this program or have been referred to it, I highly recommend taking it seriously and giving it your all. It can genuinely help change your life if you let it. Five stars all the way.

Hazelden Betty Ford stands out as a premier treatment center for substance abuse, often likened to the Harvard of its field. The care provided by their dedicated staff—clinicians, nurses, and psychiatrists—truly sets… them apart. Each aspect of the program, from the comprehensive curriculum to the personalized therapy sessions, is designed to promote healing and recovery. Clients receive not only exceptional medical support but also compassionate guidance tailored to their individual needs. I highly recommend Hazelden Betty Ford to anyone seeking a transformative experience in their journey toward wellness.

Intake person told me “May 24th is a great day to be sober. Has a good ring to it.” That alone kept me sober. 748 days later, I am still sober. Thank you Hazelden!! It’s the little things.

Such a transformative experience! Naturally, the reviews you read for addiction treatment centers are going to skew negative but don't let that deter you if you believe you need help. Not only did I have an amazing… experience with staff, I've built a strong foundation of community among my peers who were also seeking treatment. While encouraged by their use of an evidenced-based model, the incorporation of the 12-steps had me skeptical at first but now I'm fully committed. If you feel the 12 steps aren't for you, they also provide information about alternatives such as SMART Recovery and Recovery Dharma. My one complaint would be that I had chosen to participate in the in-person IOP during intake, but was somehow placed into the virtual IOP. Once it was recognized it was a quick fix and it didn't impact my start date or anything like that.

Miscommunication and misinformation caused me to wait for sessions to begin for 3 weeks. When it finally came time to become part of a session, the counselor holding the session never sent me the necessary tools to… properly join the session so I had to contact the facility numerous times the day of my session. When I finally joined the session, the microphone and speaker were not working properly and I could barely hear the conversation. My counselor giving the session also had no accountability when I addressed not setting me up for success for my session and not providing the necessary tools to join. One week later I attempted to begin sessions again and yet again I was not provided the necessary tools to join my virtual sessions. 4 weeks is too long for someone in need of addiction therapy for anyone but especially from a company who is benefiting financially. This is not pro bono work. This company does not care for the mental and physical well-being of potential clients. This company does not care about people who are seeking help for addiction. Seek help elsewhere.

I stumbled through AA 12 step programs, rehabs, for years, so archaic, so out of date!!! Read William Porter’s, Alcohol Explained. Kept me sober, and I am not powerless nor diseased!!! Save your money and don’t go to an… AA 12 step rehab!!!

You’ll do just as good if not better by attending meetings. Costs much less as well.

Really very sad that people fall prey to an incredibly overpriced vacation. Proven over and over AA does not work. Please stop trying to pull these young lost people into thinking that this is going to save them. It… doesn’t and it is all about money and insurance definitely do not recommend ever going to one of these treatment facilities
